  1. Ah, but there's a loophole wide enough for Bennie Anderson to fit through. From the Atlanta Falcons official team website:
  2. I, too, am very curious to see which jersey Buffalo's first-round pick holds up for the photo-op...
  3. Nope. Those interlock thingies won't even allow the engine to be started. Hey, I'm all for keeping impaired drivers off the road -- few years back, a couple of friends died because they were unfortunate enough to share a stretch of road with a repeat offender. But to assume everyone's guilty until proven innocent? Not cool. On a somewhat related note: guy I know just got busted. Car turned off, keys in his pocket, 'resting his eyes' at a safe distance off the road. Cop initially stopped to see if he was OK, then decided he smelled ETOH. cop: "Guess you'll think twice about sleeping it off alongside the road next time." driver: "No, next time I'll just keep driving instead."
  4. And while there were mixed reactions to your opinion, I don't think I saw anyone call you an idiot. For the record: Stadium Wall - Terms of Service "Courtesy is contagious - Just become someone doesn't share your opinion - doesn't make them an idiot. It is ok to cheer for other players or to wear the jersey number of your choice. " Thank you, and have a nice day.
  5. You don't really want to go back to the days of "1a" and "1b", do you? Holcomb started the final game last season, so it makes sense he'd still be listed at the top of the depth chart. For now.
  6. Aha -- so THAT'S the excuse he's using for the Mike Williams pick: "Don't blame me, I was still in Pittsburgh. Yeah. That's the ticket..." That piece originally ran on Sunday morning's "Outside The Lines", dealing with college QBs changing positions to increase their chances of making it in the NFL. Can't believe they're still using it. Then again, this is ESPN we're talking about here...
  7. 2 and 7 both used the clip on their 11:00 newscasts, too.
  8. Ah, now that could get interesting. Probably won't get that far, since USC's a Big Football School... but wouldn't it be fun if it did?
  9. Wouldn't want to try. I'm still hoping to learn enough about fine cuisine from you to progress beyond the TV-dinner and frozen-pizza stage...
  10. As previously noted: he's already going pro. NCAA eligibility has no bearing on that. And as a junior (unlike Clarett and Williams, who ran afoul of the draft process when they tried to come out after their sophomore seasons), he'd have no reason to attempt to regain his college eligibility... Addendum: agree with y'all on Williams. He only declared because it was legal to do so at the time; not his fault the Clarett decision was overturned.
  11. If you're suggesting we've exceeded our smart-ass quota, I'd have to agree... and include myself in the count...
  12. For the record, then: Bledsoe's 4359 passing yards that season equaled the 21st-highest total since 1960. Of the 20 higher totals, only two of those QBs -- Trent Green (2004) and Lynn Dickey (1983) -- didn't end the season in the Pro Bowl. Here, you want a cheap laugh? Try this number: 2852. That was Buffalo's total passing yardage last season, a mere 1507 yards behind Bledsoe's 2002 season. I'm not about to wish Drewbie back in a Bills uniform, but that '02 Pro Bowl nod was no sympathy vote.
  13. You don't really want me to pull out the '03 media guide and list all the team passing records he broke that season, do you? In general, 4000-yard seasons normally do buy a ticket to Hawaii...
  14. Sympathy vote? Somehow I can't see either the players or writers giving anyone a "sympathy vote". Heck -- if anything, I'd say the average bitter hacksportswriter is a LOT more cynical than most of the folks here...
  15. Last I knew, LB relocated somewhere down South. Texas, maybe?
  16. Yes, he does. Can't begin to count the number of times I thought he was offsides, but when I'd rerun the tape he'd be legal by thismuch...
  17. ...but you're a better writer... Good stuff, Dozer. Thanks for sharing.
  18. That's IT, I'm never flying again. (Not so) seriously, there's some hysterical stuff there....
  19. While I agree that Ralph is a businessman first, many nonprofit organizations in WNY would beg to differ with the "not a philanthropist" part of that statement...
  20. My heart (if not my head) says Habs 5, Tropical Depressions 4. Oh, wait... you meant the Sabres... If Afinogenov hits top gear, there's no way the Flyers can keep up. With a little help from his friends (and those of you with tickets, rocking HSBCArena...) Swordsmen 4, Fillies 2 in Game 1; Sabres in 5.
  21. Re: building a Bills Hall of Fame at the stadium -- there are already some plans in the works, or at least there were under the previous administration. Various members of the front office spent quite a bit of time touring the new facilities at Lambeau Field when the Bills were out there for the scrimmage last August. Between the front-office turnover and Denny Lynch's retirement, though, I'm not sure where that project currently stands.
  22. What, you didn't enjoy the "meet our #1 pick" press conference with J.P.?
  23. ...and I can't tell you how thankful I am for that right about now.
