  1. Okay, you're right about that. I was looking for something different, and the separate media section seems to have completely disappeared. To get to the pages I think you're talking about, try this: Member Services › Search Tools › Active Player list
  2. They're still on there, but you have to work harder to find them. And it doesn't include the contract status, which does us no good. The redesign is eyecatching, but otherwise ...
  3. And then beat the crap out of him again when KC returned here during the '94 season. Well, that was a benching, not a TKO, but we all knew Joe Cool was done well before Schottenheimer made the switch to Steve Bono. "Before the game I stood up in the locker room and told the guys, 'This movie is rated R -- adult language and a lot of violence.'" -Bruce Smith, as quoted in Relentless II
  4. Tarkus, head over to the Tailgate Board, then click on the thread with directions to Hammer's Lot. Right on Abbott Road, just south of the stadium, easy walking distance to the gates. Parking is definitely available; Hammer will post about that later in the summer. Ditto for the t-shirts -- once she gets everything set up, #89 will let us know the details. Hope to see you there!
  5. Felt like kicking this to the top, because on this Memorial Day, our small town will remember the recent loss of one of our own. Thank you to Sgt. Montgomery, Lt. Col. Richard Berrettini, and all who have made the supreme sacrifice in service to our country.
  6. The famous quote on the 1985 blizzard: "Stay home, enjoy your family, watch Channel 7, and get a six-pack." At least that's the version WKBW showed last night. Something I didn't know: he was an Army Ranger during the Korean War. I raise a pint of Guinness in your honor, Your Honor. Rest well.
  7. You've probably already read it, BeerSphere -- it's the Bruce Smith Wall of Fame feature from a couple of weekends ago. Cleaned up a little (corrected to AP style, plus a couple other small changes Chuck suggested in his edit), but 99.9% the same piece. Thanks for all the kind words, folks. I really mean that. KRC, I'll be in touch regarding your vote.
  8. "Everyone"? Easy there. That said, I caught a little bit of Howard's show last week ... and when they didn't have enough calls to fill out a "Whiner Line" segment, I couldn't help thinking to myself, "That's because they're all here instead."
  9. Easy fix: if you don't like the thread, you don't need to participate in it. Have a nice weekend, everyone.
  10. So am I, Ken, and thank you for making it happen. I'll let you know how many extra copies I need.
  11. Speculation, of course, although I like Terry Pluto's work. He could be right this time, too -- I don't see Youboty making the team, and a trade would be an improvement over releasing him outright.
  12. Jesus F. Christ, dev. I just ate dinner ...
  13. I started my next e-mail to him, "Now, about Carwell ..." but I was laughing too hard to finish the sentence. Truth is, I don't know. Think he was living in Baltimore at one point. Larsen was easy -- this was the third link from the top of a Google search: http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human...0&cat=boxer Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like they'll be hiring for sports in the near future. One more thing, regarding the title of his column: I have asked, and learned, FAR more from Mr. Pollock than vice-versa. Would that every aspiring writer could find such a mentor ... and friend.
  14. I take it your answer would be "both," then. That's the way I'm leaning.
  15. Olean Times Herald: You ask ... and you shall learn So. Something to be proud of, proof that I need to get a life, or both? Hmm. Maybe I should start a poll ...
  16. Howard apparently doesn't feel the need to be confrontational, so that makes him "boring" to some people. As for me, I'm all in favor of the approach, and I'm glad he's still in the Buffalo market.
  17. How did I miss this the first time through? That's friggin' brilliant.
  18. Thanks for stopping by, Mike. I'd still rather listen to Simon, and haven't heard more than a ten-minute stretch of afternoon drive without changing the station since the end of football season. But, everybody's entitled to their own opinion.
  19. Yup, he had a passion for foreign cultures. Didn't he play for Miami for a while after he left here?
  20. No doubt. Memo to WGR: no more pictures of ex-Bills, unless they're players we still like. We'll be sure to let you know.
  21. More proof that this site is being read: http://wgr550.com/Bills-Surpass-50-000-Sea...Holders/2236315 But c'mon, seriously. Now we're bitching about a picture?
