  1. "Special taste" ?!?!? I think I feel my dinner revisiting me.....
  2. Thanks. Back when Mark Z. still ran the Sabres board, it was suggested I move on. No trash-talking (unlike a certain Penguins fan I could mention), they just didn't like the idea of someone with the username "GoHabsGo" hangin' out there....
  3. Not in 2002 (when he only had 6 sacks), and not here. Aaron Schobel has had 8+ sacks in each of the last four seasons, has just as many double-digit-sack seasons, and has more total sacks (46.5) in a far shorter career than Wiley (44.0). Sorry, but I remain unimpressed by Wiley's career.
  4. Right. And if true, even in a best-case scenario, he wouldn't have been picked much higher in 2005 than he was this year. So he stayed in school, had a good time, played for another national championship instead of spending a season getting the snot beaten out of him behind San Fran's crappy line, learned how to dance, and didn't really cost himself that much money in the long run. Sounds like a win-win to me.
  5. (Mostly) just pickin', dellapelle. But 2000 was the only season Wiley started here, other than the occasional spot-start in case Bruuuce or Phil H. was injured.
  6. 683069[/snapback] Ummm... yeah. When exactly was that, anyway? I seem to have forgotten...
  7. 7-1? All even-strength goals except for Drury's shortie? HAD to be the refs.
  8. And I don't believe they did. I seem to recall reading Russert was disappointed by that. Overall, though, the outlook was positive after that meeting, mostly because of this: Based on what Jeff Littman said prior to the Schumer/Russert/Tagliabue meeting, those are significant changes from the original agreement. And remember, Littman -- who will be Wilson's representative on the revenue-sharing committee -- DID see the document. Props to Leo Roth; he seems to consistently have the best information on this subject.
  9. I didn't go. Guess we'll hafta wait on #89.
  10. Hali got the Lion's share of the publicity, of course, but Rice made a few big plays as well. And he's got a mean streak. From the Harrisburg Patriot-News: Here's some background on him -- mean streets of Baltimore, a mother who's battling both kidney failure and cancer. I'd be rooting for the kid - and his mom - even if he didn't wear Blue and White.
  11. This weekend? Haven't heard anything yet, so I doubt it. And I see Select-a-Seat Day is June 3rd this year, and the next minicamp isn't until the 12th-14th... so the odds aren't good then, either.
  12. Plus, wouldn't the accumulated hot air slow the evaporative cooling process?
  13. No martyrdom for you. May you have a long, miserable life in that cell, and die of old age.
  14. Remember where I live. My main radio choices are K94 (soft rock favorites), Cool100 ("High Energy Rockin' Oldies"), and the Big Pig ("Sizzlin' Country")... and the first two appear to be on a permanent eight-hour loop. So while I can crank up the computer (and my long list of ripped CDs) at home, in the car I'm either flippin' discs or futilely mashing the 'seek' button in the forlorn hope of finding something listenable for more than a ten-minute stretch. The Sirius setup has been more than worth the $$$, and I can't stand Howard Stern.
  15. Every time someone who hasn't had access to previous carcass-floggings comes along, or one of said floggers works up a new head of steam... (Not that I disagree with them. I'm still waiting -- and not quite as patiently as I used to -- for the next Will Wolford to show up at OneBillsDrive.)
  16. Regarding Bentley: you're aware that as soon as his hometown Cleveland Browns called he broke off all other negotiations, aren't you?
  17. Always have, whenever they're not playing against "my" team. Went to more than a few games at the Aud with my Dad, starting with the night Gretzky broke the single-season goal-scoring record in 1982 (and Gilbert, not wanting to be upstaged by the kid, countered with a hat trick of his own). Loved Pat LalalalaLaFontaine, like Briere and Drury almost as much. Plus, they're the 'hometown' team -- so the (dearly departed and sorely missed) Empire, and more recently MSGBuffalo, have provided the vast majority of my NHL access for the last ten years. Heck... considering the only time I get to see the Habs anymore is when they're playing either Buffalo or Pittsburgh, I know your team better than my own. In fact, I'm not sure I should admit this.. but talkin' hockey at work the other night, I said I'd have mixed emotions were the Sabres/Habs to meet up further down the road in the playoffs. (Guess that's not a problem now. ) I've had the chance to watch my team skate the Cup more than once, and it's absolutely mindblowing. Buffalo fans deserve that opportunity.
  18. Depends on how you define "unbelievable", I suppose...
  19. Smooth backpedal by Mort, but his "measurables" still stink. Second-day pick at best. You guys realize if you keep up the attack, he'll probably start ignoring any and all Bills-related questions? Then again, maybe that's not a BAD thing...
  20. <expletive deleted> Well, at least my team didn't play their elimination game like they had an early tee time tomorrow. Good luck against Ottawa. Addendum: I leave you with the gameday thread from flyersphans.com. Think they're about to set a record for consecutive posts using the F-bomb: Official Wagon GDT - Flyers vs Those DIVING MOTHER ****ERS 5/2/06
  21. Over on the MSGBuffalo feed, Razor and Robey were just giggling about Hitchcock's "we've got speed too" line from Sunday. Madcap, if Carolina advances, Buffalo will be the lowest remaining seed. That means they get Ottawa. OTOH, if my Habs manage to pull off a miracle, the Sabres would get New Jersey instead.
