  1. At first, I wasn't sure which team I wanted to win that game, because I have equal disdain for both coaches. (Still think they shouldn't have stopped John Chaney from going after Coach Vacated, in fact.) But between WVU's gritty kids and UK's pouting lottery picks? No contest.
  2. Business trip. I guess they had some basketball games at the dome, or something.
  3. Here's a thought. Seeing as how he's up here from Florida, and the current temp in Buffalo is in the 40s, could the jacket be borrowed? If that part's true.
  4. Well, crap. @HJKforever: JK said he won't give me the #TimTebow scoop because I'll put it on Twitter. Now what do I do?? FWIW, unlike the usual "guess who I saw?" thread, I let this one roll without digging for a source. Why? Because if you'll remember back to last week, Ed Kilgore mentioned that Tebow was due in for a visit ...
  5. Yes. JW mentioned that whenever he covered a major tournament, if he needed anyone for an interview, he could usually find them in the beer tent. Talked to Amy Moritz at the beginning of the week. She'd just tried it for the first time the day before, and told me it's a lot harder than it looks, but she had an absolute blast. Now I want to try it ... Add: Figured she would have blogged about it, and she did: http://amymoritz.wordpress.com/2010/03/22/...nd-the-details/
  6. Beat me to it: http://twitter.com/HJKforever/statuses/11224144922
  7. In fact, I would think that heavy drinking would be a prerequisite for sitting through an entire hour of that show. And that's coming from someone who used to consider O'Reilly "appointment TV" ...
  8. So you're saying you're not a real conservative? Hope you're having fun amusing yourself ...
  9. That's the big question. Cars can be replaced. As for that, I never got into the idea of leasing. If I'm paying that much money for something, I want to own it when I'm done. Had pretty good luck with my first two cars -- both three years old when I got them, but in good shape and with low-to-moderate mileage. (This dealership sends most of its trade-ins to auction, keeping only the cleanest ones.) Decided to go new the last time, but only because I could get the GM employee discount, and plan on driving this one till it drops.
  10. Which, um, apparently needs a couple of additions, at least for the big board. Thanks for doing the beta testing on that, Simonizer...
  11. As a researcher, I'm disappointed that they're not trying to draw a more complete picture of the population... ... but spartacus wasn't kidding when he mentioned that the government used census data to round up the Japanese-Americans during WWII, a decision that wasn't exactly one of our country's finer moments.
  12. Heh. When "our" Tim first signed up here, Dean saw the name, assumed it was that other guy (who I'd never heard of), and absolutely shredded him. Took a couple of PMs to clear that up ...
  13. Damn. Hugs to Eric. Anything I can do, you've got my number...
  14. Bingo. FWIW, the following is from a beat guy who actually did talk to McNabb's agent: http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/dneagles/
  15. SalPal has been in Philly for a long time; he was an Iggles beat guy before going to ESPN... Funny that the 49ers are mentioned, since that was the team involved in the fake ESPN report that surfaced two weeks ago. Here's Matt Williamson's take, via Mike Sando: http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcwest/post/_/id/...in-the-division
  16. Considering that the same cop who wrote up the incident report was posing for pictures with Big Ben earlier that evening ...
  17. The video on NFL.com would seem to suggest otherwise. As Vikings owner Zygi Wilf announces his intention to vote against the rule change, Wade Phillips is sitting in front of him. Believe you'll also see Gailey during the clip. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true
  18. http://www.houstontexans.com/news/Story.asp?story_id=6088 Not at all what I expected to read. Wow. I wish him the best.
  19. Way to hack up a hairball, Habs. 2-0 lead with 2:00 left. Crap.
  20. Haven't checked to see if this is on SabreSpace yet (although I can safely assume that it is) ... http://www.icethetics.info/blog/2010/3/24/...watch-2010.html
  21. POKE53280,0 POKE53281,0 Did your screen/background just change to black? Sold my cassette drive when I bought the 1541, but count me as another one who still owns a C64. Used to kill John Elway's Quarterback on that thing ... playing as the Bills, of course.
  22. Maybe he takes over Wendling's role on ST? Seem to remember him blowing a couple of guys up on returns last year.
  23. At this point, not sure it would be enough of an upgrade to make a difference.
  24. It should ... because Cunningham, like Culpepper, was throwing to an in-his-prime Randy Moss. Future Hall of Famer Cris Carter was on that team, too.
  25. I happen to think it's entirely relevant that he hasn't thrown more touchdowns than picks or had a passer rating over 78.0 in any of the last five seasons, but maybe that's just me. By all means, feel free to base your opinion on events which happened when Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith were still in the league.
