  1. Take a look at those sorry-ass Bengals teams -- Akili Smith, anyone? -- and ask yourself if any other coach in the league could have done better. No Cincy coach following Forrest Gregg, who was gone after the 1983 season, has managed to compile a winning record.
  2. That's normally done with training-camp cutdowns. If they're not even bothering to take him to camp ...
  3. No, you had it right. Just sayin' that Jordan Black -- whom Aaron Schobel used and abused when the Chiefs played here a few years ago -- actually does exist.
  4. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jordan_Black_...rican_football) Of course, Gross is the current Panther.
  5. Mularkey offered him the DC job when he took over for Gregg Williams. Cowher called and asked him to come back to Pittsburgh. Easy decision.
  6. Nope. 9-7 (AZ last year, SEA in 2006, 2004.) Chargers won the AFC West at 8-8 last year, though. First time that's happened since Cleveland in '85. Waitaminute. That was just division winners. Rechecking ... Nope. Still nothing below .500 since the futzed-up strike season in 1982, when the 4-5 Browns and Lions had the privilege of losing to the eventual Super Bowl teams, the Raiders and Redskins, in the first round.
  7. Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, on the other hand ... Hmmm. Regarding the Toronto game, they may have a Thursday winning streak going. (RJ at Jax?) Think I'll go check that. Edit: Yup, in fact, that 2001 game was their last prime-time win of any sort.
  8. Well, that turned out to be a mistake, too. (grrrr .... still annoyed about that ...)
  9. The one about losing the out-of-conference games to get into the playoffs might still be his finest work. The starter of this thread is a mere neophyte in comparison. (Unless he was actually serious ... and perhaps drinking ... when he posted that?)
  10. Still the greatest single play in Bills history, in my opinion. Because it was Miami and Marino. RUN the ball? Seriously (even though it would have been the safer call)?
  11. There were so many people begging for them here on the Wall, I remember calling around to area Tops Markets, then posting which ones had them in stock. (Same with Flutie jerseys when the mania hit its peak after the Jax game ...)
  12. Hahahaha. That stuff wasn't edible BEFORE the sell-by date.
  13. For anyone who might actually bite on the lure Crayonz is casting, Byrd didn't have a choice. NFL rule. Doesn't matter if he hasn't set foot on campus since Oregon's final game last season; if his classmates who are going pro in something other than football are stuck cramming for their finals, he's not allowed to be here. Add: I should note that this has already been addressed on Page 1, but I wanted to get the people who came in late and missed the opening credits ...
  14. Not even a good attempt at trolling. You're no Crayonz.
  15. That in itself should tell you there's not much of a competition.
  16. In other breaking news, water is wet. Although to be entirely clear, teams were using the two-minute drill while Wyche (not spelling) was still playing. The Bengals just decided to run it more often.
  17. Actually, he was reading this thread about half an hour ago. So, yeah, we're probably not going to hear from him again on this topic. And that's not a bad thing, either.
  18. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2009/06/10/m...ropped-charges/ And Sen, I do recall at least one person ranting, "Send the turd to jail." Hopefully that poster will drop by to clarify his statement.
  19. I tried to make that point in the thread linked above, and was told I must not have a good sense of humor.
  20. The credential application doesn't list a date, but does say that the Bills' media relations department will be operational at SJF "after July 27." So, somewhere in that neighborhood. Edit: Check that. Plan on July 25.
  21. Awesome news. Now where does he go to get his reputation back?
  22. Yeah. I'd like to hear this one too. And yes, Kelly called his own plays. From "Armed and Dangerous":
  23. Now, I like Ozzie. But if you're going to start listing names, it's only fair to point out that the Ravens drafted in the Top 10 five years in a row, which makes it a little easier to stockpile talent. (And doesn't say much for the pro-scouting guy during that time period.)
