  1. Many did not. Talk to most sportswriters, and the only part of the Tiger story they care about is how soon he's coming back. National Enquirer, TMZ and the rest can have their own fun with the rest of it.

  3. That's your opinion, and you're entitled to it.
  4. I don't recall asking Tiger to apologize for anything. That little dog-and-pony show was his PR department's idea. And not a very good one, either: http://blogs.forbes.com/sportsmoney/2010/0...stumbles-again/
  5. FWIW, word out of Houston says he's signing here. Guess we'll see at noon.
  6. You lost me with your very first line. If journalism hasn't been profitable for 30 years, then why did Gannett, McClatchy, CNHI and the rest spend most of that period buying newspapers?
  7. Nope. When the hard drive fried and we lost the entire 2007 season.
  8. Hahaha. It's been years since I've seen that site ... ... but wait. Does that make JW a spy?
  9. Staying overnight in WNY, though. We'll see if he makes his plane.
  10. I keep going back to BADOL's train of thought -- it's not so much the players the Bills have drafted, but the continuing roster churn. As you pointed out, Pat Williams' departure left a gaping hole on the DL. If they'd kept him, they wouldn't have had to reach for McCargo. Ditto for the revolving door at CB, which traces all the way back to the Super Bowl era: Derrick Burroughs (career-ending injury), Nate Odomes (FA-Seattle), and JD Williams (bust) begat Jeff Burris (FA-Indy) and Thomas Smith (FA-Chicago), who were replaced by Antoine Winfield (FA-Minnesota) and Nate Clements (FA-SF), with Leodis McKelvin (??) the latest rental. And except for Odomes (#2-1987), every single one of those players was a first-round pick. Same at RB; since 1997, Antowain Smith, Travis Henry, Willis McGahee, and Marshawn Lynch (three first-rounders and a second) have all tried to fill Thurman's shoes. None of the first three lasted more than four seasons here; we'll see about Lynch. And who was the starter at the end of last season? A Division III undrafted free agent. Meanwhile, between 1995 (Ruben Brown) and 2009 (Eric Wood), they used exactly ONE first-round pick on the OL, and missed on that one. Good grief -- no wonder we haven't seen a playoff game here since it was still called Rich Stadium.
  11. FWIW, Smith is scheduled to visit Houston tomorrow: http://www.houstontexans.com/news/Story.asp?STORY_ID=6080
  12. Agreed. I'll follow by reminding everybody of something Tim said when we first started the pinned thread, because it applies equally to John: In short, "fun with quotes" posts = not cool.
  13. Judge for yourself: Bills sign free-agent OL Hangartner
  14. Continuing the theme, bizarre headline on that NYPost wire story, since the copy didn't say anything about a ruling. Then again, it's the Post. Their "Headless Body in Topless Bar" may be one of my favorite heds of all time...
  15. Mmmm. As a child of the late '70s, the first two of those are right in my wheelhouse. I do wish LiddyBuck hadn't started doing the random string-shredding thing at the end of multiple songs on the Say You Will tour, though. I could live with it on "I'm So Afraid," but I liked the ending of GYOW just the way it was.
  16. My bad -- I was sitting in the doctor's office when you posted. (Swear this knee is never going to be right. Grrr. But I digress ...) Mark's just-completed chat: http://blogs.buffalonews.com/billboard/201...-live-chat.html An interesting note from that: he thinks Stroud and Spencer Johnson are their DEs, and likes the idea of signing Kemoeatu to rotate with KWilliams at the nose. Don't see anything on a Sully chat. Trying to remember -- did he say he wasn't doing one this week? I'll check. Edit: this is from the last one he did, on Feb. 26 -- "Talk to you next week. I'm heading to Albany for the MAAC Tournament next Friday, so I don't know when I'll be chatting. I'll let you know." And yes, Tim's on the ESPN schedule for the same Bat-time, same Bat-channel: http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/chat/_/id/...gger-tim-graham
  17. Lucas came close -- and yeah, that game was a lot of fun to watch -- but I think John Beck actually accomplished that rare feat during the 1-15 season.
  18. Or tried, anyway. Isn't that why the British burned Buffalo to the ground in 1813?
  19. Mark Gaughan's take on Delhomme from this morning's chat: "Jairus Byrd should have sent him a souvenir from the Pro Bowl."
  20. Without Delhomme, the Bills don't win that Panthers game last season. Absolutely TERRIBLE performance. Just sayin'.
  21. How about Randle El instead? Shanny's cleaning house at Redskins Park.
  22. Not sold on them, but also not sure Coles is the answer, especially if he still expects a big payday.
  23. Sure about that? I thought his signing bonus/'09 salary was actually higher than 81's, but I could be wrong ...
  24. Anyone still want him?
