  1. Then why wouldn't they have canned Smith instead of Shotty in the first friggin' place? And if the plan is to get rid of Smith in the very near future, then why let him a ) interview the HC candidates and b ) run the draft? Then again, this would be asking one of the Spanoses to make a coherent decision. That in itself is pretty far-fetched...
  2. Stabler, yes. Plunkett was actually out of football for a year before signing with Oakland in '79, the Snake's last season there...
  3. Right on. We don't know if Carr will ever be a good QB, because we haven't seen him play in front of an actual NFL-quality line yet. Some good stuff from the crew at HoustonProFootball.com, who have seen far more of Carr than any of us have...
  4. How about a copy of SDS's next bandwidth-usage bill?
  5. ...and stop wishing he was still here, and try not to be insanely jealous of the championship team he built out in Hoosierland. How come we always draw the short straw?
  6. I take it you won't be in attendance when his name is added to the RWS Wall of Fame, then, most likely within the next five years or so?
  7. Dead solid perfect on Fredo Carroll, ganesh. And I'm not so sure you're wrong about the Norv/Cottrell tandem, either. Turner probably wouldn't be my first choice, but Smith did get a chance to see him in action during the 2001 season...
  8. That's just wrong, on so many levels...
  9. Well now, that actually IS a good question...
  10. Read that last graf closely. When he decided to move ahead with Schotty, he expected the core of the coaching staff to remain intact... even though Marty was going to be a lame-duck HC going into next season?!?!?
  11. Yes, the News&Observer columnist who gave you this gem: ...is moving from sports commentary to the news-side: Since Barnett's columns were such a hot topic here last May, I'm sure many of you will be sorely disappointed by his absence from the upcoming postseason....
  12. That's what I'm guessing. Odd, though -- that doesn't show up anywhere in the official transactions on bb.com.
  13. Arrington has always been an OUTSIDE 'backer. Sam in college, both sides in Washington, SLB for the Giants until he was injured.
  14. A question many have asked, but few can answer... HBD, good Sir Dean!
  15. Tater, you inspired my dinner menu. Chiavetta's + leftover center-cut pork chops = some kick-a$$ BBQ. Salt taters on the side, enough veggies to at least give the appearance of healthful eating, and I don't think I'll need another meal before Thursday...
  16. Okoye's talent intrigues me, but if he's not at the top of Buffalo's list, I'd sooner see someone built along the lines of Jacksonville's tackles, Henderson (6-7, 328) and Stroud (6-6, 312). (Of course, so would approximately 31 other teams in the league. Those guys were both high first-round picks for a reason.) Sands is a possibility, but the Raiduhs would be incredibly stupid to let him walk. Waitaminute... in that case, there IS hope...
  17. Arrington: ruptured Achilles tendon, surgery last October. That's later in the season than Spikes blew his out the year before. Can't see him being anywhere near ready for the start of next season...
  18. Yes. The middle four sections of the upper deck and middle six sections of the lower bowl are the ones that really saw the pricing spike. The press release included the percentages... my original thread on the announcement
  19. Sandy Eggo's the same way; all three of their starting linemen weigh in over the 300lb mark...
  20. Other than the fact that we have exactly zero defensive linemen suitable to play a traditional 3-4, I think it's a great idea...
  21. Probably... but if it is, there'll be a whole bunch of us on our way to Hades...
  22. Just got mine a couple of days ago (invoice dated February 1), so yours might still be in transit? IIRC, the first deposit 'deadline' isn't until March 1. FYI: You can access your account online from http://www.buffalobills.com; mouse over 'Tickets' on the main page, and 'Account Manager' will be the top item in the drop-down menu. If you haven't already created a profile, you'll need your account ID number. (If you don't have the paperwork handy, the number is printed on your tickets...)
  23. Only until the next time Mikey Irvin shows up onscreen. Or Stewy Scott. Or Dick Vitale, or....
