  1. Likewise. Need anything, Cindy, you know my number....
  2. Eggzactly. They've gone too far into the "Entertainment" part of their moniker, and as a result, they're skimping on the "Sports" programming. And when Skip freakin' Bayless is the new voice of ESPN, the End Times are surely upon us. (I just know that's somewhere in Revelations.... )
  3. I'm enough of a trivia geek to be amused by the Schwab. (But c'mon, how could he forget Dave Krieg as the QB Derrick Thomas sacked 7 times... and still threw the TD pass on the final play to beat the Chiefs in that game, while DT was one step away from sack #8?) Still, they're showing this in PRIME TIME? Ptooey.
  4. He's entitled to his opinion. Doesn't mean he's correct. And lest we forget, Pompei's 2004 predictions included the Broncos beating the Seahawks in Super Bowl XXXIX. Other gems of prognostication by Pompei: -Rams over Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVIII, 2003... (actual: Pats/Panthers) -Rams over Dolphins in Super Bowl XXXVII, 2002... (actual: Bucs/Raiders) -Buccaneers over Broncos in Super Bowl XXXVI, 2001... (actual: Pats/Rams) -Lions in Super Bowl XXXV, 2000..... (actual: Ravens/Giants) Yes, he was the guy who picked the Lions a few years back. I'm not making this up.
  5. You know what makes it even worse? Not only do they have a solid two-hour block of talkfest in the afternoon (of which PTI makes the only useful contribution), not only are they showing dreck like "Teammates" and "Bowling Night" in primetime... but now, they've taken their BEST shows (Outside the Lines, Baseball Tonight, NFL Live, etc.), chopped them to 20 minutes each, and dumped them into a post-midnight slot. If I was Bob Ley, I'd be close to giving up on the "Worldwide Leader". He must hate what has happened to ESPN in the last few years; I know I do....
  6. He's NOT on the roster now, and hasn't been since the end of the season - he was a restricted FA who the Bills declined to tender a 2005 contract. And what backup OG other than Pucillo would you rather have kept last August? Richard Seals? Jasen Esposito? It's not like the Bills had 12 guards in camp. (OTs, maybe, but not guards.)
  7. Actually, Gandy was a third-round pick for the Bears in 2002.... 68th overall, or 27 spots ahead of Jonas Jennings. As for Tucker, don't forget he started four games at C last year while Teague was hurt, including the Bills' first two Ws of the season.
  8. The date I've heard is Saturday, July 16th.... (...at which time the computers will probably crash again... )
  9. CNJBBB ordered from Jay. And I second the thought - you da man, Jay!
  10. Do I. No doubt in my mind, the Bengals would've won that game with him in there. It was funny - TKO was getting booed during the pregame warmups at the game in Cincy last year, but there were a bunch of 'Gals fans down at Buffalo's end of the field yelling stuff like, "We still love you Tim!" (In fact, the catcalls aimed at Spikes kept up into the second quarter.... right up until the play where he turfed Rudi Johnson, then caught the screen pass and headed for the opposite endzone. After that, the Cincy fans were too busy gathering up their stuff and leaving to say a whole lot.... )
  11. Just the players? If you include the coaches, I'll take Krumrie.
  12. Dave. You've been here how long, and you still haven't figgered out how to drive this go-kart?
  13. Personally, I've been forwarding my phishes to spoof@ebay.com lately. Probably doesn't do any good, but at least I feel like I'm helping them go after these bastages....
  14. It started when Parcells and C-Mart left for the Jets, then got worse when Bruce Armstrong and Ben Coates got old....
  15. You think? I know quite a few people who would completely disagree. As for me, I think he's a borderline candidate, but he will get some consideration... Plus, he's a lock for the Bills Wall of Fame in a few more years, and the publicity from that could help his HOF candidacy. As for the off the field 'issues', remember that Michael Irvin just made the top 15 in his first year of eligibility. Sure, a couple of voters might leave CB off their ballots as a protest... but whether or not he eventually gets into Canton, it'll be because of what he did on the field, not off it.
  16. Bashing on Crouthamel, Gavin? Welcome to the dark side......
  17. Didn't realize Donahoe has editorial control over USA Today Sports Weekly covers...
  18. What? Florio wrote a novel? Thn again, he has had plenty of practice writing fiction.....
  19. Really? They finally finish the roof at Texas Stadium? About time.
  20. LT - Leonard Davis, their 2001 #1 pick RT - Oliver Ross, signed from Pittsburgh as a FA That's according to Ourlad's, anyhow. (Note that the last update on that site was a couple of weeks ago, and still lists Shelton.)
  21. FFS, I'm not going to take on your entire post, but I would like to comment on this: I think 'ambivalent' is the word I'd use for how most of the fanbase viewed Bledsoe by the time of his departure. I'll use my workplace as an example: by far, the most negative reactions to DB's release came from the Patriots fans I know who are happy they have Brady, but still respect Drew. They think TD is nuts. The other negative reactions came from Cowboys fans, after he signed in Dallas - they think Parcells is nuts. When the Bledsoe-to-Cleveland rumor popped up on WGR, the Browns fans I work with thought it was a horrible idea (although they're not real amused with losing Holcomb and trading for Dilfer, either.) The Bills fans? They're mostly shrugging and saying "okay, let's see what the kid's got." Like I said, ambivalent. One other note: Clements' fumbled punt in the Pitt game led to a Stiller FG, not a TD, so your "taken away by laying the ball on the carpet as much as he giveth with his TD return" line is inaccurate.
  22. Even if the Bills had made the playoffs, I believe there would have been an open competition in training camp this summer - Drew's caphit, plus the thought of having a #1 pick cooling his heels on the bench for a second year, would have forced the issue. TD went with "potential" before, when he chose RJ over Flutie. (That move was also partly financial, since the 'dead money' caphit for cutting RJ would've been worse than the one for Flutie.) I see no reason he wouldn't make the same decision again. But yeah, Bill, in the end that Pittsburgh game was undoubtedly what tipped the scales in JP's favor. Not just that the Bills lost, but the way Drew played in that game. (Yes, I know other players didn't acquit themselves well that day, either. But a mistake made by the QB is a lot easier to spot than, say, a missed tackle or a dropped pass...) I forget which of the guys on GR said this, in the week or two right after that game. It was someone I don't normally agree with (which could apply to most everyone there except for Simon), and it may have been a little harsher than I'd have put it, but he made a good point: if your QB is going to make rookie-type mistakes, I'd rather have a rookie making those mistakes (and learning from them) than watch a 12-year veteran make those same mistakes.
  23. Not that I'm disagreeing.... but once you rebuild the towers even taller (as some of you suggest), who ya gonna get to rent/buy office space on the top 10 or 20 floors?
