  1. Your call, of course. Always has been, as you know, and I'll support whatever decision you make. First, though, let me post a reminder of the ground rules set in the original thread (emphasis mine): And my own thoughts: asking ANY reporter to "out" ANY source in regards to ANY story will, and should, be a non-starter.
  2. More on this: http://blogs.nfl.com/2010/01/19/nolans-jum...iami-clarified/ The money quote from Steve Wyche: "With a deal coming together so quickly with the Dolphins –- one day after Nolan split from Denver –- parameters of a deal had to have been in place before or shortly after he left the Broncos." PFT suggests tampering. I'm inclined to agree, but if McDaniels was helping him pack, I doubt they'll do anything about it. Here's the Denver Post story which mentions Buffalo's interest. Had to dig to find a link that wasn't behind their paywall: http://www.denverpost.com/broncosheadlines...9106?source=rss
  3. Absolute bull ****. No need to reply. Welcome to ignore.
  4. They could've hired Gailey when they fired Turk? And completely changed the offense in the TEN DAYS before the season opener, when Jauron was already desperately trying to do whatever he could to hang onto his job? Jasno lost me with that one.
  5. The list in that Wiki cite, as usual, is incorrect. Instead of returning to Cleveland, Bates was indeed with Gailey in Dallas from 1998-99. Not the DC, though -- he was the LB coach, but Gailey promoted him to assistant HC/d-line when he took over.
  6. Interesting thing is, the Bills ALSO asked Denver for permission to talk to Nolan as soon as the season ended, but I don't think they ever had a chance once he found out Miami wanted him. That tidbit is per one of the Broncos' beat guys, by the by. Yep.
  7. While I don't normally make a habit of promoting other sites unless they involve longtime TBD members -- i.e., MrJasper's i-net radio broadcasts -- I thought there might be some interest in hearing what Tim (who does meet that criteria) thinks of today's festivities, and I know quite a few of you already listen to Mr. Capaccio. Believe the show begins at 9 EST or shortly thereafter: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/buffalo-bills-now
  8. FWIW, they were never going to get Nolan. That deal was set in motion long before he and Denver officially parted company.
  9. You'll be waiting for a long time, then.
  10. You're actually asking a reporter to "out" a source? Seriously?
  11. Perhaps Brown chose to write about Butler because he's further along, or because as a veteran, he expects BB to lead the line (along with Hangartner). From Buffalo Football Report's Tyler Dunne, during a recent Q-and-A with Brian Brohm: "He’s doing pretty good. He’s able to put a little bit of weight on it now. He’s confident that he’ll be back and I’m confident in him because he’s such a hard worker. I feel like he’ll be back and ready to go by the first game. I’m not positive but he’s pushing for that."
  12. 'Boys already had Tuinei at LT when they drafted Aikman, no? Colts already had Tarik Glenn when they drafted Manning. Bills had just drafted Wolford when Kelly finally got here. Current Bills have ... DBell? Meredith? Gotta do better than that, or your first-round QB ends up looking like David Carr. As always, JMO...
  13. Agreed. Jets are in the AFC CG not because of their "Sanchise," but because they fixed the line before going after the QB. Doesn't matter who's under center if he's got practice-squad tackles blocking for him.
  14. At this point, I think I'd drop the "seems"... (BTW, scribo -- if you hadn't already noticed, I haven't been on here in forever. Working back through a stack of PMs; I'll have some more thoughts for you there.)
  15. As with Nix, good call. Thanks for sharing your insight.
  16. Postgame interviews + writethroughs + Swannie House (guessing on that one) = full evening.
  17. Might have to wait a while for that one. (And that's not because jw's busy with the Sabres game tonight, either.)
  18. http://www.wkbw.com/news/local/80428217.ht...deo=YHI&t=a Nix: "We've started whittling the list down, and we'll start interviewing those guys. We'll come up with our two best candidates ranked, three at the most. We'll take them to Mr. Wilson, and we'll have a consensus and come out of there with one."
  19. 36 years on the beat. For the record, he wanted Kay Stephenson fired following the 1984 season instead of waiting four games into '85 to do it.
  20. You missed the quote from Nix saying, "We'll get our top two candidates, three at the outside, and then take them to Mr. Wilson"?
  21. It very well might be. Chuck Pollock, for one, seems to think that leaking the names of Shanahan and Cowher was intentional: POLLOCK: Bills coaching search seems aimless
  22. I'd say that whoever reported that from NFLN apparently doesn't have Ralph's phone number.
  23. Valid point. And I don't want the poo-flinging primates after me, so ...
