Now addressing the it’s too soon for Devon Levi from some Buffalo Sabres fans it’s nothing more than fear. Don Edwards was the same age with no college experience. Tom Barrasso was 18 years old straight from High School Hockey June to starting opening night for the Buffalo Sabres in October with no college and he won two Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Owen Power was fine without the AHL. The 7th round pick Devon Levi he went to college played his way into a 1st round draft pick as far as I am concerned. If Devon Levi fails he fails it won’t be the first time a player failed in the pros and it won’t be the last time that is on Devon Levi the individual not the Buffalo Sabres. The Buffalo Sabres are a professional hockey team not a babysitter service. Devon Levi got his money and opportunity if he fails he fails there is always someone else that will take the goalie job if he can’t seize the opportunity he has. To the Buffalo Sabres fans you can’t control fate and life it’s impossible. Devon Levi time he believes he is ready and you go with that. Some Buffalo Sabres fans with that AHL hockey position wouldn’t have played Ken Dryden out of Cornell Big Red for the 1971 Montreal Canadians playoffs I am scared let’s play Rogie Vachon instead. Your assumption is that the NFL has all it’s franchises in one whole league like it is? What if the top 10 US populations NFL teams want to go Global instead of Green Bay, Buffalo, Pittsburgh and Cleveland? The Los Angeles and the Dallas owners could do it and there is little Terry Pegula can do about it either meet the minimum standard requirements of NFL Global League or he is out most likely given a buyout like the minor league baseball contractions to take the money than given the choice of running NFL2 domestic league or just folding the Buffalo Bills franchise. The NFL Global League can do that the Buffalo Bills need to meet the requirements like the Buffalo Bisons did or get contracted like the New York Penn League and Batavia Mutdogs went bye, bye. No Federal or Local Government is stopping that. They will huff and puff for political grandstanding but the sports business industry will do what they want and no one is stopping them. Again even Ralph Wilson said that was out of his hands. The Buffalo Bills are here because they are profitable for now and New York State gave the money for a new Buffalo Bills stadium. No owners will is changing that regardless. The seller and NFL both have to be satisfied with a NFL teams sale price. So the NFL owners aren’t going to allow Buffalo to keep the Bills on some lowball offer because of a owners will clause that just isn’t realistic or reality. Stan Kronke just picked up and moved same with Al Davis, same with Bud Adams, same with Robert Issay. It doesn’t matter if a city doesn’t pay the blackmail they are out especially in cities like the size of Buffalo, Cleveland and Pittsburgh. If Austin, Texas grew into Toronto size sure the Buffalo Bills could potentially be moved. I will say this watch out because New York State is completely in the Buffalo Bills house now stadium decisions now not Erie County. Watch YouTube the videos on future skyscrapers being built or planned in the United States and Toronto. The Buffalo Bills are in trouble regardless. Look at Los Angeles, Chicago and New York. We have some Buffalo Bills fans saying Chicago is losing the Chicago Bears it’s too late for Soldiers Field? I would agree for the Bears there gone to the suburbs. But look at Chicago 2030 to 2050 forget the propaganda news politics from both political parties on television. Look at the skyscrapers or as the late Ralph Wilson said about those all those cranes in Toronto. I believe Chicago will get a second NFL team. I also believe New York City might get one maybe two NFL teams. Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay Area will get at least one maybe two NFL teams in the case of Los Angeles. Look at Los Angeles 2050 it looks like New York City skyscrapers. There population will continue to grow Buffalo’s population growth rate isn’t great. Does that look like Buffalo fits in a league like that? Or Cleveland? Or Pittsburgh? Again the NFL is a business they go where the population and money is. I don’t believe Buffalo is out of professional football business but in the Globalization of the NFL we are falling very behind. The Pegula children aren’t going to be able to run the Buffalo Bills against NFL Global teams with huge corporations paying huge dollars for teams. I think the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers will be in major professional leagues but dropped by NFL Global League to small