  1. No. Reggie Howard was benched in favor of rookie Travis Daniels three weeks into the season, and finished the year as the nickel DB (except for the New Orleans game, which Sam Madison sat out with a knee injury).
  2. I know people used to call Empire all the time to get tapes of high school sports hilites involving their teams. Call/e-mail the station; I bet they'd be able to help you out somehow.
  3. Riiiiight. That would be why there were 1,450 people hitting the Wall at the same time, the afternoon TD left. But wait, you wouldn't know that, would you... because that was five days before you registered. So I guess Jim Caldwell talked Sherman into keeping Moulds?
  4. No, he wasn't. Wade had been the HC for two years when "Black Thursday" happened.
  5. Seven years, $46 million, just shy of a 10 million bonus, according to this: http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/sports/fo...ll/11614448.htm "In 2006, Owens' base salary will drop to $770,000, then rise to $5.5 million in 2007, $6.5 million in 2008, $7.5 million in 2009 and $8.5 million in 2010." So: if they were to do a deal right now, we'd get stuck with Moulds' caphit plus TO's $5 million roster bonus (due next month) and $770K 2006 salary, PLUS his escalating salaries for 2007-2010, for a guy who's the same age as Eric and has already talked his way off two teams. Maybe it's just because I can't stand T.O., but I don't think I'm interested in that deal...
  6. Seems to be a lot of that going around, the last couple of years or so...
  7. Because if they did a Moulds-for-Owens trade they'd be on the hook not only for E-Mo's $5+ million caphit, but the balance of the 7-year, $40something-million contract T.O. signed in Philly last season? Just a thought...
  8. Most NFL contracts are NOT "guaranteed". He got a $5 million signing bonus when he restructured last year, so I think daninator is correct -- if they cut him loose now, he won't be getting any more $$$ from Ralph.
  9. But posting from the Temple comp/sci building. That normally takes a student account, or at least it used to. Not that I care, really -- I just saw the opening to take yet another cheapshot at Temple, solely for the "benefit" of an alumnus who posts here. Carry on...
  10. Temple. That does explain a few things... ...right, Jes?
  11. ...and yet another take on the story, this one courtesy of Vic Carucci: Speculation on trade for top pick already hot
  12. Didn't we already draft him a couple of years ago? Name sounds familiar...
  13. Same topic, but different link. How 'bout we merge it instead?
  14. And Noble might never play again -- in fact, he's probably lucky to be alive after a bout with MRSA: Washington Post article
  15. Not for anything more than the veteran minimum, and I doubt he'd come here for that. Can't stay healthy, and got toasted several times last season (Denver and San Diego games immediately come to mind.) Not exactly a fan favorite in New England, either, although they didn't know until his surgery how messed up that shoulder really was. Not one of the better trades by the Belichick/Pioli regime... I'm more concerned about STARTERS than depth right now. As long as the Bills can work something out with Clements (or he at least agrees to sign the franchise tender), we're OK at nickel even if Kevin Thomas never makes it back. JMO.
  16. OK, I gotta ask: the MASTERS ?!?!? I play some golf. And yeah, I normally watch the last round. But better than anything else on that list? Really? (Full disclosure: I voted for the Stanley Cup finals. Two years ago, I bought my big-screen TV so I could have it for the NHL playoffs...)
  17. First thing I'm going to do is give y'all a link to an article I just finished reading: Foreign Affairs magazine: Seeing Baghdad, Thinking Saigon The title's kind of weird, because the entire point of the article is that the situation in Iraq is anything but a replay of Vietnam. According to author Stephen Biddle, we're not EVER going to "win the hearts and minds" of the Sunni 'insurgents', and continuing to train and equip a mostly Shi'ite and Kurdish military/police force may actually be one of the worst things we could do. Read it and see what you think... Some Cliff Notes replies to your options (as my curfew is fast approaching): More tomorrow.
  18. Only if the Bills also hire a team psychiatrist. (Come to think of it, that wouldn't be a bad idea anyway...)
  19. How bad? Not that bad, that's for sure.
  20. Still nothing more than a rumor, but from KFFL: NCAA | V. Young scores low on Wonderlic test Sun, 26 Feb 2006 14:11:01 -0800 Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports there was word around the NFL Combine that Texas QB Vince Young scored a six on his Wonderlic test and scored another six on his second attempt at the test.
  21. Buckley's actually been fairly consistent on the topic: Hence the lack of surprise regarding his most recent comments.
  22. Ah yes, our Viking warrior. Been waiting for him to show up in either the Olympics or one of those Strongman competitions... but, alas, a football player he wasn't. Amazing what you can find on Google -- our boy Leif is a boxer now. And undefeated at that, if I'm reading that website correctly...
