The bottom line if this 2023 UB Bulls team isn’t MAC bowling that sets UB Bulls back big time because that is a whole another month of practice lost. If they don’t make a bowl there is nothing you can do with Maurice Linquist because of the length still on his contract but I would fire both the UB offensive and defensive coordinators 0-4 is ridiculous and unacceptable in my opinion. The Akron Zips UB has matched up well against in MAC football over the years. If UB gets trashed by Akron Zips all bets are off the bottom UB football could be potentially looking at. UB is in a tough spot because they can’t fire Maurice Linquist because of the term still on his contract. But UB could force Maurice Linquist to make staff changes at the end of the season. First yes Key Bank Center is viable staying open without the Buffalo Sabres. The Buffalo Bandits wouldn’t be moved because they aren’t as viable in a Houston and Atlanta already has a NLL team. If hypothetically dooms day the Buffalo Sabres moved which I don’t think is happening but hypothetically if they left. Buffalo would retain the Buffalo Bandits and a new Buffalo AHL team most like the Toronto Maple Leafs farm team Toronto Marlies AHL team potentially renamed would be moved to Buffalo. Since Buffalo was downgraded hockey wise Buffalo NBA G League could potentially also place a franchise here potentially the Toronto Raptors G League franchise because they would make potentially more money in Buffalo like the Buffalo Bisons/Toronto Blue Jays set up. So basically I believe Toronto teams would be interested as Buffalo as a farm team. Why? Because in the case of the NBA G League most of the players are American one and two Buffalo housing is cheaper than Ontario housing. The chances for the Toronto teams to expand there base would make Buffalo viable. Is it perfect no but it is viable. Then you can fill out Key Bank Center with concerts, shows and possibly arena/indoor football etc. So yes Key Bank Center is viable. BSF what proof? The Buffalo Braves NBA as a guide when they moved out of Buffalo in 1978 we got two teams in 1979 the Buffalo Bisons EL double a baseball and Buffalo Stallions MISL indoor soccer. One major league franchise is good for two minor league ones it seems. Someone’s trash is another person’s treasure but Buffalo is very viable as a minor league sports market and I believe Toronto would pounce on that. Who ever ran the First Niagara Center would make the necessary renovations for the minor league sports teams coming. So basically you have the Buffalo Swords AHL close enough since you can’t use the Buffalo Sabres or Buffalo Stampede potential names and Buffalo Braves NBA G League as the tenants replacing the Buffalo Sabres potentially. Would Buffalo fans be angry and stay away? Yes but overtime people want to have a good time for the evening and will go to the Buffalo minor league games. Some Buffalo Sabres fans will never go and say it’s a disgrace whatever. I think hockey wise this sucks I get it but basketball wise not bad to see the Buffalo Braves as a NBA G League team they could potentially use the name Buffalo Wings. With all that said I don’t think the Buffalo Sabres are moving but I think they are being sold the time line so far is playing out. I doubt investors are buying a piece they want the whole Buffalo Sabres team without the meddling Terry Pegula anymore involved. Also if this happens the new owners of the Buffalo Sabres may not retain the present general manager Kevyn Adams or head coach Don Granato when they have full control of the Buffalo Sabres. Also those upgrades are minor like in the Buffalo News Sunday like scoreboard and roof. The Buffalo News article said that more are going to be needed. The entire seating bowl needs to be replaced that is $500 million dollars range stuff we are talking about in today’s dollars. It will get done but with new Buffalo Sabres owners. Optics of new Buffalo Sabres owners will be easier for New York State to help without the same owners benefitting. I think Terry Pegula is going to do the right thing and sell the Buffalo Sabres to a group of local and outside Buffalo business leaders that will be able to navigate New York State for money for Key Bank Center renovations. The only negative with all this is for the Rochester fans. I don’t see the Buffalo Sabres/Buffalo Bandits new owners wanting the Rochester Americans nor the Rochester Knighthawks so they are in limbo potentially? Maybe Terry Pegula keeps the two Rochester teams to run which is possible. Because the Buffalo Sabres ownership isn’t going to want another lacrosse team nor a Rochester Americans team with another arena to run that is also outdated. There all poor today for the most part I don’t listen to any of them because I am old. I know what I see on the field. If I don’t know what I see on the field after almost 50 years watching Buffalo sports in this Buffalo market I mind as well stop watching sports. Exactly with Sean McDermott but I think if the Buffalo Bills decide to move on from Sean McDermott Ken Dorsey will be the potential Buffalo Bills replacement head coach because Terry Pegula foolishly extended Sean McDermott. So the Buffalo Bills aren’t eating that kind of money with Highmark Stadium 2 over runs it’s not happening. I expect 12-5 this season for the Buffalo Bills but unfortunately losing to the Kansas City Chiefs again with Sean McDermott not having this football team prepared unfortunately. I hope I am wrong. Just remember the Buffalo Bills aren’t spending a lot of money until the new stadium is