  1. On a possibly related note ... Going 'Paperless' to Thwart Scalpers Yeah, this'll work. Could you imagine 73,000 people standing in line at RWS, credit cards in hand, waiting for the scanners at the gates to print out "seat locators"? Me neither.
  2. Not sure they could make a PG version of that.
  3. The Shaara books are good reads, but if you're looking for a comprehensive history from Fort Sumter to Appomattox, this discussion begins and ends with Shelby Foote's three-volume The Civil War: A Narrative.
  4. I guess instead of the , I'm going to have to append a WARNING:SARCASM tag to my attempts at humor from now on ...
  5. Right, so what's your point? (Eleven years here. )
  6. Without clicking the link, I assume that's the Dead Schembechlers' greatest hit?
  7. Nicely played, sir. Sometimes I wish I could use that feature of the board ...
  8. Reads more like one of Rome's clones. Not sure there's a difference.
  9. Tyler Thigpen. That the dude who had three turnovers against Buffalo last year?
  10. Ms. to Mr. Sohn: Nelson's absence this week, as well as the fact that Schouman and Edwards have been playing catch for three years now, might just have something to do with their "greater rapport." Just sayin'.
  11. Dude, the face price on those tickets is $70.
  12. Microbrews and more fanciful brews ... like the J.W. Dundee's line? I'd be interested to know what percentage of HFBC's gross profit they're pulling in these days.
  13. Expired on Monday. I think they do plan to renew it, but the legislature couldn't get the extension done in time. (NYS legislature not getting something done on deadline. Go figure.) http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/200...ale_law_ex.html
  14. Nah, hold off on that correction. For all we know, you could be right ... just saying there's a chance he doesn't have nefarious intent. BTW (to all): did you know that scalping is currently illegal in NYS? The law permitting it expired a couple of days ago ...
  15. We used to buy upward of 100 for the home opener, so all the TBD folk who wanted to sit together could do so. Not inconceivable that someone could get together 32 family/friends/coworkers for a game. Besides, based on the number of Miami tickets I've carried into the stadium in recent years because I couldn't get rid of them, that might not be the best game to scalp anyway. Re: Kelly, I assume he still has his suite.
  16. Change "may" to "did not" -- because the source of that information had already been reported -- and you may have something there. You're right, John. That's B.S.
  17. Ticketmaster is currently showing single-seats-only for the Browns game. And yes, the opener is "sold out" ... except for an unknown number of tickets being held back for season-package sales, as they do every year.
  18. The same reason they hardly ever say anything remotely interesting when the mics are on.
  19. A little insight on Chris Berman, Bills fan, courtesy of Scott Pitoniak: http://scottpitoniak.blogspot.com/2009/06/...est-backer.html
  20. Holy crap, how did I miss this thread on the first runthrough?
  21. AAAAUUGGHH!! (runs screaming out of room)
  22. Quality column. And I'll note that most of the Bills' postseason meetings take place at Ralph's winter home in Florida ...
