1. They should have them when training camp opens.
2. 28 posts in this thread, and hardly any mention of the Dallas offensive line. Interesting. Will FA pickup RG Marco Rivera be ready following back surgery? Which of the UDFA currently listed on the depth chart at RT will win the job? (Or will Parcells shift Flozell Adams to the right side, and take his chances with someone else - recent draft picks Jacob Rogers or Rob Petitti, perhaps - at LT?) And what effect will the move of Tony Sparano from TEs coach to OL coach have? I like Witten a lot, and wish the Bills had someone like him... but until I see some answers to those OL questions, I don't care how good he is.
3. (Bleep) that, Nick - you were here on TSW for 9/11, you remember what we were like that day. Be as 'snappy' as you damn well want to. And stay safe, Bills brother. Our thoughts are with you, and with everyone affected by today's events.
4. Yup.... and then, at the end of that year, they told Kelly he "wasn't in their plans for the future"...
5. Pergament's always good for a few memorable quips.... He missed a golden opportunity with his last shot, though: How about something that directly ties in with WGR's heritage - "When sports news breaks out, we break in" !! (I'd love to take credit for that slam, but I ripped it off from another board I read. Yezi, if you're on here, you rock....)
6. That's a pretty safe bet. ...errr, you were trying to be sarcastic, correct?
7. Many more years than Donahoe has been in Buffalo. Bills RBs have collectively averaged more than 4.0 ypc exactly twice since Will Wolford moved on after the 1992 season, in 1997 and 2002. Sack stats haven't been appreciably different, either - with the exception of 1999, when Flutie ran for his life and Bills opponents only registered 27 takedowns, last year's total of 38 was the fewest sacks given up since 1995.
8. When I see a reference to 'combat engineers', I automatically think of the guys who built the footbridges across the Meuse in the dark, mere yards in front of the Maxim gunners, so the AEF could cross... As for the SEALs, this is a Cliff-notes version of their history: http://www.navyseals.com/community/navyseals/history.cfm Interestingly, no mention of Navy Special Warfare units (they still weren't officially called SEALs before 1962) south of Key West, in the general vicinity of the Bay of Pigs thingy...even though I know someone who was there. Guess that might still be classified? And if you want to know Lt. McGreevy, you need to read this:
9. Close, Rock - Gernsback called it "scientifiction"; John W. Campbell, Jr. is more closely associated with "science fiction". And some people I used to know even got downright surly about the use of "sci-fi", since the correct abbreviation is SF.... (source: English 191, "History of Science Fiction"; Pennsylvania State University, Spring 1987. Here, meet my prof.) If/when I see this movie, I won't expect it to live up to Wells' original vision... but I won't take it to task for a mere change of venue, either. (After all, Orson Welles relocated it to New Jersey a long time ago.) What I will expect is something that approximates the spirit of HGW's work - if Spielberg gets that right, the film will be worth watching. (That's why the previews of I, Robot were enough to convince me to stay far away - 30 seconds of footage was more than enough to tell me it was no longer Asimov's story...) PS: Thanks for the link to the WKBW version, Tom - I've been wanting to get my hands on that for a while now.
10. Rheem? I told him to get rid of the #5 jersey..... http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...07entry369207 The curse lives.
11. Yes... but not without a little help from one of the Bills sponsors, who bought the last couple of thousand tix... from 2004:Turkey Hill to give out free tickets
12. I was assuming Buckey as an 'effect', not a 'cause', but I could be wrong....
13. My head would explode from the data upload. If you guys are PhD-level in military history, I'm somewhere around junior high (and sketchy on anything post-Great War, at that).
14. WKBW.com Sports News - Former Bills player in Southern Tier accident Jun 29, 2005 - Former Bills Guard Ruben Brown escaped with only minor injuries Tuesday in this accident in the Southern Tier. The Chicago Bears offensive lineman was involved in a crash on Route-17 in the town of Chemung early Tuesday morning. His truck and trailer left the road, Brown and his son Benjamin were treated for facial cuts. Police say he apparently fell asleep at the wheel on his way to family summer home on Long Island.
15. I was afraid he was talking about RubEn. Please do us a favor next time. When a former Bills Pro-Bowler gets into a car accident...: a.) Spell his name correctly so we know who the hell you're talking about b.) Don't provide minimal details c.) If minimal details are all you have, provide a link. 370400 a. Fifty lashes with a wet noodle to anyone who misspells a player's name from now on. Apparently, however, most people here were able to deduce who Keuka was talking about. b. The original post probably contains all the details available at that time. c. How exactly does one provide a link to a story one saw on a TV broadcast? Please enlighten us. Regards, Lori
16. What other terror group attacked us on 911? So you think 911 is the only terror attack worth retaliation? Allrighty then.... Boggles the mind, doesn't it? 371172 I'm starting to have a real problem with this whole "No Child Left Behind" thingy. It's obviously not working.
17. Nice of them to "officially" announce this... finally...
18. What other terror group attacked us on 911? So you think 911 is the only terror attack worth retaliation? Allrighty then....
19. His take on the Bills seems to fit the general consensus of the national media types. I don't have a problem with it. But this? High praise indeed, for two players - including one who played DE in college, not LB - who have yet to play their first NFL game. We'll see.
20. Heck, Brad, most of the people HERE can't spell his name right....
21. Nonsense. Now, picking Bucky Brooks and Friggin' Lonnie with the next two selections...... you might have a valid argument with that one...