domestic leagues like the NFL itself running it or farmed out to a USFL, XFL and CFL or whoever is open still or not invited into NFL Global League with multiple Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Houston, Miami, San Francisco, Seattle, Detroit, Dallas, Denver, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, Toronto, London, Munich, Mexico City, Tokyo as possible candidates for NFL Global League. Then the rest of the NFL downgraded to domestic leagues or regional leagues the in US and Canada traveling by bus no PSL’s no thrills football. So I guess at least the New Buffalo Bills stadium will be affordable with no PSL’s if that happens potentially for the Bills fans or whatever the downgrade Buffalo football franchise nickname the Buffalo football team is called. Terry Pegula will have no say because the NFL isn’t shutting him or the Buffalo Bills down just the global major US and Canadian cities are running away from domestic NFL for the NFL Global Super League the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns like the Minor League Baseball contractions or forced to Independent baseball like the Batavia Mutdogs because they couldn’t meet minimum requirements to stay in organized affiliate baseball but this time football. Syracuse Orange football has been downgraded. What? No it hasn’t been keep telling yourself that Syracuse football fan your a Group of Five football school economically you aren’t running with Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Penn State, Texas and USC to name a few. What? I will take a minute to appreciate the UB Bulls football teams of 2019 Bahamas Bowl Champions, 2020 Camellia Bowl Champions, 2022 Camellia Bowl Champions. Ok the UB Bulls football team walked off the field of there final game as champions not the bums in the Buffalo Bills uniforms they failed. The Buffalo Bills haven’t accomplished anything since 1965. I am a Josh Allen fan but until he even gets to one Super Bowl he is no Jim Kelly and he lost 4 Super Bowls at the end of the day in the 1990’s. Josh Allen the QB hasn’t won anything. Josh Allen is presently number four on the Buffalo Bills QB’s behind 1960’s Jack Kemp, Daryle Lamonica they both won AFL championships then 1990’s Jim Kelly Four Super Bowl losses and then today 2023 Josh Allen in my opinion. Yes but again we have $1 billion dollar Kennington tunnel to build that is more important than getting UB to the Big Ten Conference like the state of New Jersey did with Rutgers. Cleveland and Pittsburgh are next by the NFL. But the Bills won’t admit they made a mistake when the time comes they will just say the NFL business model changed. Well BSF what is wrong with that? This is such a none issue a Buffalo Bills player can have two homes with the money they make. So Poyer can still live in Florida as his primary residence. My Uncle who was in banking lives on the Texas boarder between Texas and Mexico, Pharr, Texas around the Rio Grand Valley area as his primary residence over Arizona Sun City in Phoenix because of the tax savings in Texas. I doubt many Buffalo Bills are using Buffalo as their primary residence. Terry Pegula calls Florida his primary residence not Buffalo so this was never a real issue in my opinion. Go Bills! Look I can’t stand Syracuse Orange and the Syracuse Chiefs now Mets whatever they will always be the Chiefs the enemy as a Buffalo Big 4 basketball and Buffalo Bisons baseball fan. So to me Syracuse is the enemy sports teams. With that said Syracuse Orange will be fine at least there basketball team will be they draw well so they will be fine. But Syracuse football is MAC level today weather there in the ACC or not your never winning a College Football Championship at Syracuse. Syracuse basketball got hurt by the transition to the ACC with a aging stubborn head basketball coach Jim Boeheim. As along as Syracuse Orange fills the Carrier Dome for basketball they will be fine. But Syracuse is like selling Buffalo against the sunbelt and southwest it’s a heavy lift today. I never thought of Syracuse and as a Buffalonian to go to College. Canisius College I went to for college but that wasn’t my first choice. I was going to go to UCLA in Los Angeles. I was accepted into UCLA but because of overcrowding admissions in the field I was going for I would have had to start college in January and I didn’t want to wait 4 months so I decided to go to Canisius College. That is the problem with all these Western New York and Central New York schools prospective students look for the fun and sun it’s a heavy lift compared to UCLA or Miami or Duke or North Carolina at Syracuse in my opinion. This is a very important subject