  1. Trouble is, somebody relatively new to TSW doesn't *know* there have been 956 previous threads. (And not to pick solely on the newbies, some long-time regulars could learn to use the "search" function a little more often themselves.) I think we've been more proactive lately in merging threads, like the three different Sam-Adams-to-Cincy ones I jammed together last night. Still a work in progress, though... and one not helped by the kind of crap that inundated the board yesterday afternoon. But hey, glad everyone had fun.
  2. Denny's one of the good guys. Always a pleasure to deal with, and a major part of the Booster Club's continued success. I wish him well -- he deserves it. Now how do I apply for the Director of Archives job? I'd love to finally get my grubby little paws on some of those scrapbooks...
  3. I'll burn for it, I'm sure, but I can't resist dragging that one back out from time to time...
  4. Funny -- I always thought Adams was the gap-shooter and Siragusa the run-stuffer in that Baltimore lineup, and that the idea of playing "anchor" (so other guys could make the big plays) was his primary source of frustration with the Buffalo coaching staff. I wish him luck, of course... but I shudder at the thought of seeing his bulk shoehorned into one of those Halloween costumes the Bengals call "uniforms".
  5. After sorting through some of the drivel that's been spewed forth onto the Wall recently? My tolerance level is fairly high these days. Besides, I'm familiar with Wys' work. In one classic thread from the early days of Billszone, he decided to subtract Travis Henry's three longest runs from scrimmage during a particular game to prove Henry had a lousy yards-per-carry average and should be benched. (Note: if you read far enough, you'll discover that was the season Henry rushed for 1400+ yards and went to the Pro Bowl.)
  6. "Article"? Looks to me like another op-ed from the guy who used to post over on BZ. (FYI, he's a season-ticket holder, or at least used to be.) PTR is correct about one thing -- Wys may be entitled to his opinion, but it's no more valid than yours or mine.
  7. Without a couple more starting-quality o-linemen, that may just become necessary.
  8. Why, I oughtta... (Gotta admit, that WAS pretty good...)
  9. Voice of reason. Johnson's Drew Rosenhaus imitation needs some work. For reference: Chargers gave up a 3rd and 6th-round pick for Keenan McCardell. If one of the WR-poor teams gets desperate enough, I could see a #3 for Moulds.
  10. That photo is (bleep)ing priceless. And since I didn't pick Duke to go all the way (unlike most of the people I know), my bracket has new life....
  11. That would be cool... but I'm not sure Berchtold would suggest it. Unlike TD, he seemed very uncomfortable that evening, didn't he? At any rate, I'd advise doing any future meet-the-fans events before Happy Hour...
  12. According to his "personal advisor", that is. We'll see.
  13. NFL.com: Jeff Faine I liked Faine a LOT in the '03 draft (Browns took him #21 overall, two spots ahead of McGahee), but he hasn't made it through a season yet without a visit to I.R.
  14. Doubtful. Hang on a sec, though -- I'll find a list of the 'quality interior linemen' he drafted in the second and third rounds during his stay in Buffalo, then get back to you...
  15. Damn. They ARE running out of cap space, aren't they? Either that, or Pucillo has blackmail-worthy material of Greggg and Vinky...
  16. When Mom went to insure the truck we used to plow the driveway, our agent told her it had to have the same level of coverage as her main vehicle (i.e., one couldn't be full tort, the other limited tort). She went elsewhere instead, and didn't have a problem. Sounds like a rule set by the insurer, not anything required by the state...
  17. Check out some of the seller's other sh--... err, stuff. Stunning. I'm working on a piece about counterfeit jerseys right now. Thanks for the original link, Dave -- this guy just made my list. (Although since he's offshore and not advertising the jerseys as authentic, probably not a lot to be done.) P.S.: I've got Bill Simpson listed as wearing #45.
  18. Believe it or not, when meeting coaches/GMs in person (as opposed to typing rants about them from the safety of home), most fans actually DON'T behave like friggin' idiots. I was concerned about that at the meet-and-greet in San Antonio, considering Donahoe's Q-and-A session was after two hours of drink specials in the hotel bar. Shouldn't have worried -- the crowd was polite, and seemed happy to have a chance to ask legit questions, pose for pix with him, etc. (Some, of course, were 'happier' than others... **hic** )
  19. Couple of them went to the Pro Bowl -- coincidentally (or not), in a year Moulds made it as well -- so I'd have to answer that question "yes".
  20. Jordan Black? You guys watch the KC-Buffalo game last season?
  21. Chad Brown. Duane Starks. Monty Beisel. How did those signings -- all from last offseason -- work out? (Hint: I believe Beisel is the only one still with the team...)
  22. Hobert was brought in to compete for the starting job, but never actually started a regular-season game for the Bills. Todd Collins started the infamous "I didn't read my playbook" game vs. New England; Billy Joe Gunrack was forced into action when Collins was injured.
  23. I kind of agree with that, although I wasn't a huge Schopp fan even while he was on NSA. Either Schopp or Parker is somewhat tolerable by themselves (or with Brad filling in), but it seems like they bring out the worst in each other when they work together. JMO. As for pre/postgame: I listen to GR pregames when I drive up from home, mostly because I can pick them up sooner. Postgames? The 'official' (97Rock) postgame plays at Lot 1 Pole 5 so we can hear the pressers, but we're kinda busy grillin' and chillin' at that point. Most of the time, we're still there when Brinson is wrapping up the show... Finally got Sirius, though, so some of that may change this season.
  24. Hmmm. Must have lucked out this morning, because I've heard nothing but sportstalk in the last half-hour. Today's main topic: whether signing Craig Nall -- and telling him he's here to compete for the starting job -- foreshadows the possible departure of J.P. Losman, keeping Holcomb as the veteran 'insurance policy'. HS: "It's tough enough dividing up minicamp/training-camp reps for two potential starting QBs... how do you do it with three? It doesn't make sense."
