  1. USA -- with Buffalo's Steve Mesler -- wins gold in 4-man bobsled. http://wintergames.ap.org/story.aspx?st=id...bcddbc072bcaa79
  2. [This is an automated response] As a courtesy to the other board members, please use more descriptive subject lines. The topic starter can edit the subject line to make it more appropriate. Thank you.
  3. Well, it easily could have been found in the previous "Jason Campbell Rumor" thread ...
  4. Not sure that's possible from the States unless you fake a Canadian IP address. I know it doesn't work on CBC. Funny thing is, though, MSNBC actually beat NBC in Buffalo Sunday night, and that doesn't count the people watching it on CFTO.
  5. Unfortunately, it's true -- in part because the game was buried on MSNBC instead of the main network. http://slapshot.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/02/...-s-canada-game/ Second-highest rated hockey game since 1980 ... with 8.22 million viewers, roughly one-third the audience ice dancing drew over on NBC. Pro Bowl drew a 7.9 rating, US-Canada 4.3.
  6. Heh. I'm almost convinced that the IOC would prefer to throw its little party without having to put up with any of those pesky athletes... And as a friend from Calgary reminded me after I broke out the "can't spell idiocy" line on Twitter, you also can't spell "celebrate" without B-E-E-R.
  7. I did. Forgot about it myself until it was almost over. I feel shame. Sully's on right now, FWIW: http://blogs.buffalonews.com/sully_on_spor...th-sully-1.html Tim's still scheduled at 3, which means he's going head-to-head with the US hockey game. I told him I expect some liveblogging.
  8. Women smoking! And drinking! Straight from the can/bottle! Scandalous! 'S funny, I never even considered that, but you may have a point. And KD, I am SO stealing the "can't spell idiocy without IOC" idea...
  9. This IS "their own league." And if rich American businessmen are willing to pay millions of dollars to own a franchise in it, all the better.
  10. And interestingly enough, someone else at that same interview came away with a different opinion of the session:
  11. True. She probably didn't even think about it -- the drinking age is 18 in Quebec, so she's "legal" at home -- but I suppose there could be a slap on the wrist for that.
  12. Repeating from the "Ask Tim Graham" thread: Source: Campbell-to-Bills rumor bogus
  13. Hahaha. True. I'd guess it was probably Greg Beacham, who's been writing most of the stories from that venue (although JW did cover a couple of games there). Would I have called the IOC for a comment? Hmm. Of course, the USOC et al. did already ship snowboarder Scotty Lago out of town, which set a precedent of sorts ... Much ado about nothing.
  14. According to Matt Mosley, Campbell isn't going anywhere ... except to Redskins training camp: http://espn.go.com/blog/nfceast/post/_/id/...-campbell-rumor

  16. Eh? USA-FIN is on NBC, not CNBC. http://www.nbcolympics.com/tv-listings/zon...ime=900/tv.html
  17. Probably this one. So what exactly do we have, other than some Soprano3695 wannabe calling a D.C. radio station with "inside information"?
  18. Favre-esque, eh? Or maybe Michael Jordan/Washington Wizards-esque.
  19. You do realize that the "National" in NHL doesn't mean the U.S., right?
  20. Slow times? Over 600 media credentials issued for the combine, league meetings and free agency after that, and then the run-up to the draft. Offseason? Maybe for the players ...
  21. Draft Trent Williams? So Russ and Co. can box another round with his agent, Eugene Parker? Interesting call.
  22. http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/...-bill-but-lynch
  23. Was scheduled at 10:30. First quote I've seen -- asked about Jerrah Jones admitting he'd made a mistake in firing him, Gailey said he wouldn't disagree.
