  1. That's why Willie Roaf ended up in Kansas City.
  2. He did get some bad info from the Bills regarding the season-ticket count, but that wasn't Tim's fault. And yeah, I laughed at the guy telling him he didn't know anything about Buffalo. Open mouth, insert foot keyboard.
  3. Welcome aboard, Tim -- and all kidding aside, we're glad to have you here.
  4. Somebody got nailed on a drug test for what they claimed was Propecia use. One of the Canadiens' goalies, I think? (Checking.) Yup, Jose Theodore, before the 2006 Olympics. It was already banned by the IOC, but only as a masking agent.
  5. Sully's been following him: West Side Rowing Club's Coppola, U.S. men's eight take bronze medal
  6. FWIW, Freeney's still on the PUP list following Lisfranc surgery. As to the original post in this thread ... God, I love the preseason.
  7. As the kat points out, they haven't tried that at quarterback. Regarding the defense: Bruschi, Vrabel, Thomas, Harrison, backup NT Kenny Smith, and cornerbacks Fernando Bryant, Jason Webster, and Lewis Sanders are all thirtysomething, and, of course, they just added John Lynch.
  8. Beerball's sarcasm is well known around here ... but apparently not as much as I thought ...
  9. Hmm ... can't tell which question YOU asked, Sphere O'Beer. And something I left out of my earlier, wisecracking reply: very cool of Mr. Graham to reach out to Bills fans like this, and very much appreciated.
  10. Trouble is, Andy Major got the attendance data wrong. The franchise record is 57,132, set in 1992. The old No. 2 was 54,604, from 1991. If the current number is really 55,200 -- and since they were at 54,200 a month ago, I believe it to be true -- this year would knock 1991 down to third.
  11. What? Not a single mention of this site, even though (judging by the names I recognize) at least half the questions he answered came from here? Gonna have to talk to that guy.
  12. Um. Let's hope that some drunk-and-disorderly Bills fans don't see the aqua shirt, completely ignore the name on the back, and stuff you headfirst into a porta-potty ... Well played.
  13. Yep. If you stay on the east side of Abbott, it's Savannah's... ... err, Tailgaters. Milligan's, where GR pitched their tent last year, is on the west side. (That reminds me -- gotta see what everyone's doing for pregames this year ...)
  14. How about you do your own damn research, then? I'm out of here.
  15. Valid question. Perhaps I should expand on my opinion (and this IS just my opinion, and should not be taken as official board policy): The way I see it, if someone wants to present an argument on a certain topic and is willing to debate the point, I don't have a problem. On the other hand, if their contribution is restricted to intermittent drive-bys saying, "<player X> sucks" or words to that effect, then they're coming dangerously close to my definition of trolling. Either way, since my ability to remain objective is obviously in question regarding this subject, I'd already made the decision to recuse myself from moderating Mr. Leaky's posts. Fair enough?
  16. True, that. I don't recall the CFL players kvetching about it when they played the Grey Cup there ... last year, was it? Still, I'll check that out when I have a chance.
  17. A direct quote from Ralph? Nope, one from a guy who has known him -- and covered the team -- for 35 years. This, from the Globe and Mail: The guy who wrote Relentless: I sincerely doubt Pollock, Brunt, Maiorana, and Wawrow are getting their information from websites and message boards.
  18. It's not about season tickets (which are the lowest-priced in the league, by the way). It's about suites and PSLs and other unshared revenue -- the loot that owners like Kraft and Snyder are raking in hand over fist, while leaving small-market owners out in the cold. I hope you're correct about the Bills staying in Buffalo. I really do. But when they go on auction to the highest bidder (as Mr. Wilson suggests will happen after he leaves us), there are no guarantees. If you're the religious type, a few prayers for his continued good health might be appropriate ...
  19. So Big Ben would rather play in the bog that Heinz Field turns into halfway through the season? I seem to remember that two of his teammates suffered season-ending injuries in that Monday Night game against Miami ... (To the RC: as previously noted, if it's Fieldturf, it's decent stuff.)
  20. Little easier to sell out two 20,000-seat hockey arenas than two 60-70,000-seat stadiums, though ...
  21. True, but those teams were once in two different leagues. NFL probably wouldn't have allowed an expansion team in Oakland. For the record, Ralph absolutely considers Toronto part of his market. From Relentless: By the by, the Bills played that game in front of a sellout crowd announced at 55,799. Guessing they didn't pay $300 - 500 per ticket, though ...