to me to discuss the decline of Canisius Golden Griffins basketball that should not be happening or ignored because it is easy to pretend and ignore. I get it it’s not hard it is next to impossible to recruit KAC the facility is substandard. Reggie Witherspoon is staying and that is just a joke. Both the Canisius AD Bill Maher and Reggie Witherspoon need to go Canisius College is wasting people’s time with this nonsense. BSF what would you do? I was a Canisius Golden Griffins team manager in the 1980’s so I have been on the inside so this Griffs basketball team is personal with me. This school basketball program was downgraded from when I was there with the KAC move full time which I was against that but I thought don’t say anything see how it will turn out they were selling this as a temporary move until a new basketball on campus arena over 20 years ago. With the retirement of Canisius AD Dr. Daniel Starr who I consider a friend that spelled doom and it isn’t ok. So save it this is not ok. First Canisius College can’t draw at the KAC it was a strange and bad decision. I would play the least amount of non conference home games possible by NCAA rules next season. Then I would play all pay day games against up opponents for my non conference schedule. BSF the Griffs will get crushed? Yes but we are getting crushed now back to back 20 loss season bring in much needed revenue for Griffs basketball. We will get the money games because we are a terrible basketball team so schools from power schools will play us for the easy win. If we get a upset fine if not so be it at this early stage Griffs basketball plan. Once you do that you take the money and slowly faze your way out of KAC back to Key Bank Center with the money from the pay day games. You start with a game or two working your way slowly back to Key Bank Center as many games as you can afford to pay for Key Bank Center for rent which is costly but not impossible. It doesn’t matter if 5 Buffalo fans show up we need Key Bank Center for recruiting. It fixes the big leagues feel, beer, video boards are already at Key Bank Center. We need at some point to have Key Bank Center be our Griffs basketball home again with not generic Big 4 floor or Key Bank Center or Marine Midland Arena our own Griffs floor with the retro Griffins at center court like the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium with Buffalo on the baselines so recruits even know where Canisius College is located. We need to do this slowly because we are looking at last I heard $29,000 a game to rent Key Bank Center it could be more today not sure. We need to use the pay day games to use towards this plan. PSE has Griffs hockey I don’t believe they will pass on the Canisius basketball money to play games at Key Bank Center again. Plus Key Bank Center is going to be renovated at some point Canisius Griffs basketball needs to get back there with the stuff going on at Canalside and they are talking about building a neighborhood there we need to become the Buffalo Bisons like with Canisius Griffs basketball a cheap drinking party night out again to rebuild a Buffalo fan base again. We use to be that. We need to be the main Buffalo City basketball team again and have to emphasize that more. The only actual Division I college basketball team inside the city of Buffalo itself where they actually play all there games today. Again there is no coach in America most likely getting to the NCAA tournament in a 2,000 seat KAC with 500 Griffs fans because Buffalo sports fans is saying no I don’t like that very dry arena. What do you mean BSF? Let’s stop playing games beer. Again Reggie Witherspoon who ever Rick Pitino isn’t winning selling recruits KAC it’s not happening. The Griffs last NCAA tournament appearance was 1996 losing to Keith Van Horn’s Utah Utes the last year at the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium for Griffs basketball. It doesn’t matter if 5 people are at the Key Bank Center we can’t recruit at KAC. Trust BSF slowly move the Griffs basketball back to Key Bank Center and let Providence, Georgetown and Marquette beat us by 30 points in non conference road games it’s better than the Griffs beating a Division 3 Fredonia State that is a disgrace. I agree the Buffalo Sabres were the better team but I hope this is a life lesson for the Buffalo Sabres fans. The Buffalo Sabres were once the New York Rangers. What? The Sabres were once the Rangers challenging for the playoffs every year when I was growing up in the 1970’s and 1980’s as a Buffalo Sabres fan. The tank was the stupidest idea to basically give the Buffalo Sabres a SMU Mustangs football shutdown for recruiting