  1. For what it's worth, Chan Gailey was just on FAN590 -- that's a Toronto sportstalker, for those of you outside the area -- and shared some thoughts on a few subjects. Most of it echoed what he told reporters earlier this week. The main topics: As it stands right now, there's an open competition for the quarterback job. They need to add another one to the roster, but he didn't provide any details about how they were going to do that. No hints about the No. 1 pick or suggestions that they were interested in trading for a certain Philadelphia player, in other words. No surprise there; he knows how to play the media game. Tim Tebow is an incredible leader, but he "has a hitch in his motion that would not allow him to be a successful quarterback at the NFL level" unless he corrects it. Judging by his pro day and workout, he has made some progress on that during this offseason ... but overall, Gailey doesn't sound too impressed with pro-day performances, calling them an opportunity to "look good for the press and the fans." Used the what's-going-to-happen-when-the-bullets-fly reference again, saying, "You don't know if he can change it -- and if it'll stick." The secondary is the strongest part of the team. In fact, that's the only position where he feels pretty good about their depth as the draft approaches. "Other than that," he said, "we can afford help almost anywhere." Left tackle is "definitely one of our thought processes going into the draft, and a very high priority." Overall, he feels that a team can never have enough quality offensive linemen. More coachspeak, sure, but still a departure from the team's M.O. for most of the last decade. Cue the snarls about how Gailey has time to talk to a radio station but not personally escort Lynch to workouts, in 3... 2... 1...
  2. Brilliant point. (And I'm not being sarcastic.)
  3. Yep, you got me. Baseball/softball teams opened their seasons last night, but no more games to cover until the middle of next week. I started a thread, then saw that someone else had done it first, so I just moved the links over here and nuked mine...
  4. No prob. Click on a user's screen name, and select "view profile" from the drop-down menu. Then, on the profile page, click on "profile options" and select "ignore user."
  5. TBD Politics board ====> thataway.
  6. Likewise, but I knew people would ask. Suspect the same for the regular season, with the possible exception of the yearly humiliation at New England.
  7. Beat me to the punch by thatmuch. Jackson Youboty
  8. Apparently, the original poster must have access to his itinerary, dinner companions, and phone records (to know who he has or hasn't tried to contact).
  9. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true Week of: Aug. 12-16 -- @ Washington Aug. 19-23 -- Indy (Toronto) Aug. 26-29 -- Cincinnati Sept. 2-3 -- @ Detroit No national broadcasts.
  10. They absolutely used it as an advantage for many years, wearing white to force the road team to wear its heat-attracting dark home jerseys. Must be that wasn't good enough anymore.
  11. No posts have been deleted. Three threads all sourcing the same story have been merged. Regards, the management
  12. Oy. Nice research by that writer.
  13. Do you have proof that he hasn't tried to call? Maybe Lynch doesn't answer his phone. Again, you know Gailey wasn't there? Since none of us has seen the guest list, all we have is Jill Kelly's tweet and John Wawrow's subsequent confirmation through Kelly's office ... and the eyewitness account posted on this board, which mentioned Kelly AND some unnamed Bills officials. Would that poster be able to recognize Gailey? Who knows? And speaking of the "short time," maybe he meant the fact that Tebow has umpteen other teams to visit.
  14. He is. In fact, he was the player I saw quoted about the changes in the weight room.
  15. Sure, no prob. Originally posted it in the "offseason conditioning" thread. The first line is a tweet by Whitner; the second is his retweet (RT) of, and reply to, a question from Shaunta53. This is why I included "Club Jauron" in my question to Tim:
  16. Just as long as he doesn't turn into Gregggg Williams, with an airhorn and "opportunity laps" ...
  17. I sense an old Star Trek line coming up: "He's dead, Jim."
  18. We were waiting for the air to clear.
  19. Why, this year's first-round pick, of course!
  20. Hey, hope you had a good weekend. Were you at the fieldhouse today? We've heard about the renovations to the weight room, and our man Whitner tweeted about losing his breakfast. With that in mind, I'm wondering how Gailey's workouts compare to what we've mocked for several years as "Camp Jauron."
  21. Maybe, maybe not. They played at Detroit in August 2006, then went back in October.
  22. From yesterday's media advisory: "REMINDER - The offseason conditioning program is VOLUNTARY for all Bills players."
  23. Some people just can't take a hint.
  24. Was supposed to be during the owners' meetings, yes. They must have run into a major problem to pull it back. And no, I'm pretty sure it's not out there yet.
  25. I still can't wrap my mind around Wood sitting in a hospital bed watching that replay. Seeing it the first time was more than enough for me ...
