  1. Ooh, I should've mentioned that, mill. Thanks. As some of you probably know, Brad couldn't really take calls when he was doing the show solo. Now that he'll have someone to produce, the phone lines are open ... I'll go back and add contact info to the original post.
  2. They were, according to the guy who was rescued. http://www.freep.com/article/20090302/SPOR...linging+to+side
  3. Your link goes to Bob Matthews' column, not Felser's. So, wait. Matthews leads his column with something SOMEBODY ELSE WROTE?!? And merely lists the players, without commenting on any of them? Of course, since I don't think he's been in the press box at a Bills game in 20 years, maybe he doesn't recognize some of the names. D&C management got rid of their best writer, Scott Pitoniak, and this guy still has a job? Really? Unf^%$&ingbelievable. Better buy a few more rolls of stamps before the price goes up, Mr. Matthews, so you can keep mailing it in.
  4. Once you start up the big hill on 219 South, it starts to fade. That's why I used Orchard Park as the cutoff point. Thanks for the info on Ruben's whereabouts tonight. My folks are there with DeGeorge Ceilings; maybe I should have them stop by and say hi ...
  5. Radio talk. 1kW = 1 kilowatt = what Dave said. On a good day, I can pick up WECK (whose transmitter is on Genesee St.) out at Ralph Wilson Stadium, but nothing further south. If you're in the Northtowns, you'd probably have better luck with WLVL, which broadcasts from Lockport. To compare, WGR has a 5kW transmitter, and I can normally get them down here in northern Pa. But if your computer is set up with audio, the Web feed is the way to go.
  6. Jesus F. Christ. You posted a link to a page that included a shirtless Skip Clueless without adding a "NSFW" or other warning? Damn. I think I'm going to be sick.
  7. I got the same impression you did, Dave, but I think Bucky is the only regularly-scheduled addition to that list. Bob Gaughan is "old WGR," of course, but he's been appearing on Brad's show right along (and co-hosted Main Event last year). So to answer your question ... hmm, I'm not quite sure I can answer that. koolaid, WECK and WLVL are 1kW stations in the Buffalo area. Brad took over as their sports director roughly a year ago; since then, the "Brad Riter Radio Network" has added UB football and hoops, and will also broadcast Yankees games beginning this spring.
  8. As previously mentioned in this thread and in the Buffalo News, March 2 marks the debut of Brad Riter's new show on WECK-AM 1230 and WLVL-AM 1340. Here's part of the press release from early January: It isn't being promoted (pigeonholed?) as a "sports show," but knowing Brad, there will still be a ton of Bills/Sabres/UB talk as well as other sports content. The tentative schedule includes the following guests: Monday: 5:30pm Reggie Witherspoon 6-7pm Ruben Brown 6:30pm Michael Strahan Tuesday: 6-7pm Bucky Gleason Wednesday: 6-7pm Bob Gaughan Thursday: 6-6:30pm Tim Graham And on Mondays, the local sports talk doesn't stop at 7 p.m. "The Sports Insiders," a show hosted by Buffalo News writers Allen Wilson and Rodney McKissic and WECK weekend news anchor (and former WKBW sportscaster) Joe Major, promises "the inside info from the guys with the credentials." Best of luck to all, and you can click here to listen to the live broadcast. Call in: 716-783-9325 IM : BradOnWeck Email: BradonWeck(at)gmail.com
  9. Hahaha. 864 comments -- and still going strong -- since 12:25 p.m. Somehow, it's now about the Steelers and HGH. And suddenly, Tim hanging out here instead of there makes perfect sense ...
  10. As for starting new threads calling on our resident ESPN insider, I didn't have a problem with the Waters one, but I wouldn't want to see the board flooded with them. He does have actual work to do, you know. (And FWIW, although he probably would have eventually found that one on his own, I did let him know he was being paged over here.) I considered pinning an "Ask Tim ..." thread up top, but based on our experiences when we did the same for Lary Bump and Mike Doser when we were partnered with Shout!, those have the potential to get seriously stupid if they're not strictly moderated. Tim, feel free to throw in your .02 here. For now, I think we'll just ask everyone to use their good judgment. Unlike this thread ...
  11. Between the typos and the overall weirdness factor, I'm assuming alcohol is involved.
  12. Seriously? Don't get me wrong, he's good, but not THAT good. And Fingon's correct, of course: not only wouldn't he make that call, it could cost him his job.
  13. Maybe not, but they probably don't go rolling around in the gravel in Lot 1, either. Hammer and Buddy go for walks over there, you know. Tim: Outstanding!
  14. Theirs is old news, which gordon's contradicts.
  15. ***sigh*** It's not, of course. It all links back to the same story that began this thread. And unless the Chiefs feel like making a deal, it doesn't matter what the Bills want.
  16. Oh, it is, and they also wipe the ball down between shots. But still ... It doesn't help that the Wisniowka smells exactly like cherry cough syrup. One of the bottles Kenny took to Jacksonville (I think? It was before Phoenix ...) broke inside Dee's suitcase during the flight. She was NOT happy. And I'll let Kenny tell you about the Secret Service guys in Tampa. Far as I know, the next tailgate is in Canton. C'mon down!
  17. Guessing Stupar didn't get a multimillion-dollar signing bonus ... but you already knew that ...
  18. Sorry, clump, I didn't see this thread among all the chaff ... And as always, thanks for the immense amount of work you do to put this together.
  19. We know. The guy who wrote the report for ESPN.com just told us: http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?s=&am...t&p=1334152 http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-6-1/D...d-in-Coles.html
