  1. I think Bryan's main role is on special teams; if/when Ellis can supplant him there, he'll start dressing for the games.
  2. Given that everyone on the defense is probably ready to kill Kiffin, they'd run through a wall for Ryan if he's the head coach by next Sunday.
  3. Word is, it's going down today. But while Lofton's a viable candidate, don't be surprised to see defensive coordinator Rob Ryan get the job instead. Here's why: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?.../SPNM12U2H2.DTL
  4. And there was much rejoicing ... You know where I was at re: TE/JP last season, and I haven't seen anything to change my mind. Here's something I really liked from yesterday -- this is about the Evans pass right before the TD to Hardy. Courtesy of the Florida Times-Union:
  5. One thing to note about the Jax Stadium setup -- almost all of their sideline seating, comparable to our 100 level, is actually club seating. If those indoor clubs were available in the lower bowl here, I suspect our stands might not be quite as full, either.
  6. That would be the HIGHEST of any of Buffalo's four trips to JAX, then -- they sold in the 58s for the first two. Their last trip up here in 2006 was blacked out when we "only" sold 63,608 tickets, and the attendance at the one before that (the '04 home opener) was 72,389.
  7. Just before the game, they announced that Milford Brown -- as Brit mentioned, one of the players they just signed -- would get the start at RG. And I was looking forward to Stroud vs. Reyes, too ...
  8. He's the Yahoo!.com NFL writer who broke the Reggie Bush violations story a couple of years ago. Worked at the Freep for a while before that. Holmes had two 100-yard games, almost exactly a season apart.
  9. Jags fans were bitching about it on their message board yesterday, so it was known well in advance. And yes, that makes Del Rio a knucklehead.
  10. The incompletions, in order: 1 - out of EZ 2 - tipped (Reed?), could have been caught 3 - Royal 4 - Hardy 5 - Parrish
  11. This is Matt 'Guitar' Murphy we're talking about. (Or not.)
  12. Nope. Murphy is in his seventh season, and he played 21 games (including 11 in 2004) in three years with the Texans.
  13. They signed him because with Brian Williams now at SS, they needed another corner worse than a fifth safety. Plus, he's better than Jamaal Fudge, the guy they cut. At least that's my guess.
  14. Found that game thread: "Is it me or is this Colts team look average without Peyton Manning?"
  15. Dig back into last month's archives, and you'll find a separate thread on the Indy announcers. Chuck Pollock bashed them in a column, too, and I'm sure he wasn't the only one.
  16. The air of condescension in that "I can't stand to see a grown man cry" backpedal was unmistakable, insulting, and certainly unnecessary. I'm pleased our fans in the Capitol District will be able to see the game, but in my opinion, Furlong fumbled twice on this drive. Am I wrong to expect better from the general manager of a television station? Anyway, enjoy the game, Albanyites. Congratulations on making yourselves heard.
  17. Here you go ... http://www.twobillsdrive.com/articles/game...me_day_preview/
  18. From the sounds of it, PTR, he kindasorta doesn't have anyone to run the board and screen calls, so that may take a while.
  19. Think I mentioned it Sunday -- I still have the post you wrote when you checked in here the next day.
