  1. "anyone else want to strangle Greenberg" Why should today be any different than the other 250 days a year (give or take a few) that he's on the air?
  2. Peters only missed the opener and the last two games last season.
  3. http://scottpitoniak.blogspot.com/ To be honest, he's got it right -- we can banter all we like, but none of us knows what the Bills have for sure until they actually suit up and play a few games. (Of course, where's the fun in saying, "Wait two years and I'll let you know"?) I do know one thing, though: It's good to see the former D+C columnist writing again. Welcome back, Scott.
  4. Yea, because the Bills' previous 6th- and 7th-round CBs are lighting it up. Oh, wait ... anyone seen Kennard Cox lately? Kevin Thomas? Jimmy Williams? That takes us back to 2001. On the other hand, some previous late picks at other positions have contributed, either here or elsewhere. (Although, oddly, not so much after Donahoe got here.) Jay Riemersma. Bryce Fisher. Heck, even Mario Haggan. And now, we're apparently counting on one of last year's 7th-rounders to be an integral part of the OT rotation.
  5. Definitely better up the middle, unless anyone here yearns to return to the days of Fowler/Preston. And if the kids round into shape soon enough to allow Butler to move back outside, then I'll feel a little better about the team's decision not to select an OT this weekend.
  6. Played safety for several years (and one Pro Bowl) in the NFL, in fact.
  7. Graham: Maiorana: Sully: The late run on CBs will be mentioned more than once going forward.
  8. And yet, the Bills apparently expect a seventh-rounder to be an important part of their OT rotation. Hmmm ...
  9. Lot of "ifs" there, but I feel really good about both O-linemen and Nelson, who I think becomes the Bills' best TE as soon as he signs his contract. Still not a big Tampa 2 fan, but if N. Harris can send Ellison to the bench, that's all right, too. Safety ... we'll see. Personally, I thought they were all right with Scott and Whitner, and maybe with adding more than one piece to the pass rush. They're counting on Schobel's foot being 100 percent, I think. Hope they're correct about that.
  10. Even though the Bills seem to view them as interchangeable? If they're two entirely different positions, after all, one could reasonably expect Byrd to have problems adapting to the switch.
  11. Bill said DBs, not CBs. And the number of top-ten picks used on safeties is minuscule -- I count five in the last 15 years. One (Roy Williams) has been released by the team that drafted him; another (Michael Huff) may join him, and one (Sean Taylor), unfortunately, is no longer with us. That leaves LaRon Landry and Donte Whitner as the last two standing, and the jury's still out on Whitner (pun not intended).
  12. I counted nine? Either way, nothing to forecast the run on DBs by DJ since he got to Buffalo.

  14. That explanation hasn't worked so well, the last nine years or so. Just sayin' ...
  15. Nah, we can find another Pro Bowl OT on the street. Hey, it worked once, right? I'm all right with the first five picks, but there's room to argue that a monkey with a dartboard could have equaled the "haul" in Rounds 5-7. Good thing this team has plenty of depth.
  16. Of course not. The DB they want at that pick might be gone if they trade down.

  18. Okay, now they're just messing with us. Seriously.
  19. Brought a first-round pick for Peerless Price, the one used to draft Willis McGahee. Nothing since Donahoe left, though.
  20. Apparently not, according to the Bills' draft board.
