  1. Must be he got the same e-mail I did.
  2. To update this - the latest number I've heard is $5,893,000. At that price, letting Clements walk would be pure idiocy.
  3. Rams offense sucked swamp water before Faulk got there, consistently ranking 20th or below. And the Colts had Marvin Harrison for three years before Faulk left. Nice try, though. Ciao.
  4. More on this, for the reading-comprehension impaired: Faulk never averaged over 4.1 yards/carry in Indy, and the team never managed better than a 9-7 record. They give him -- GIVE HIM -- to the Rams for 2nd- and 5th-round picks; once in St. Louis, all he does is average well over 5 yards/carry his first three seasons and help lead the team to two Super Bowls (winning one). Hence -- in my opinion, the Colts didn't use him as well as they could have. Don't know how much simpler I can make it.
  5. ...to a 3-13 season in 1998, the only year they played together.
  6. Yeah, but he was still a Colt in the Wade/Cottrell era. MarshallMarshallMarshall had decent numbers in Indy, but I never thought they used him as well as they could/should have...
  7. I like Kiwanuka, but I like Tamba better. But then again, I'm not exactly unbiased....
  8. Does the parking lot belong to the factory? If so, they can do whatever they damn well please. Back when our factory used to make glass Pepsi bottles, woe to the person who showed up with a can of pop in their lunchbox...
  9. Ohhh, is that how it's supposed to work? I just blitz on every play...
  10. They've met, but you're correct - I think Jauron said he spent more time talking to Marv during the interview than he did the entire time he was coaching in Chicago. I was addressing the perception that Marv had any ulterior motives for picking Jauron over Sherman. Guess I could've done a better job.
  11. I was thinking about that TD quote myself, earlier today. It was easy for Donahoe to give a glib answer when he was on the ESPN payroll -- "Flutie's 21-9 as a starter, what's the question?" -- but once he actually got to Buffalo and examined the situation from the team's point of view, he ended up picking RJ instead... Marv has already made one "unpopular" decision since coming back; Sherman's W-L record would have made him a much easier 'sell' to a still-surly fan base/local media. But he chose Jauron instead, even though he had to figure he'd take a P.R. hit for it. For that reason, I'm not buying into the idea that Jauron's only here because he's a Friend of Marv. Will hiring Jauron end up being the correct call? Way too early too tell... but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, and at least wait until he's actually coached a game or three here before declaring his tenure an unmitigated disaster.
  12. No he's not, he's San Fran's answer to Jennings-a-la-Cart. Sobieski signed a two-year deal with SF a couple of weeks ago.
  13. Ya know - all those blitzes were fun, when they worked. But once they stopped working... Oy.
  14. Not against the Bills in general (although I imagine that will continue); against Ralph. Last time I heard him on GR, he was off on some rant about how everyone else in the media pays RCW too much respect by calling him "Mr. Wilson", etc., etc. If you heard the PC when Ralph went after him, there was some pretty loud laughter from JS's colleagues. Guessing he didn't enjoy being the source for their amusement... JMO.
  15. Worst of the last five years, or worst Bills coach? None of those three even make the all-time finals, and Wade is one of the three all-time best coaches in franchise history. Harvey Johnson (2-23-2). John Rauch (7-20-1). Jim Ringo (3-20). Kay Stephenson (10-26). Hank Bullough (4-17).
  16. How's that old adage go? "Never pick a fight with a man who buys his ink by the barrel." Read any of Sullivan's columns since the first PC -- the one where Ralph got him with the "every time you ask a question I need to up my dose of Prozac" line, while the rest of the media snickered in the background -- and you'll have a clear-cut example of same. Sully's on a mission.
  17. Torn triceps muscle is what put him out this season - happened in the first game vs. Buffalo. He also turned 35 on Monday, and signed a six-year contract extension in 2002.
  18. You'll learn to appreciate my sardonic sense of humor. Or you'll decide I'm incredibly annoying. Either way -- welcome aboard...
