  1. I'm assuming you'd already deduced that from some of the reactions here to the various preseason forecasts. "What? They're not picking the Bills all the way? How DARE they?!??!?!?" Bills D was higher-ranked than SD in just about every defensive stat last year - yardage, points allowed, sacks, and turnovers. Most of the Chargers' 2004 success traces directly back to having had the #3 scoring offense (and #1 in the league in red-zone production). But yeah, if the announcer was talking solely about 12-4 vs. 9-7, he had a valid point....
  2. Looks like WHAM-13 is the Bills TV station in Rochester, and they've got it listed live at 8PM next Saturday night: http://www.iknowrochester.com/entertainment/programming/
  3. BTW - aussie phoned in a few minutes ago. Having a great time even though she and Fezmid might be the only Bills fans there, says hi to everyone, Go Bills, etc., etc. (For those of you with tapes/Tivo - Fez is wearing a Spikes jersey. Should be fairly easy to find amid the sea of green and yellow.... )
  4. Bumping this up. Great idea, Cindy. If you're at the store tomorrow, I'll try to drop by...
  5. Nah, got one more 12-8 to work. (In fact, I should probably be sleeping right now.) Grab a nap tomorrow AM, then head over to the Big 30 game (local HS all-stars) in Bradford, so I probably won't get to it till sometime Sunday...
  6. Something tells me that when I replay this tape, I'll be hitting the mute button. Sad, when they can't even get their own players' names right (Lucas or Lewis?), and the topper was Sharpe's amazement that a football team called the Sabrecats actually exists.
  7. Well then.... what the flip TOOK you so long?!?!?!? Kidding. Welcome (officially) aboard!
  8. Hola, PopUp! Were you the one who introduced yourself that Saturday night, and asked if we were the people from TBD?
  9. Sad sign of the times: the ESPN.com button for the NHL is below the ones for golf and tennis. I may be a Habs fan, but I've probably seen just about as many Sabres games as most of you the last few years (R.I.P., Empire. ), so I feel somewhat qualified to open my yap on the subject. This outsider's fact-free opinions: Satan = floater of the first magnitude. Guy's got skills, sure, when he decides to show up. I hear Gainey's looking at him for Montreal. Cue that old Bruce Smith soundbite.... "I'm overwhelmed with joy." Zhitnik - you're probably better off with him than without him, but isn't he the same guy Ann Burke once dubbed "Cementhead" when he managed to get himself suspended during a playoff series? (That nickname always made me chuckle.) There's a lot to like about your team. Vanek is the real deal, and so is Roy. Briere should inherit the C - should have kept it in the first place, instead of the "Captain of the Month" deal they had going in 03-04. And I've always liked Drury. Use Satan's $$$ to get somebody like Sergei Gonchar? Stop spinning the Wheel O' Goalies? Playoff hockey returns to HSBC Arena in April 2006. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get MSG down here.
  10. Here ya go, JSP (and other fellow Keystoners):
  11. JF swept the Bills in 2000, while Wade was still here. That, I'll agree with. Pretty funny... but one thing Pennington is, or was, is accurate. We're talking career 65.8% completion rate. Actually, Chad throwing 60 yards with the same accuracy would be an improvement.......
  12. Based on his career W-L record against the Bills, I'm not sure that's a good thing.... As for Hanging Chad, rotator cuff injuries are something I happen to have first-hand knowledge of. (Ouch.) I can't imagine trying to throw a football 60 yards, a few months post-op. (Then again, I couldn't throw a football 60 yds. before I shredded mine, so never mind..... )
  13. If not you, somebody else would have asked. And feel free to harass GBID for not clearing things up by saying, "See TBD front page" instead..... Ouch.
  14. Links are here: www.twobillsdrive.com In other words, "See front page."
  15. Damn good question, and it depends on one's point of view. Going back to Northern Ireland: Our family background is Protestant, so if I had grown up there, I'd probably be glad the Royal Army was there to protect me from the IRA. I imagine Gavin, a real live Irish Catholic, would have a far different opinion of the situation..... To your post-WWII references - I'm not really sure when our forces morphed from occupiers to (somewhat) welcome allies. Probably not before the new, U.S.-friendly constitutions/governments were in place, though.
  16. Suh-WEEET rig, Andy - I've been thinking about finally dumping the ol' A1 frames for a digital Rebel, but you've given me something else to consider. Thanks for sharing some great shots! (Side note to Fez - it depends on the lens. I've got an old 100-300 zoom that (just barely) sneaks under the 6-inch limit, and the 500m is only about 4". They just put that in the rules this year, though, so I have yet to 'discuss' the issue with stadium security....)
  17. I'll be up there sometime next week, but I don't know if I can top this. Thanks muchly, BGIM - you just saved me the $ 0.50 I was going to spend on a BuffNews this morning....
  18. Oooh. Them's fightin' words.
  19. Impressive, Todd. Can't say as I've heard of that happening to anyone I know. In the spirit of those yuppies behind you.... **golf clap** Last time I had seats that good was for Mac, in Indy a couple of years ago. As soon as the opening notes for "The Chain" started, NOBODY sat down. (Well, at least not until they started playing songs from the new album, and the people whose knowledge of the band begins and ends with Rumours got confused about hearing something they didn't recognize....)
  20. check this thread.... http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=26930
  21. You're the expert, clump - how many players would the Bills have to cut to get T.O.'s contract under the cap, AND eat Lee Evans' hit? That's what I thought. Guess I'm safe buying that Evans jersey after all.....
  22. I've been waiting for the Deadskins to cut Gardner outright. Getting a 6th-rounder was a bonus for them.
  23. I have the perfect solution... Curling match. Winner takes all.
  24. Ummmm.... except Law is damaged goods, since he's coming off surgery on the broken left foot that put him out for the season last October.
