  1. Of course, you all realize that the one home preseason game will be Kids' Day, and it will be a sellout no matter who the opponent is...
  2. One of the greatest inventions since sliced bread, the SI Vault. EVERY issue of Sports Illustrated, online, searchable, and FREE. On second thought, better than bread-slicers. You may not see me again for weeks...
  3. By the by, here's the link: http://www.ciweb.org/week1.html And one of the discussion topics sounds made-to-order: As of right now, I'm definitely planning on being there.
  4. Funny, that's not what his media guide bio says: 1986: Signed with the Bills in the middle of training camp after being pursued as a FA by 9 clubs...
  5. For the record, the second strike for steroids is eight games, not a full year. Let's hope Stroud doesn't give us any reason to remember that.
  6. His was the only serious reply on this thread. Don't expect them until two-three weeks before the first home preseason game. Heck, they haven't even started doing the seat relocations yet...
  7. Should have read a little deeper into that obit, maybe. Clarke did his own math. But thanks for the RIP, anyway. I guess.
  8. Budget cuts lead to loss of jobs That would be the equivalent of Ralph firing Chris Jenkins (Scott Berchtold's second-in-command, who holds the same title here) and Chris Brown. From what I saw, Mason did a great job with their website. When most other teams are ADDING in-house content, this move strikes me as very peculiar. They're claiming financial problems as the cause. We'll see. Was someone perhaps not fully onboard with some of the moves Mike Shanahan has made lately?
  9. His agent confirmed the deal, which is why it appeared in the newspaper. The Bills have yet to do so, and Chris Brown won't put any signing on the team website until it's officially announced.
  10. Nope. Second. Pats haven't taken a first-round WR since Terry Glenn.
  11. ALS. Hmmm. Several NFL alumni have succumbed to, or are fighting, the same disease. Steve Smith, former Penn State/Oakland Raiders FB, is one. And again, I wonder what their rate of occurrence is compared to the general public's, and whether playing professional football could have been a causative factor. R.I.P., Wayne.
  12. One last reminder... March Madness On Demand
  13. Not all of us desire a tilt at that windmill, Don RÛßeÒ de Quixote...
  14. It hasn't even been three months since the end of the season. That minor detail aside, please continue...
  15. IIRC, Edwards was drafted to be the Lions' designated pass-rusher. I think Marv saw Kelsay as the next Phil Hansen, doing the dirty work so the right end could disrupt the offense. That's a pretty big difference. Oh, and one more reason why you might not want to use Wikipedia as a source for your next college paper: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalimba_Edwards You stay classy, Titans fan.
  16. Nov. 7, 2009: Ohio State at Penn State. Get your tickets now...
  17. Nope, just thought the later post I quoted was amusing, since the initial post of his that you attacked didn't seem particularly witty. Pretty innocuous, in fact. I'm cool with your clarification. Carry on...
  18. Ohio State. Anyone surprised? Me neither.
  19. Not as much support for McKenzie as you might think. Reggie got the publicity, but Joe D. was the one making all the Pro Bowls from that line.
  20. The Bills have put two names on the Wall twice, in 2000 (Saimes/Kalsu) and 2001 (Smerlas/Kelly). The way I heard it, Smerlas was the original selection in 2001 -- they wanted to get the pre-Super Bowl players taken care of before entering that era -- but decided they couldn't wait to put Kelly's name up. As you noted, KRC, all previous Bills Hall of Famers were on the Wall well before they made it to Canton. Tighter window with the potential first-ballot guys, which is why I was a little surprised to see Steve make it ahead of Bruce last year.
  21. Wrong again Simon. I always knew you didnt know what you are talking about in football but I guess you could add college basketball to the list of topics you like to talk out of your ass about. Pretty obvious to see who decided to start this pissing match. And for the record, I don't have a dog in this fight.
  22. Maybe so. Guess I'm just used to watching the Bonnies' big men fumble easy passes...
  23. You're right, of course -- it's hard to imagine a scenario that doesn't include Bruce as a first-ballot Hall of Famer. But they set the precedent with Jim and continued it with Thurman, so I don't expect it to change this time around.
