  1. Yeah, but then we'd have to attempt to define "honest effort."
  2. As long as we're hijacking this thread ... Copy editors everywhere curse you.
  3. Mmmm. And it's not that far out of the way, either. Add: Okay, since one of my patron saints is a MacGregor, I need to hoist a mug in his honor at this place someday. But $5.99 for a hot dog? Seriously?
  4. Hey, that's right on the way to training camp, too. And I'm liking their draft beer list: http://www.thedistillery.com/drink/distillery_beer.asp Thanks!
  5. It's three right now. Won't go up. I'm still guessing he ends up with two.
  6. http://obits.lancasteronline.com/index.php?p=2356332 Our condolences to the family, Ken.
  7. Probably already been mentioned, but Jon Ogden played LG in his rookie year with the Ravens.
  8. Ummm, wha? Last schoolwork I did was in 1988. (Or maybe a couple of years before that, if you talk to my profs.) Oh, and thanks for the backup, you wiseasses. But on this subject, nothing in this thread comes within light-years of some of the stuff I've seen here. There's more background noise now -- the price of moving from a small town to a medium-sized city -- but we've been ripping the sh-- out of each other ever since the place began. (And some people longer than that -- remember why the HyperBills board crashed and burned?) JMO. (P.S.: You got the "hack" part right, Guff. Never denied that.)
  9. "AVAILABILITY: Leaves warehouse in 4 - 5 weeks." So, essentially a pre-order, although I'm still not sure the Bills will appreciate having their little unveiling party upstaged because everyone already knows what the new shirts look like ... Add: And while I still wish they'd made them closer to the actual '64-65 design, I'll take them as the official road jerseys right now, please and thank you.
  10. (We sell ad space to anyone who wants to get their website noticed).
  11. "Langston, would you like to play left tackle, or would you like us to find someone else who will?"
  12. A picture of the book has now been added to that Web page. But it's just like a gamer -- I don't care if the score is in a cutline, it still needs to be somewhere in the freakin' story.
  13. BREAKING: Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead. [This is a semi-automated response] This subject matter is being currently being discussed or has already been discussed ad nausaem. Please consider using the "search" function before starting new topics. Thank you.
  14. Mr. Graham is probably somewhere between Florida and Ohio ... we've e-mailed, but he hasn't checked in here lately, Pretty sure he did address that recently, though. I'll check. Or maybe it was Wawrow instead? Edit: I found a mention from Wawrow that Lynch had 20 days to file the appeal (and has done so), but I don't think there's anything in the rules that imposes a time limit on Goodell's decision.
  15. Haven't seen it, at least not that I know of. And isn't it nice that they didn't bother to, you know, put the friggin' NAME OF THE BOOK in the copy? (I'm assuming the cover ran as art next to the story.) BTW, if you're interested in Apollo 11, check out this waycool Web site: http://www.wechoosethemoon.com
  16. We do? We have? Obviously, Czar doesn't read this board.
  17. My address at TVfool: the closest tower (and the only station shown on their signal analysis report) is Channel 3, the PBS station out of Penn State -- 50 miles away. "These channels are very weak and will most likely require extreme measures to try and pick them up."WTAJ and WATM out of Altoona are the next closest, 87 miles out. Looking north, nothing except the Christian station out of Orchard Park; 2, 4, and 7, the channels I grew up with before cable, are no longer obtainable. Here's the analysis for Five Mile Road in Ischua, as mentioned in the OTH story: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&...d74fa93c809cd38 Doesn't look very promising, does it?
  18. You realize that anyone on the moderating staff can "win" this whenever we feel like it. Or, of course, we could be bribed ...
  19. But this one isn't. Moving right along ... Add: BTW, nice hed, MSNBC. Might want to fix that.
  20. Moral of the story: Don't test the Fearless Leader's reflexes. Man, I didn't even SEE that thread until it was already closed...
  21. When I put my address into antennaweb.org to check for a digital signal, I got this message: "There are no stations predicted to serve this location." Just like these people a little north of me: Digital TV switch leaves even some tech-savvy residents in the dark
  22. I STRONGLY disagree with the bolded part. Obviously, it would be true for most of the people on this board -- after all, we're here in July, right? But without thinking too hard about it, I can name at least 10 people in my friends/family/coworkers circle who have moved on from watching the NFL, and disliking the players is one of the main reasons I've heard from them.
  23. Ditto, and I'm also not fond of stories like this which run without attribution. Be nice to know exactly who at FoxSports is sharing this opinion, no? For what it's worth, when John Wawrow talked to Perry Fewell, his story (and our conversation regarding same) gave me the impression that any LB action by Maybin would be more about expanding his role than a thought that he couldn't handle DE. http://www.dailymail.com/ap/ApSports/200906090713
