  1. I disagree. Following a request for previous discussions of the 11.5-sack stat: http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=87451 http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=87104 And one with the exact list: http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=86023
  2. Thankfully so. Maybe others might enjoy watching a game with 100-decibel mosquitoes as an aural backdrop, but I'll pass.
  3. Thanks in return for the heads-up on the story's origin, saving me the trouble. (I hadn't checked the TBD front page at that point.) I'm pretty sure one of Jeff's coworkers reads this board, and that's an e-mail I wouldn't have enjoyed receiving.
  4. Believe it when I see it ... but I have to say, I loved the NF-Toronto-Montreal-QC round trip I took on VIA years ago. 150 mph? Half an hour from Buffalo to Rochester? Win.
  5. He's not referring to Rice.
  6. You are. The Seattle game was the only one he missed until the two at the end of the season. And to respond to an earlier question, searching both the AFC East blog and Tim's posts on this site for Mike Gandy returns no results.
  7. I think that if you think the Walker/Butler combo at tackle will be better than Peters/Walker ... well, I just hope you're right.
  8. I'm hoping that was merely a (poor) attempt at trolling, and that he actually does know that Derrick Brooks and Keith Brooking are two different people ...
  9. No doubt. We've been trying to figure out how TMZ got the story ahead of the traditional media. Someone suggested the possibility that they're paying a retainer to certain people at the hospitals out there, so they'll make a phone call in case someone famous shows up. And CNN's performance -- or lack thereof -- was simply embarrassing.
  10. Is it wrong that after reading the replies and hovering over the link, I intentionally clicked it to see what TBD's favorite pixy has been doing lately? (Mistake. Man, that dude gets creepier by the year.) To answer the original question -- can't give you an exact date, but I assume it's from the neighborhood of his HOF induction in 2002.
  11. It would be more effective, yes. And from other things I've read, he was already dead when EMS arrived, but the doc insisted they continue CPR until he was pronounced at the hospital. If the tidbit about Demerol in the Senator's link is true, there's one hell of a malpractice/wrongful death lawsuit brewing ... and I wonder if he was already considering that possibility.
  12. Good plan. Did you smoke the tires on the rental car as you left?
  13. That's pretty weird. Did the previous owner shoot adult movies on the side, I wonder? And yeah, I'm assuming that place didn't make the cut.
  14. http://www.oleantimesherald.com/articles/2...283-archive.txt The first time I ever really got a chance to talk about the Bills with Chuck, a couple of years after this column was written, we somehow arrived at this topic. I'd already seen and heard a few things that made me reluctant to hop on the "Saint Doug" bandwagon, and he reinforced that decision ...
  15. Yup. HOF Game tix are also in hand -- Bills vs Titans "playing as the Houston Oilers." Great.
  16. True, but he also had a few in the W column, no? And I have to admit it's amusing to read about the media having "fooled you into thinking he's some great guy who is just like you and me," when most of the beat writers couldn't stand the guy. Think what you will of Bucky Gleason, but he wrote what a lot of them were thinking when he filed the "don't let the door hit you on the way out of Buffalo" column upon Flutie's departure. That one's long gone from the Internets (although I think I still have the print version somewhere), but you can get the gist of it here: http://www.boston.com/news/globe/magazine/...of_doug_flutie/
  17. Bingo. Browns rookies have to report on July 24, but the Bills vets are due on the 25th. Nobody else -- including, oddly, the Titans -- starts their full camp before the 29th. NFL training camp reporting dates
  18. Thanks, Brad. And yes, TG rocks. Loved it when he ripped into the so-and-so who called him a scumbag on the blog.
  19. A friend just typed at me, "This night will break the world record for gallows humor in newsrooms." And then he added this: http://www.picpop.com/gallery/albums/userp...omealone111.JPG http://www.ktla.com/news/landing/ktla-mich...story?track=rss
  20. They're still on, PTR. Not sure about the podcast.
  21. OC, since Tim's busy right now, I can answer for him: None. Not his job to program Sportscenter or produce MNF.
  22. Even though my part of the family moved back across the border a long time ago, I'm a direct descendant of a United Empire Loyalist and still have cousins up around Minden. And I'll reserve comment on the Molson consumption.
