  1. *bump* this one more time, as a reminder. See ya there!
  2. Been there, done that already. Why - what did you think happened to him?
  3. Yeah. I have no doubt that even after Moulds got hurt last year, other teams' defenses were scared so silly by the dynamic duo of Josh Reed and Bobby Shaw that they decided to let Henry run wild on them. That would certainly explain why Henry's ypc average went up after Moulds got hurt, and why he averaged over 5 yards/carry (72-369, 5.1) in the games Moulds sat out completely.... I'm as anxious as the rest of you to see just how good Willis McGahee can be - heck, he's the only reason I picked Buffalo to win this week. And Henry has looked terrible this year. No denying that. But to suggest TH wasn't any good to begin with? Now you're just making stuff up.... to the point that I'm not even going to waste my time reading any more of it. Seeya.
  4. Thank you for pointing that out. Otherwise, someone might actually take seriously the idea that cutting Bledsoe -and that $6.5 million signing bonus - could be done before the offseason.
  5. He might just play defense and not do KRs, though. Situation to keep an eye on.
  6. FAR too much information. Happy Birthday to a fellow Scorpio!
  7. One of our starting CBs is still out, and the #3 is nicked up. Time to give our other starting CB more special-teams work? Might not be a good plan. As previously noted - McGee is the KR, Clements is the PR (and hasn't returned a kickoff since 2001). Even though he's never returned a kickoff in the regular season, Reed was the #2 KR through training camp and preseason. Shaud Williams is the only other player on the roster (other than up-backs like Fletcher or Shelton) who returned kickoffs in the preseason. And as previously mentioned, Burns has also returned a couple of kicks. Evans didn't return kicks in college. Wonder if there's a reason for that?
  8. True. Corning isn't that far, compared to New York City... or Florida... or San Diego...
  9. To be honest..... can you blame them?
  10. I think Haddad is also on the injury report this week. Safe guess would be Reed/Burns. EDIT: as of 7 PM Friday (Jason Bristol, Empire Sports Report), Haddad is a game-time decision.
  11. Ah, (bleep) it. I normally don't make predictions, but I'll give you the same stuff I just sent to Simon: "A gimpy 5'9" Terrence McGee, matched up against any one of three six-foot-plus Cardinals receivers. Not sure I like that... but I *have* to believe McGahee will find some running room against a Cardinals defense giving up 4.8 yards/carry. They might prove me wrong again, but.........." 20-10, Bills.
  12. Actually, that could be kinda fun.....
  13. True story: a friend of ours who saw Episode 1 before we had a chance to, told us "it's a pretty good movie, if you can ignore this one annoying character." What he didn't mention was the fact that that character was in 95% of the friggin' movie! The friend I saw it with is still waiting for a personal apology from Mr. Lucas....
  14. Thanks! But, I cheat. I slapped together an Excel spreadsheet a couple of years ago; all I have to do is transfer the applicable numbers....
  15. Not true - they're giving up 4.8 yds/carry, 118.2 yds/game, ranked 20th. They haven't given up any rushing TDs yet, though; that might be the stat you heard....
  16. Congrats to the happy couple, and I'll see y'all there!
  17. To really get the number right, you'd have to know how many of his rushing attempts were scrambles and how many were called running plays. I'll just go with attempts+sacks=dropbacks here to give you a rough idea.... JK 1994: 285-448, 3114 yds, 22 TD / 17 INT, 34 sacks - 253 yds lost, 84.62 rating (34 sacks - 482 dropbacks = 1 every 14.2 dropbacks) 1995: 255-458, 3130 yds, 22 TD / 13 INT, 26 sacks - 181 yds lost, 81.14 rating (26 sacks - 484 dropbacks = 1 every 18.6 dropbacks) 1996: 222-379, 2810 yds, 14 TD / 19 INT, 37 sacks - 287 yds lost, 73.21 rating (37 sacks - 416 dropbacks = 1 every 11.2 dropbacks) in comparison, Drew Bledsoe 2004: 99-173, 1210 yds, 6 TD / 7 INT, 24 sacks - 151 yds lost, 73.62 rating (24 sacks - 197 dropbacks = 1 every 8.2 dropbacks) And just for fun...... Drew's career numbers in Buffalo: 748-1254, 8429 yds, 41 TD / 34 INT, 127 sacks - 891 yds lost, 79.4 rating (127 sacks - 1381 dropbacks = 1 every 10.9 dropbacks) Rob's career numbers in Buffalo: 401-663, 4798 yds, 27 TD / 17 INT, 109 sacks - 659 yds lost, 85.53 rating (109 sacks - 772 dropbacks = 1 every 7.1 dropbacks)
  18. The only way I pay money to see that movie is if George Lucas himself promises me Jar Jar Binks dies a slow, painful, and messy death......
  19. That any relation to ProFootballTalk.com? Yeah, I thought so.......
  20. Gotta be the Amazin's. OK, beating the Yankees after being down 0-3 ranks as a great comeback, but Bawstahn had the team to do it with. (Heck, the only shocker I can think of about the Sox is how FEW World Series they've made it to, considering some of the Hall of Fame players they've had over the years.) '69 Mets = '80 USA hockey for the pure element of surprise. You realize they'd never even had a winning season before that year? That they'd finished 24 games behind the Cardinals (and 1 game out of last place) in 1968? Just my opinion..... no comparison.
  21. True. The trip to the 'Shoe should be reeeeal entertaining. And the answer to your question? I honestly don't know. I still see them signing All-American HS players (four more last year, five if you count Morelli), but I have no idea what happens to them after they get to Happy Valley. I can't even begin to believe how much Zack Mills has regressed - although the physical pounding he's taken these last few years might have something to do with that. (Now you know why I have so much sympathy for Drew, and for Rob before him....) Just like with the Bills, I thought the coaching changes would be an improvement. Now, I don't know what to think. And the "experts" are in the same boat - I've got the T+G preview open to the predictions page, and most of the beat reporters were saying 7-5, 8-4 with a bowl game... "The Lions will be better because Galen Hall will bring a new vitality to Penn State's offensive philosophy." -Phil Grosz, Blue White Illustrated "This will be a better team. Not great, but better." -Ryan Hockensmith, ESPN The Magazine (and former Collegian sports editor) "The offense improves dramatically behind a solid offensive line and the tough running of Austin Scott and Tony Hunt." -Frank Bodani, York Daily Record They don't get it. Neither do I. And apparently, neither does the coaching staff. .....sigh......
  22. Good question. If they know you live in the blackout area, it might not be. Where are our Sunday Ticket experts? (As for me, our only FOX affiliate down here is out of Johnstown PA, so it wasn't going to be on here anyway....)
  23. Yup - for my birthday last weekend, the offensive players from my two favorite teams got together to give me six hours of unwatchable football. Thanks, guys....
