  1. Did you tell him you'll pay to add "18-1" to the Pats* tat? Of course, for me the answer is zero. Can't donate blood for twelve months after getting one; thinking about the reason for that rule is enough to dissuade me.
  2. http://www.esquire.com/features/things-that-carried-him Four thousand American soldiers have died in Iraq. This is the true story of how one of them came home. It's a long hike -- 17,000 words after the final edit -- but it's worth every second you spend reading it, either online or starting on page 102 in the May issue of Esquire. And whether you support or oppose the current administration and the war in Iraq, I think we can all agree with the chaplain at Dover AFB: "Now, as always, we pray for a time when we are not cursed by terrorism and when young men and women do not die in war."
  3. Nice. And for the record... let's NOT sign chris henry.
  4. I said nothing of the sort. That would've been PFT, and I've spent the last week mocking them (even more than usual) because of it. You already knew that, of course, so this is for you:
  5. As I previously noted, there is a live episode of Total Access scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Thursday the 17th, the only early show that week. Hmmm....
  6. He's wrong about the Indy game, at least in this particular post. (He's got it right further down the page.) From NFL.com: "Buffalo helps Indianapolis open its new 63,000-seat Lucas Oil Stadium (Sunday, Aug. 24, NFL Network, 8 p.m. ET)."
  7. No. San Fran is the only U.S. site. And if I were on that side of the country... well, the picture on the front of the Reporters Sans Frontières website sums up my feelings on the subject.

  9. Let me repeat: I got an e-mail because I put in a request. If you don't tell them you're interested in relocating, they may well assume you're fine where you're at. BUF-TICKETS (at) bills.nfl.net
  10. During the season. And I plan on having a ton of fun at that week's game, whether it's home or away.
  11. Because the seats he bought were listed as available in their database? 314 isn't exactly on the 50, so I'm guessing those weren't held for upgrades. I got an e-mail because I put in a request. Have you done that yet?
  12. This was the e-mail I received on March 26: I have ten years of seniority, so adjust accordingly.
  13. I'm glad somebody finally got the quote...
  14. I was just following Steely's lead. Sorry to harsh your buzz, man...
  15. Nah, you need the original . We were showing this at SF cons 20 years ago...
  16. Wait. You're six months younger than I am ?!?!? Okay, now I'm depressed. Happy Birthday, Ken!
  17. If we started moderating for intelligence (or lack thereof), this place would empty out in a hurry...
  18. If I had to guess, I'd say they've got something up their sleeve for April 17th, the only date in the next two weeks that shows a 4:30 p.m. live episode of Total Access. But then, that was allegedly the same logic PFT used to come up with the April 3 date, so don't set your clock just yet...
  19. Outstanding, Ken, and well worth the shameless plug. One minor fact-check, though. Here's the D&C feature: Here's what Duncan Brantley, who came up with the idea and co-wrote the script with Rick Reilly, said in this week's SI:
  20. Canoe. Still, a valid point. Like I said, a two-hour drive. Did she know it was in Pennsylvania this time?
  21. WKBW owns the local rights to all the preseason games, but as of right now, the schedule I'm looking at does NOT list it as a national game:
  22. Only need tickets for the night practices. They're free, but you have to get them in advance. That information, as with the yearly shuttle-parking changes, probably won't be available for at least another couple of months. All morning and afternoon practices are free and open to the public, with the possible exception of a scheduled VIP day (normally on a Sunday), the walkthroughs before preseason games, or inclement weather. You'll still have to park offsite and catch a shuttle to St. John Fisher, though, unless you know someone who lives within walking distance of the campus. This team normally doesn't run many two-a-days, and virtually none after the first week of camp (which will be the last week of July), so the first couple of weeks will give you the most potential practice dates to choose from. Try to catch an evening session -- nice to see them on the turf field, under the lights.
  23. That's when the spring meetings end, although I'm not sure I've seen an actual date on the schedule release. The NFL Network listings don't give anything away, but they only go up to the 6th as of now. ADD: Ah, sourced from PFT. That explains why I didn't see it. Their information seems to be erroneous, because the current schedule for the 3rd lists the following at 4:30: Once again, believe PFT at your own peril.
