  1. Higher than the third round? Because that's where Crowell was drafted....
  2. Far as I know, Crowell was in for the whole second half.
  3. Piling on: The Bucs had one of the top 10 defenses in the league, based on last year's yardage/points-against stats - and that's with McFarland missing half the season due to injury. With "Booger" back, there was no reason to think they wouldn't be just as good this year. New England, the Jets, and (believe it or not) Denver are the only other top-10 defenses on the schedule, and three of those five games are at home.
  4. Bastage. Then again, gallows humor always was one of your specialties...
  5. Williams' is an ankle (for those of you who didn't see it, he got rolled up on from behind). Fletcher has a hamstring injury. Both will be re-evaluated when the team gets back to Buffalo.
  6. At that point, I would've taken my medicine - run, run, run, and try to get Moorman some room. That situation is practically unwinnable in any road game, much less against a solid D like Tampa's.
  7. Exactly. And barring a defensive penalty, the first down wasn't going to happen - they were on him way too quick to make any kind of a play. If he hadn't run himself out of bounds, whatever pass he planned on uncorking probably would've ended up being caught by a guy in a white jersey.... The Bucs still got a TD on the ensuing drive, but at least they had to work a little to get it instead of being handed a freebie.
  8. In the preview, I listed Brooks/Barber/Kelly as all having the potential to take one back for six. What are the odds that all THREE of them would have the chance, and not convert ANY of them? Plus, the safety probably would've been a sack/fumble/TD most any other time.
  9. Postmortem: Caddy's pretty good - tough to bring down. He'll have a few more 100+ yard games this year, and in years to come. Good playcalling by Muir; all the early dink-and-dunk West Coast bull$%^ to the RBs got the ball out of Griese's hands quick and spread out the D sideline to sideline. That, combined with the complete inability of the Bills O to get so much as a first down before the two-minute drill at the end of the first half, helped empty the gas tank. Losing Fletcher was the last straw... Said it during training camp and preseason; no reason to quit now - if Greg Jerman has to play for any length of time, we are in deep, deep trouble. Worst-case scenario for JP's first road start. The haters will be out in full force after this one... but as upset as we are about his performance, I guarantee we're not as upset as HE is. If he's the kind of guy I think he is, he uses this as a learning experience. Now for the upside: non-conference game, and New England is losing too. If Carolina holds on, and if the Jests can get by Miami, there's a 4-way tie in the AFC East... and another game to play next weekend.
  10. Damn. Knew I should've drafted Josh Reed instead of Lee Evans....
  11. Based on what we're seeing with Fletcher out of the lineup today, anyone care to revisit this?
  12. Dillon, Rudi Johnson, Willie *!ing Parker off the top of my head...
  13. Pittman up the middle. Right where Fletcher would have been.
  14. Once again, can anybody give me a rational explanation for Greg Jerman's continued employment? (#76 on your roster - in this afternoon's performance, Mr. Jerman will be playing the part of a revolving door...) Here's hoping MWilliams' leg isn't as bad as it looked, because if it is this season could go south in a hurry.
  15. Can't believe none of you has noticed that Angelo Crowell, not London Fletcher, has played the entire second half at MLB. EDIT: Ah - a couple of people caught on while I was checking the tape to make sure.....
  16. Uh-ohhhhhhhhh. BigMike down, Peters in. This could get worse in a hurry.
  17. V-coach bulletin - Carnell Williams has a foot injury, and his return is questionable.
  18. Umm, we're watching the Buffalo game. That's why the post read 'around the league'...
  19. Around the league: CIN 27 MIN 0 - is Cincy that good, or are the Vikes that bad? Or both? JAX 0 IND 0 at halftime - no way. PHI 28 SF 0 - no surprises there. PIT 20 HOU 0 at the half - apparently Houston IS that bad. TEN 13 BAL 0 CHI 24 DET 6 - 14 yds rushing and 2 INTs from the Lions O. Maybe the Bears D IS that good. CAR 17 NE 7 - Addendum: Chicago just picked Joey H. for a TD. Yeah, they're pretty good on D.
  20. What, the Cincinnati game is that boring? I'd wish evil things on you, but Chad and Shayne are starting for me this week...
  21. Conditioning? Not in my opinion. TB already has almost a 10-minute edge in TOP - that's on the offense. 5 straight three-and-outs, including the safety...
  22. Anyone catch the pick by CWilliams on that pass play? Used to be illegal. Ah well....
