  1. If he was asking for passes/etc. as a former player, that's one thing -- but that story says media credentials. FYI - this notice has been up on the nflmedia.com website since before the playoffs started: So... can't give you an exact date, but it had to be before the first of the year.
  2. One more note to add to Promo's last post -- football seating probably wouldn't equal hockey seating. Not sure they'd even try to sell some of the upper deck, since you'd never be able to see the puck from up there. The Wisky-OSU game yesterday got about 40,000 in 72,000-seat Lambeau Field. UW won, and the entire team celebrated with a Lambeau Leap. Very cool... and I don't mean temperature-wise...
  3. That would make you a minority, then.
  4. I detest newspapers that force you to register to read their stuff. (Heck, the article wasn't THAT good...)
  5. Short article on Brian in this morning's Pittsburg Sun; you can find the link on the TBD main page. Password-restricted, though: userid: gobills pw: gobills
  6. Brown's best season was 1963, when he rushed for 1,863 yards. Simpson entered the final game of 1973 with 1,802 yards, and passed Brown's record on the first play of Buffalo's second drive.
  7. That bastage has birthdays? May ALL your Hours be Happy today, Bri. Bet it's not snowing out there....
  8. Actually, I wouldn't know the first thing about using a urinal... Vilma was down this year? Led the entire league in tackles and was voted Jets MVP by his teammates. Guess we'll have to agree to disagree about him. The larger point, though -- that sent me back to the original draft thread you put up, to find out what got you so irritated: and ...and it goes downhill from there. Should you have been called a moron? No. I would suggest, however, that the bad attitude started with your posts, not with the replies... and that both sides of the argument could do with a little less schoolyard "IS TOO!!!" "IS NOT!!!" "IS TOO!!" smack right about now. But hey, that's just my opinion...
  9. How's your $$$ situation? "Sabres game tonight? I'll bring the Labatt's. What did you say your address was again?"
  10. Also depends on who's chasing him...
  11. Wow -- where to begin? I guess with the idea that coming off a severe knee injury, back-to-back 1000-yard seasons for a mediocre team makes McGahee an 'underachiever'. Santana Moss: Led his team in receiving each of the last three years. Fairly consistent, I'd say, especially considering the Jets finished up 2004 -- Moss's one sub-1000-yard season in the last three -- with Quincy Carter and an injured Chad Pennington splitting time at QB. DJ Williams: third in Defensive ROY voting last season to fellow 'Cane Jonathan Vilma. Oops -- forgot about Vilma? He should be at #12, between Winslow and Williams. You can also find him at this year's Pro Bowl. Bubba Franks: six seasons, three Pro Bowls. Another underachiever? All righty then... Ryan McNeil was a second-round pick in 1993, #33 to the Lions. The Lions dealt their first-round pick to the Saints. And I thought I hated the "U" just about as much as anyone. Guess I was wrong.
  12. Leaving our team out of this one - do you think they'll make the playoffs any time soon? Heck, the game against the Bills was about the only halfway decent one the Raiduhs played last season. Not sure, but I think that makes me feel even worse...
  13. Eight sellouts in the last eleven games. Not Adelphia-freebie-padded sellouts, either. I haven't been to a Sabres game since they played at the Aud. Would I go to the Ralph to watch an outdoor game? You damn betcha...
  14. Tell you what, even I was thinking of making that trip. Get this -- they didn't even SHOW that game down here in the States. (I was lucky enough to be in Buffalo that weekend, and caught it on one of the Canadian channels I can't get down here in PA...) (Bleep) the weather, that whole atmosphere was just UNREAL. Once-in-a-lifetime stuff. Think I've still got a pic of Theodore wearing the toque on top of his goalie mask...
  15. Yeah, but if you started doing stuff like that, the Hall would have to bulldoze Fawcett Field to find enough room to expand...
  16. Think we decided he was either joining the Navy SEALs or going to jail. Can't remember which.
  17. Nope - glass container industry. Been ten years, but I still remember the mandated "employee attendance improvement" lecture I got upon returning to work shortly after having my thyroid nuked with I-131. Considering that I was still sweating out trace amounts of isotopes (and a couple of days away from going into full-scale 'thyroid storm') at the time, in retrospect, I think I should've spit in his coffee..... Gotta admit, though, USMC's got me beat. As much as I detest said job, I can still manage to punch out and go home without anyone shooting at me. (Unless it's deer season. No guarantees then. )
  18. That was good. About Kolber -- did you know she uses a teleprompter for her sideline gig? Saw it during the Denver game; the screen is about the size of a portable DVD player, mounted on a monopod that puts it right at eye-level. What, she can't memorize a twenty-second soundbite?
  19. re: Billy Shaw - I've talked to him a couple of times, and he's very proud to be the only "AFL-only" player in the Hall. As for the teams without HOF representation, Frez's link nails it. There are no "primary" enshrinees from the Falcons, Ravens, Jaguars, or Panthers. Anthony Munoz is the only "primary" Bengal, Elway the only Bronco, Lee Roy Selmon the only Buccaneer, Steve Largent the only Seahawk, and 'contributor' Jim Finks the only Saint...
  20. FYI - a Bills media guide confirms your calculation.
  21. Sick days? Hah. We're not allowed to get sick. Around here, they're called "occurrences". Three in twelve months, you get a verbal warning. Six, written. Nine, three days suspension. Twelve, out the door unless you're related to someone in management. This includes the day my brother called in for me because I was on my way to the emergency room. Another guy got an occurrence for having a heart attack and leaving before the end of the shift... (in an ambulance, of course...) BTW, that's in a union shop.
  22. Skip Clueless? I've hated him ever since he was the head a__kisser for the Cowboys, back when they were playing the Bills in those Super Bowls... Plus, he smirks.
  23. Hiya, Bipolar. goTitans, huh? Used to have some visitors from over thataway a while back. Starkiller still around?
