  1. Yup. This is how I would have handled it: Here's a cake with a clean white sheet of frosting on the top, here's a tube of icing, knock yourself out. (See what I did there?)
  2. I'll go even further: he'd be an instant upgrade for any team in the AFC East. Ty Law won't stick around forever, and the Fins' CBs aren't anything special.
  3. Considering the fact that Simon was no longer able to get guests from the team on the air after he jumped to GR -- entirely Donahoe's doing, following his spat with a couple of the other hosts -- I'd be genuinely curious to know what his response to this was.
  4. Good point. I remember writing about him in one of the Lions previews -- think they actually benched George Foster midway through last season to play Scott, who promptly got hurt and ended up on I.R. To be honest, I was surprised nobody else had picked him up ... he's not great, but I didn't think he was overly terrible, either. Just a guy. And with Peters, Walker, and rookie Demetrius Bell all signed for at least two more years, Scott could potentially replace Kirk Chambers, who will become a free agent at the end of the season.
  5. Cincinnati - VaTech? I know someone who's covering that game, and even he isn't all that thrilled about going. On the other hand, if I was in Miami for the holiday ... yeah, I'd probably be tempted. Just checked Rose Bowl tix on StubHub; end zone seats are $150 and up. 'Course, that's two teams people actually care about.
  6. If you live in Maryland, are you going to buy a ticket to a game in Boise ?!?
  7. Good to "see" you, Grant. Hope you're doing well, and that you have a wonderful holiday.
  8. http://buffalonews.typepad.com/sully_on_sp...chat-wit-1.html Like he says, plenty to talk about this week ...
  9. R.I.P to a true legend of the game. "Slingin' Sammy" was the last surviving member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's charter class in 1963. http://www.profootballhof.com/history/rele...release_id=3002
  10. No. I also wouldn't object to free Samuel Adams products at the concession stands, which is just about as likely to happen.
  11. Guessing the Pats fans will take care of that detail for us ... they normally do, when the Bills fans are heading for the exits with the game out of reach. Remind me again why I think this is a fun way to spend an afternoon?
  12. Consider the source, but still interesting ... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/93946-i...e-chizik-a-job#
  13. Early in Sunday's game, I thought I heard one of the announcers mention Edwards and said the team was waiting to decide whether or not he needs surgery. But it was never discussed again, and none of the local media repeated it.
  14. Rick (his dad) said all along that he should be starting at LB, not cutting weight to try to play safety. It didn't look like the Bills were going to give him that shot, so he was probably moving on at the end of last year, with or without the failed physical. Quality kid, and I wish him well.
  15. Random, perhaps, and I just happened to get the extended version the first time through? Hmmm ...
  16. Que? When I hit "definitely NOT renew" (for spits and giggles), it asked me why and gave me a text box to respond. So ... either your answers fell into the we-don't-need-followup category, or that line of questioning has already gotten enough profane answers to make them remove it. Hmmm .. this needs further research ...
  17. Mark MY words, if we start that nonsense again, the beatings will commence shortly thereafter.
