  1. Apparently not any more. Ken's friend Scott said something about being told it could be used as a weapon, or possibly trying to break out a window while in flight...
  2. Rick Gosselin, in the Dallas Morning News. His rankings won't be out until the week after the Super Bowl, though. Good move by Jauron, making April the assistant HC. (Of course, Mularkey had already planned on doing that.) That should stop all but the most serious inquiries... but honestly, it wouldn't shock me to see that happen in the next couple of years, either.
  3. Hafta remember how much black-and-gold there is 'round here, especially when they're doing well. Got a few of 'em going with some the-Seahawks-were-hosed action last Februaury, if only to forestall all that "One For The Thumb" crap. Lori the ****-stirrer? Abso-freakin'-lutely. Sounds like a plan. Roxy's and the Bowlean may be memories from a fading past, but the Beef'n'Barrel is going strong as ever...
  4. Sounds like a trick question. Earliest player drafted who actually played for the Bills would be Shaw, in 1961... but that's not what you asked, is it? You're thinking of either Simpson (who made it into the Hall 14 years before Billy) or an early-60s pick who played for someone else. And if it's the latter, I'm not going to get it without a trip to the media guide. (Just so happens I'm doing some work out of the HoF guide right now, so I'll leave the floor open. Damn. That WAS nasty.) For that matter, nobody's answered your FIRST question, either... ADD: I'll up the ante on this one. Anyone gets the right answer to Kelly's draft question, I'll buy 'em a round at next season's home opener. They'll deserve it. 2nd ADD: Even nastier than I originally thought. You da man.... err, Dog, Kelly...
  5. Having a hard time equating a hot-read on a blitz to a swing-pass to the RB. Again, maybe that's just me. I will give Chadly credit for this, though: on a windy, rainy, mostly crappy day at the Ralph, he looked better than quite a few other QBs who have tried to deal with those conditions. Still wouldn't want him here as the starter because of his (lack of) arm strength, but few are more accurate at the dink-and-dunk game. That didn't stop me from turning to SDS at halftime and saying "How the (bleep) are we losing this game?!?!", though...
  6. Oh, I disqualified myself right from the start. Available for fact-checking, but don't worry, I won't shout out the answers before anyone else has a chance...
  7. heehehee. Good one. I like the questions that don't come straight out of a media guide, and this thread has been pretty good about that so far...
  8. Okoye's is an amazing story: All-State at 14. Starting for a D-1 team at 17. Unanimous first-team All-Big East selection at 19. Yeah, okay, maybe a few other kids have done that. But after moving to the States at 12, and learning about this sport called football from Playstation? Check out a few of these links, and I think you'll have your answer about 'character', as well. Defensive co-captain; originally a biology major with ideas of going pre-med, ended up graduating in 3 1/2 years with a degree in psych... Lexington Herald-Leader: 19-year-old senior always a quick study Football friendship is strong medicine Louisville Courier-Journal: The Cards' chapter of Okoye's story ends Palm Beach Post: Louisville early bird graduates at just 19 Miami Herald: Quick study lineman is on a fast track Winston-Salem Journal:Okoye will try to stare down Deacs in Orange Bowl Orange Bowl player profile NFLDraftCountdown.com scouting report FootballsFuture.com profile He'll be playing in the Senior Bowl, so we can get a better on-field read then. For now? I'm trying not to fall for this kid, but I don't think it's working...
  9. Put up your list as a reply, and we'll see what we can do... (Even though I'm really, REALLY annoyed that you sent Poz to Miami. How could you? )
  10. Think KFFL should have qualified that first bit with "at this time". Here's the relevant quote from the original article: Could mean Sherman is out of the running... OR that they want to talk to a few of the other guys again before making a decision. By wording their hed the way they did, KFFL didn't do Urban any favors.
  11. 47 of those yards came on a 3rd-and-4 dump-off to Leon Washington at midfield, courtesy of some badly-missed tackles by Bills DBs. The TD was a one-yarder to an uncovered TE. Despite what the numbers might (or might not) say, I remain unimpressed by Mr. Comeback-Player-of-the-Year. But maybe that's just me...
  12. Think you're pretty safe guessing they got shut out.
  13. Umm, yeah. I might amend that to "next to nothing", but that's kind of how I remember that game, too... those fumbles cost us at least ten points in an eight-point loss.
  14. Nasty question, Hopper. Three for three, Randy. Off the top of your head? Impressive... (Kelly did, in 1990. OJ didn't.) Looks like you're up.
  15. Spelled Cousineau, and yes, that pick was part of the OJ trade. The TE was Tony Hunter, from Notre Dame. Ended up trading him to the scRams for Vinny Ferragamo. (Yeah, THAT was a real win-win deal, no?)
  16. As long as it's classified as an away game he wouldn't have to worry about the Pinto, just getting the bowling ball and that evil cough-syrup-smelling stuff there in one piece. No ketchup at most away games, either. But if it's officially designated a home game? That could be tough.
  17. Well played. And welcome aboard... BTW, MBD, I've tweaked Stillerfans with the he-trapped-it argument for years. Fun times.
  18. Ooh, would that ever put a crimp in Pinto Ken's travel schedule. On second thought, no, it probably wouldn't...
  19. Maybe because they were looking for a "moment"? One play? "The Catch" and the "Immaculate Reception" are frozen in time forever. "Wide Right" (painfully) qualifies. Homejob doesn't, since it was illegal to begin with -- besides, my memory of that play isn't of Wycheck's throw or Dyson's catch, it's of the ref under the hood of the replay booth. And I get the idea "The Drive" is just in there as filler... Not sure which play you'd pick from the Houston game. By the time Christie lined up for the FG in OT, we just KNEW it was going to be good... BTW: after 37k votes, Franco leads Dwight Clark. Homejob is third, thanks to the fine folks in a single state. (#&^! you, Tennessee.)
  20. Listened to part of it on the way home from another Bonnies loss, before catching the end on MSG. You sure that wasn't a home game? Certainly sounded like it when Buffalo scored their second goal...
  21. Yup. Moving the Miami game to 4pm would've cost me an extra day's vacation... and good luck getting that night off less than two weeks before the game...
  22. I completely forgot about that. Hey everyone, we're moving the Miami game to 4:00... uh, no, just kidding, we're leaving it at 1:00 after all... sorry for the inconvenience (not really). Still no reason for a freakin' MIAMI game to not sell out the day single-game tix go on sale, but I can understand the other three...
  23. The best Jumbotron moment. The big board wasn't installed until 1994. (Although the Snow Bowl is one of my personal faves as well...)
  24. That cites our old friends at PFT.com as a primary source. Careful with that...
