  1. In the title of the thread that was merged into this one.
  2. Entering the country. Members of Inadmissible Classes include those who have been convicted of MINOR OFFENCES (including shoplifting, theft, assault, dangerous driving, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of illegal substances, etc.), or of INDICTABLE CRIMINAL OFFENCES (including assault with a deadly weapon, manslaughter, etc.). As well, those who have been convicted of DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED (DWI) are considered Members of an Inadmissible Class. Driving while under the influence of alcohol is regarded as an extremely serious offence in Canada. Those who have been convicted of an offence OUTSIDE CANADA, and have had 5 years elapse since the termination of the custodial portion (if any) of the sentence imposed (not the sentence served), may apply for a Minister's APPROVAL OF REHABILITATION. The Minister's Approval will permanently remove the inadmissibility caused by conviction.
  3. Looks all right to me ... http://www.buffalonews.com/111/index.html
  4. For those of you who might actually care, this has been corrected: Thanks, Aron.
  5. No. If they're announcing a sellout, the ONLY way you'll get tickets for that game directly from the Bills (except for the few seats that might open up after the Detroit game) is by buying seasons. You currently have two choices: either buy tickets for San Fran or New England from the Bills, or find seats for other games on eBay, StubHub, TicketExchange, etc. 57,132 in 1992. Yes, I realize that's different than the story in today's BuffNews. Hopefully they correct their error soon.
  6. And that's a hell of a gamble, since the first true home game (Detroit) is so close to the opener.
  7. Depends on what's making him lose his lunch. If it's the thought of signing Benson, I'm not feeling so well myself ...
  8. Oh, I indeed think it's odd and believe you have a point here...I just wonder how many Toronto tickets are left, especially since the Rogers Centre only holds about 55K. I think price is the big factor, and as you said, I hope Ralph got paid up-front. Agreed. Especially with the global economy the way it is, I think there's some definite sticker shock. Then again, I never bought into the 180,000-request number, either. I think they added all the RWS season-ticket holders whether they signed up or not. This is the Jolly Rogers we're talking about ...
  9. Yup, pretty much, EZC. To save (some small amount of) face, I should probably add that I've got a blank 90's-style jersey which will eventually have Conlan's name/number, whenever I get back to Buffalo to drop it off. I'll probably switch to that one when I get it back.
  10. Jay Glazer seems to think so ... Coming off Super Bowl win, Strahan to retire
  11. Neither, although the number was chosen to honor both of them. When the Bills first came out with the throwbacks, Nick Bakay wore a gorgeous #34 authentic on some of his NFL Network fantasy-league appearances. Never showed the back, though, so I asked him whether it said Gilchrist or Thomas. He said he couldn't play favorites between those two and Bubby Braxton, so he put his own name on the back instead. (Also something about shameless self-promotion in there, as I recall.) Made sense at the time, although I didn't have any excuse for the self-promotion bit. So I'm one of "those people," arrogant enough to wear a jersey with my name on it.
  12. As it was, he did get jostled around quite a bit before he managed to get outside. Some people were wondering if he did get kicked ... I'm no expert, though, so I'm glad guys like DD and LLR are weighing in.
  13. Don't look at me -- I have nothing to do with that. (Obviously, or my stuff would be on there.) You make a good point, though. When Scott's done with the redesign, should it have a place for the 'semi-pro' sites? For example, I wouldn't be opposed to putting up a link to the free stories on Tyler Dunne's Scout.com page, since I'm familiar with his (and staffer J.P Butler's) work in the OTH. But where's the cutoff point?
  14. My custom #58 -- the shirt I'll be wearing to most games this year -- is a replica, and it may be the last jersey I buy for a long time. Not interested in paying TWICE what my last Kelly authentic cost for one of the current models, and most of the knockoffs I've seen are junk.
  15. Replicas are screened instead of sewn, and the sleeves aren't cuffed. That's obvious from 50 feet. Yeah, I can nail most knockoffs ... but remember, I've done some research on this.
  16. Stories. We need stories. Preferably ones with blackmail potential ...
  17. The source, obviously. He wasn't willing to believe us, despite your training and my EMS experience, because we're not cops. Eh, whatever ...
  18. Yes. Pretty easily, in fact, if you know what to look for. The polyester mesh most of them use is heavier than the replicas, but nowhere near the nylon mesh in the real ones. But hey, as long as you know what you're buying, it's your money.
  19. Start here: http://rotoworld.com/pages/feedback.aspx?sport=NFL
  20. The bolded part is Rotoworld's take, not in the original BN story. Feel free to let them know they screwed up.
  21. Did you read the link? “The suspect shocked both officers at different times during the fight,” said Phoenix police spokeswoman Stacie Derge.
  22. Hand-to-hand combat is precisely what we're talking about. Middle of the night, don't know if the guy's got a gun stuck in his waistband, don't know if he's on something. Do know that he's not complying with commands, a taser didn't put him down, and he apparently grabbed -- and used -- another officer's Taser during the brawl. Time for the cops to worry about their OWN safety first. Don't know how else to explain it to you.
  23. Absolutely jumping to conclusions here, but I'm guessing the guy's tox screen comes back positive. A few years back, the local stoners hooked up with some grass laced with PCP. They ended up in the ER, where one 150-pound guy took a cop through a plate-glass window, and it took two state troopers and a D-cell Maglite applied to the throat to subdue another one. 3 a.m.? This guy is actively engaged with the first two cops after ignoring a Taser shot? If I'm the third man in (the shooter), there's no way in hell I'm going to try to get close enough to spray him -- which would also affect the policemen, remember. (Disclaimer: I am not in law enforcement. This merely seems like common sense.) The family can sue if they want, but this sounds like it was done by the book.
  24. A custom "authentic" jersey sells for $270 in the stadium store. (Strangely, neither bb.com nor NFLShop has any current players' authentics for sale.) If it's team-issued and signed, I'd probably add another $80-100.
