  1. Agreed. Funny thing is, here's their take on Gabe Watson, who even Michigan fans admit isn't exactly a "high-motor" type: Everyone's entitled to their opinion, I guess...
  2. I remain convinced that PP-FS JJ's success was the product of the Herschel Walker trade. Good coach? Yes. Great coach? No "great" coach goes out by getting hammered 62-7 in a playoff game.
  3. http://www.ourlads.com/2006NFLMockDraft.html Their take on Ngata: "Boom or bust player. Did not play up to measurables, but will be drafted high because every coach thinks they can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear."
  4. Yup. Even Coach Robinson could've caught Testaverde.
  5. Might want to think about editing that paragraph... 'cause I don't think RJ is leading anyone anywhere this season.
  6. Not yet. (Remember, I live in the back of beyond - nearest bookstore of any kind is 25 miles away, nearest Barnes&Noble is two hours.) Now that you mention it, though, it might be a good day for a drive...
  7. One more thought on this: don't bet the house on Houston staying put and taking Reggie Bush. They may or may not think DaBrick is worthy of the #1 pick, but they could pull the same kind of deal San Diego did a few years ago -- let someone else in the top 5 trade up in to take the "must-have" guy (Atlanta/Michael Vick), still end up with a pretty good player (Tomlinson), and add a couple of extra picks/players in the process. (And yeah, calling LT 'pretty good' was sarcasm. Sorry, Willis, but I'd take Tomlinson as my #1 RB any day.) Gary Kubiak was on NFLnet Total Access last night. Rich Eisen asked him about RBush; Kuby talked about him a little, then mentioned two other players: Vince Young (the hometown favorite) and "the tackle". Consider, also, that Kubiak spent most of the last 20 years with the Broncos -- who haven't used a #1 pick on a RB since Steve Sewell.
  8. Would've been an easier sell before the Jets cut Fabini. With Mawae and Kendall possibly following him out the door, and all this taking place a year after they let their other OT (Kareem McKenzie) get away, I have to think they'll be looking OL early and often.
  9. Wondered when someone would get around to mentioning the Grim Reaper...
  10. Whole other category -- "Cheapshotting Punks".
  11. I still remember watching that the day it happened. That was also the day I became a big Jim Everett fan.
  12. Whatever happened to making the system fit the players?
  13. $3 million is a lot of $$$ for a kicker. That said, I bet Parcells has already called him.
  14. On offense. Different story on the defensive line: Richard Seymour - 2001 #6 overall Ty Warren - 2003 #13 overall Vince Wilfork - 2004 #21 overall
  15. Or it could be the roster bonus MW was due on March 3rd...
  16. from Gil Brandt, NFL.com Senior Analyst: Quick hits from Indy: Day 1 Draft and Combine tidbits Brandt's pre-Combine rankings: Offense Brandt's pre-Combine rankings: Defense (The first two are the articles cut/pasted above, in their native habitat.)
  17. (The closest I could come to a "screaming in horror" smiley...)
  18. OK, so I'm not the only one who absolutely hated the new unis. Good. I was even thinking about starting a thread just for that reason... Different shade of blue and only two stripes instead of three, but from the back, the Swedish jerseys reminded me of your Sabres blue/gold roadies. And just like football jerseys, hockey sweaters should have block numbers. Old school. Good stuff. JMO...
  19. RACK IT! Had to give one more *bump* to an early candidate for Post of the Year....
  20. Check the avatar/title. That's all I'm sayin'.
  21. ... or should that be ? This is the best recap of the 2005 season I've read, and all in one sentence. Nicely done...
