  1. I was thinking, "Listen to Bob Matthews," but that works too...
  2. What? What's wrong with "have a nice day"?
  3. About five years ago, some of my relatives changed theirs to the first Saturday in August. Not only the weekend of the Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement, but also the same day as the Big 30 Game (local high school all-stars, NY vs. Pennsy). Haven't seen anyone from that side of the family since then.
  4. The scouts know about it, but they have no say in whether or not it changes the player's draft "grade." As both Haering and Heinlein said, those decisions are left up to the medical staff.
  5. ...as opposed to fans of a team that hasn't made a title game in 39 years. You're wrong about the record -- Giants have lost an even dozen championship games, Cleveland is in second with seven, and the league didn't start in 1966. As for the rest? GFY, and have a nice day.
  6. Its as if LSI has a long lost jets fan brother. Yeah. Marino who?
  7. The KC game brings up an interesting, if obscure, stat: Losman is now 2-0 in games where he replaced an injured starter. Bills were losing 3-0 to the Chiefs when Holcomb was (literally) knocked out (14-3 final), and tied 3-3 with the Jets when Edwards hurt his wrist (13-3 final).
  8. Or, they actually believe what they're writing. I know this to be true in at least one case. He's not exactly jumping for joy at the prospect of the team moving, either. But thanks for the stereotypes anyway.
  9. Looking for a spark with a QB change? That was Mularkey's M.O., not Jauron's. J.P. took every snap in 2006, and once they decided Edwards was "the guy," they stuck with him through some shaky games at the end of last season. Don't see DJ changing that mindset this year unless Edwards absolutely flops. JMO, as always.
  10. [This is an automated response] As a courtesy to the other board members, please use more descriptive subject lines. The topic starter can edit the subject line to make it more appropriate. Thank you.
  11. I was hoping someone was going to get around to mentioning that...
  12. No more plaques, either, not after they redesigned the Enshrinees' Gallery. All that stuff is on touchscreen consoles now...
  13. We'll see. With last year's roster full of bantamweight WRs and small-but-quick DTs? I agree. Small-but-quick didn't work worth a damn once the field turned to crud, did it? Size at WR/TE. Can we please get a receiver bigger than Brian Moorman? (More) size in the front seven (Stroud and Mitchell should help). Then, we'll see.
  14. Radiofrequency catheter ablation to treat Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. Should be fine -- actually, no longer having to worry about sudden attacks of tachycardia should be a weight off his mind. (No, I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I have more than a passing familiarity with this diagnosis...)
  15. Imagine Chad in this locker room, with no other vocal leaders on the offense to rein him in. I shudder at the thought.
  16. ADD: http://web.archive.org/web/20010815024955/...sonalities.html (Just so y'all don't think I'm making this up...)
  17. No... but now that you mention it, Schwabl's would be a natural marketing tie-in, wouldn't they? Hey, Brad, good to see you. Better watch it, though -- tater's after your job. And to think we knew him before he was famous... (BTW, tater: for that.)

  20. Limp those 40 feet in my stepdad's shoes -- two artificial knees and one hip replacement -- then get back to me.
