  1. This is probably destined from the start for PPP, but I'll give it a shot anyway ... A couple of players are already on record saying they would never play for a Limbaugh-owned team. Now, if he were to succeed in taking control of the Rams, I don't think the players under contract would have any legal means of following through on that promise ... but it could certainly affect free-agent signings.
  2. Fall Festival is in Ellicottville this weekend, if you didn't already know. Hopefully, all that foliage isn't still weighted down (or on the ground) by the rain; my grandfather used to call days like today "dark and dreary" in a somber tone of voice ... think it's supposed to get better for the weekend, though.
  3. On behalf of our neighbors to the north, I'd like to respectfully request an addition to your list: http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/afghanis...lties/list.html
  4. I hear you. Fool that I am, I just booked my flight for the Carolina game ...
  5. Can real fans root against their team? I'm not at that point, and I'm not sure I ever could be. Think I'd stop caring first ... and that's getting closer and closer to happening.
  6. Attacking other people for "bashing the President"? Questioning their patriotism? Ah yes, PPP staples ever since we started this board in 2000. I do have to admit it's amusing to see them coming from the other side of the aisle, though, considering how much they've complained about other people doing the same for the previous eight years.
  7. Other Americans have won this great prize. Most of them actually did something to deserve it other than getting themselves elected. Some interesting opinion from that noted bastion of conservative thought, The Guardian: I hope Nobel members feel pleased with themselves, the smug idiots
  8. While Jauron has arguably stuck with his quarterbacks past others' tolerance thresholds (I'm thinking McNown and Stewart in Chicago), a guy who whacks his OC and cuts the alleged starting LT the week before the season begins is certainly capable of making that move. And poor JÂy ... all these years later, he still can't catch a break. Edit: Good answer, GG. And speaking of kingdoms, it was actually the Magic Kingdom, correct? I seem to remember Scott telling us the family was in line for one of the rides when his cellphone rang ...
  9. From the 2009 league media policy (via PFWA):
  10. Pretty sure he mentioned watching Irv as a kid, in one of his interviews for "Bruce Almighty." Blaze busters, pistol-packing punks -- those were the good ol' days.
  11. True dat. Playing off a post Tim wrote over at his blog, the two cities have a lot more in common than Lake Erie and bad football teams ... Hmmm. Grilled pierogies ... think someone I tailgated with from here did that a LONG time ago, before the first "official" TBD tailgate, even.
  12. Bruce and Biscuit against a rookie QB? Kelly and Co. against either the NE or Indy D? I'd like their chances in every single game on that schedule. Of course, that team also didn't have to deal with either the salary cap or the watered-down product in a 32-team league, either ...
  13. 97 Rock and Channel 2 (for the dearly departed Sports Extra) have both done something like that. The 97 Rock one I have is from '93 or later, though, because it has "Drew Throws Like a Lady" on it for Bledsoe and the Pats.
  14. Can't disagree. I know Jim Kelly instigated the whole "Bickering Bills" thing when he went off on House Ballard, but I agreed with him all the way -- if I'm the guy in a shoulder sling because someone else screwed up, darn straight I'd be a little annoyed.
  15. Not yet, but this AP story tiptoes around the edges of a possible cause: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4540735
  16. Nick Mendola linked that on Twitter earlier this afternoon. Not sure if it's his, or he was just passing it along. Funny stuff, though.
  17. Sully's been shouting it from the rooftops since the end of last season, as have the guys in Rochester. And Ralph is paying just about as much attention to them as he will to this.
  18. Well, the guy has played in a Pro Bowl ... (You know we're talking about Braylon, right?)
  19. Like SDS, I'm honored that Mr. Pitoniak has agreed to share his work with TBD, and I look forward to seeing his thoughts on the Bills on our front page. And as a reminder, you can also find Scott's opinions on various subjects over at his own Web site, ScottPitoniak.com.
  20. You know where to find us. Semi-serious question: if I wanted to fix an opponent-themed tailgate entree -- i.e., jambayala and po' boys for New Orleans, chowdah for Boston -- does Cleveland have any regional specialties? Otherwise, it's burgers and Sahlen's. (Not that there's anything wrong with that...)
  21. They came back to beat the Saints?