violations and SMU football never really recovered from what it former glory was for a chance at drafting Connor McDavid. The Buffalo Sabres should never tank again it took the Sabres over a decade to get where we were before the Buffalo Sabres tank. Now Buffalo Sabres fans will do anything for 8th place last playoff wildcard how ironic. Before 8th place in the hurt was terrible now it’s the Stanley Cup finals in my opinion. Go Sabres! UB Bulls should hire the guy they should have hired to replace Nate Oats in the first place Bryan Hodgson age 36 currently assistant coach at Alabama who is a Buffalo area guy. So if he succeeds he might stay awhile like the St Bonaventure Bonnies head coach Mark Schmidt. Bryan Hodgson was the lead recruiter for Nate Oats at UB. He should have job over the older mediocre 62 year old Jim Whitesell. Bryan Hodgson has been back to Buffalo to do a lot of charity work and was the coach of the UB Bulls basketball alumni team that won the TBT championship last summer. Now Reggie Witherspoon the Griffs basketball head coach has to go back to back 20 loss seasons I don’t care if the Griffs are playing in a parking lot for a home court it’s hard to go back to back 20 loss season with 30 games scheduled what a incompetent bum. My mother turned 80 years old this year would have a better Griffs head coach basketball record than that. I could put Petey the Griffs mascot on the coaches chair that wouldn’t lose 20 out of 30 back to back completely a failure. Why is this even something to think Canisius College? As a Canisius alum the Griffs basketball decline since I was there in the late 1980’s as a former Griffs team manager hurts more than anyone can imagine. When you are part of a Division I team even as a team manager your a Griff for life so it hurts. It hurts more than any medical challenge I have faced with my muscular dystrophy for 55 years on this earth and I have faced many. It’s bad enough the Griffs basketball don’t play downtown anymore at Key Bank Center and the Griffs basketball program has been downgraded since I was there. The Griffs basketball when I was there this is before the Buffalo Bandits even existed and before UB Bulls went Division I. This Griffs basketball program had former Buffalo Bills GM Bill Polian going to Griffs games at the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium so it was more relevant big time compared to today at the KAC a glorified high school gym. Reggie Witherspoon has turned the Griffs basketball program into a joke. It’s embarrassing and it shouldn’t be happening. The Griffs need to fire this bum in my opinion. Go Bulls! Go Griffs! Terry Pegula should be in prison how much money he is legally stealing from Erie County and New York State. As a Buffalo Bills fan I want a nasty head coach Sean McDermott. I have seen enough two years ago with this community organizer bum. I don’t expect the Buffalo Bills to improve regardless of the free agent signing was QB Patrick Mahomes himself can’t win a Super Bowl overcoming the disadvantage of Sean McDermott as his head coach in my opinion. The Buffalo Sabres were screwed for sure but this crap has gone on for 40 years. The New York Islanders, Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers and Montreal Canadians are getting calls like that. This is what I am saying economically the ESPN’s the networks and the major leagues don’t respect Buffalo economically. That is why our odds of winning a Super Bowl or Stanley Cup championship are long as long as Buffalo is challenged economically the Buffalo Sabres aren’t get respect. You earn respect by money which is economics through population growth and you get population growth with good paying jobs. Buffalo doesn’t mean crap for the NFL or the NHL anymore that is reality. That was a screw job tonight no doubt about it. Buffalo deserves what we got stop doing business as usual maybe than the rest of the country will respect this city. The Tennessee Titans are shopping Derrick Henry because he has a lot of wear on him this is like the Buffalo Bills shopping O.J. Simpson at the end of his career with a lot of wear on him to the San Francisco 49ers at least Ralph Wilson got that one right. But he should of traded O.J. Do you really believe Joe Ferguson I mean Daniel Jones is winning a Super Bowl? This is a panic move by a New York Giants team doubling down because they failed to take Josh Allen. The New York Football Giants are going back to the 1970’s days of failure. I will give them at least they won some Super Bowls which helps you never can take that away from them but the Giants are going towards hard times just like the New England Patriots.
