  1. The roof is closed for all September/October games. Here's the official word from the University of Phoenix Stadium Web site:
  2. Bills CB McGee out Sunday versus Cardinals
  3. Royal did start. They came out with 2WR/2TE, and Schouman is listed as the starting FB.
  4. Breaking news: Jets S Eric Smith fined $50K and suspended for a game for the hit.
  5. You understand the logic? If I were you, I'd be frightened by that thought. Et tu, todd? I mean, I understand the rookies being reeled in ...
  6. 4-0. No. 8 in points scored. No. 5 in points allowed.
  7. Technically, since the Bills were behind at the end of the third quarter, I guess it counts. That said, it's true that the Bills were leading by the time the offense took the field for the first time in the fourth. But 10 years from now, when we're recounting the beginnings of the Trent Edwards legend, nobody will remember that small detail ...
  8. Really? I'll check that out. According to the gamebook, you're correct: Here's the only possible answer I found in the rulebook: Guess that rules supersedes the 5/15 one? And of course, with Hester back there, Chicago is ALWAYS going to ask for a re-kick.
  9. Bills are 4-0, with 16 of 22 starters either drafted by the team or signed as UDFA rookies. So, I agree: Nice going Bills FO!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. In the locker room after the game, he said he felt okay, but he'd know more tomorrow (today) ...
  11. A five and a ten offset. (And that was a hold by Pace.) Five and fifteen don't -- the fifteen-yarder is enforced. From the rulebook:
  12. Current forecast for Phoenix next Sunday has the high temp at "only" 97 degrees. By mid-afternoon, I'm thinking I'll be happy to partake of the stadium's air-conditioning.
  13. Nah, he was down by contact. Whether or not Looker knew he was making contact, their legs did appear to touch while LMK was on the ground.
  14. Good to see another TSW original return. Lot 1, Pole 5, if you make it up this way.
  15. I'm no expert in setting lines, but I believe the home team normally gets three points added to their total. So if the Cards are two-point favorites, they're saying the Bills are a slightly better team, but Arizona's home-field advantage counteracts that. I can live with that. They were road 'dogs to JAX, too.
  16. He would have enjoyed it more (and I think you're right about him wanting the gig), but those are still some brutally long hours. The last time I talked to him in person, late last season, I was mildly surprised by how tired he looked. Still sounded like the Marv we all know, but honestly, I wasn't at all shocked when he stepped down a month later.
  17. Is that what I said? No. For better or worse, Donahoe was certainly more involved than Levy on draft day, which is what I thought you meant by "Marv did bring more oversight into the draft." Perhaps you want to reword that statement.
  18. Let me try this again: IT WAS MARV'S DECISION TO LEAVE. He didn't need a fatter contract, and at 82, he didn't need any more of the long hours required of the position, or the office work he didn't enjoy. He's 82, and he's back home in Chicago writing a novel, something he's always wanted to do.
  19. C'mon, people. Disagree with the man all you like, but stop trying to get him riled up by f^ing with his screen name (or other juvenile BS).
  20. Upon further review ... while their helmets did end up connecting, McKelvin led with his shoulder. And Looker was ducking to brace for the hit, which may have also played a role.
  21. Yes. Unfortunately, since he apparently didn't "ID" McGee and Greer during their draft years, he has no love for the Bills' starting CBs. Even though they've picked off more passes (3) than they've allowed touchdowns (2), and opposing QBs have completed fewer than half their passes, compiling a microscopic 64.3 passer rating. Not bad for a second-day pick and a UDFA. So, since a rookie can't crack that lineup -- as opposed to the 2-2 Saints, which featured the Jasons (David and Craft) by the end of last year, is dealing with injuries to Randall Gay (hamstring) and Mike McKenzie (returning from last season's ACL tear), and currently ranks 29th in passing yardage allowed (24 spots behind the fifth-ranked Bills) -- he obviously sucks.
  22. Should've been here to join the fun last night. We needed at least one 3.5 reference to make this thread a true classic. Valid point ...
