  1. Oooh, color-shifting helmets. And the striping reminds me of the U, whose orange-and-green Halloween costumes I've been ripping for several years. At least they ditched the black jerseys ...
  2. Yeah, I recall that several of those releases were issued long after you guys had confirmed the deals by other means. Lessee ... you had both McIntyre and Chambers in a story on the 26th, but the archives over at bb.com show Mar. 3 for the McIntyre release, and Mar. 4 for Chambers. (Strangely, though, they got the one for Owens out within an hour and a half of his press conference ... ) For the others, I'm guessing they wait until the signed contract has been approved by the league office to make the official announcement?
  3. [This is an automated response] As a courtesy to the other board members, please use more descriptive subject lines. The topic starter can edit the subject line to make it more appropriate. Thank you.
  4. Fixed. 1996 wasn't all that much fun at the time, although come to think of it, I sure wouldn't mind having another home playoff game in my lifetime ...
  5. Ya know, HT, that reply probably would've been a lot funnier if Kirk wasn't married ...
  6. CRACCCCCK!!! Still rising as it cleared the fence -- I think that one's got a shot at the upper deck ...
  7. One point: some of the beat guys are still talking about Chambers starting at LG. Whether that's anything MORE than talk remains to be seen, of course ... Oh, and welcome aboard. Really, we don't bite. Often.
  8. Which again begs the question of why he bothered doing this in the first place ... Then again, this is EXACTLY what I expected when I first read about it, so I can't say I'm disappointed by the result.
  9. Good to see you back, BADOL. I was beginning to worry that T.O. was the final straw ...
  10. Fan interaction. It's all the rage, you know. I liked how Brandon's performance at the pre-draft luncheon was described to me: "typically evasive." That said, thanks for sharing your boredom with us, BGiM. (No, wait. That didn't come out right. Seriously, thanks, and please continue.)
  11. Mmmmm ... LiddyBuck. Saw the Mac in Buffalo in '03, decided I *HAD* to see him again, so a friend and I drove to Indy and dropped a bunch of money on good seats -- four rows back, right in front of him. Gawd, that guy can shred strings. I'm still kicking myself for not going when they were in Rochester last month, but it would've been tough to top that Indy trip ...
  12. Wondered about that. I'd been thinking it was 10, but when I checked, that was only for in-season stuff. Thanks, John.
  13. Most other teams, maybe not. Again, this is the Jags we're talking about. (And okay, maybe -- MAYBE -- I'm exaggerating a little for effect. Then again, maybe not.)
  14. Muahahahaha. And maddog, you haven't met Joe, have you?
  15. It's the Jaguars. Does it really matter which one?
  16. Holt instantly becomes their best WR since Jimmy Smith retired.
  17. You're looking at last year's test. I hope.
  18. Third overall pick in the 1946 NFL draft, to the Steelers. Instead of playing pro ball, though, he transferred to the Air Force and flew fighter jets in the Korea and Vietnam conflicts. Thank you for your service, sir, and rest well.
  19. Good news, Rubes. Cincy ... you took notes ?!?!?!?
  20. To me, Paul's hair is quite a bit darker. But inside the Big Tree and after a couple of beers ... Yeah, okay, I can see that happening. And hey, he bought you drinks, so it's all good.
  21. Terrible. The same form that killed Ernie Davis. (Not that it matters, I suppose -- ALL cancer is evil.) http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2009/apr/19...ia/?partner=RSS