opened producing revenues for PSE. The Buffalo Bills got there Stadium until it’s opens there is no incentive for PSE to spend unfortunately because they have cash problems according to John Warrow of AP News. John Warrow was on WGRZ channel 2 Town Hall talking about potential cuts to both the Buffalo Sabres and even the NLL champions Buffalo Bandits. And some Buffalo fans don’t understand why I don’t like Terry Pegula and am critical of him and PSE stuff like that is why. I shouldn’t be hearing about PSE money problems that isn’t normal owners who have stuff together don’t do that. I saw that good luck to UB Bulls quarterback Cole Snyder but he is very limited as a quarterback. It’s disappointing that UB Bulls football program still haven’t brought in a quarterback that can run better and is more athletic. It’s going to cost us the MAC East again most likely because UB Bulls don’t get it with a duel threat run pass quarterback like Rourke at Ohio Bobcats we aren’t winning. UB Bulls are like the rest of the NFL AFC East teams that don’t have Josh Allen. Again if you can’t run like a running back with your quarterback you are not winning the MAC championship. Coach after coach at UB with the exception of Turner Gill don’t get it. It’s embarrassing Turner Gill got it with way less facilities than what UB Bulls football coaches have to sell to student athletes now. Turner Gill was smart he used Zack Maynard to come in to run the wildcat. Cole Snyder runs like he is carrying a piano on his back. This UB Bulls coaching staff doesn’t get it. I am concerned about the new UB Bulls offensive coordinator DJ Mangas who is 34 years old a high school coach and never was a FBS college offensive coordinator before other than a short time at 28 years old at William and Mary what is it with Buffalo football teams and William and Mary football. Which could be good or could be bad we will see? But just because it worked out for Nate Oats for UB Bulls basketball doesn’t mean it will always work. I agree that UB OC Shane Montgomery had to go because of his conservative play and offensive philosophy from another time but I am not sure a high school coach with limited offensive coordinator experience was the way to go. I don’t like the William and Mary connection either Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott is a terrible leader and is very challenged as a head coach in my opinion. But UB Bulls head coach Maurice Linquist doesn’t get anymore passes now in year three if he can’t win the MAC championship in Detroit this season he needs to be fired as a head coach for failure. UB Bulls would be wise to move on with a new head coach regardless of the Camellia Bowl victory last season. I personally don’t see UB Bulls beating Ohio Bobcats this season. UB Bulls will probably play above there ceiling against Wisconsin Badgers than lose to some lowly FBS team they should have beaten. That sums up the Maurice Linquist era at UB Bulls which is disappointing other than Camellia Bowl victory it’s mediocre at best for Maurice Linquist. Maurice Linquist won the Camellia Bowl I get that which was great. But was it Maurice Linquist the head coach or the UB donors investment in MAC football at UB? I will go with the UB donors investment in MAC football for winning the Camellia Bowl over anything great that Maurice Linquist has done or brought to the table for UB Bulls football. Maurice Linquist has cultural advantages coaching at UB over the other MAC schools it’s ridiculous these UB coaches should be winning. I would clean house everyone gets fired if UB Bulls lose in football, men’s and women’s basketball head coaches go. I have seen enough of the UB Bulls women’s basketball program run into the ground that Felisha Jack built after she left for Syracuse Orange ridiculous. It’s time to fire UB athletic director Mark Alnutt if UB Bulls don’t start winning MAC championships in football, men’s and women’s basketball. You can win at UB athletics now because of the facilities. Again hopefully Maurice Linquist wins but I have my doubts on Maurice Linquist being anything more than winning enough to not get fired but most likely never winning the MAC championship because he doesn’t get the offensive part of the game as a defensive coaching background like a Lance Leipold who was a quarterback coming from a offensive coaching background. Whenever there is ever a new Buffalo Bisons baseball park built in the future it will be smaller than current Sahlen’s Field with 10,000 or less seats in a potential mini retractable dome to drive more minor league baseball revenue for Buffalo Bisons games played in April, May and September for MLB’s cut of the MILB team’s revenue. It won’t be Bob Rich’s call it be MLB mandated that overtime will force it on the minor league affiliates or you are out of organized affiliate baseball regardless of how rich our owners are. They have to follow the mandates of these leagues like nets all the way around Sahlen’s Field for fans safety. That is where this is all heading now that MILB teams have been taken over by MLB owners. The Buffalo Bills open air stadium same deal at some point the NFL owners will say dome the new Buffalo Bills stadium or you are out of the NFL it’s not hard to figure out where this is all heading these leagues want more revenue and to control what they can like cold fans not coming to games? I get what you are saying but this new Buffalo Bills stadium needs to produce more revenue than the old Buffalo Bills stadium. The Buffalo Bills are asking a lot with no dome for the new type of Bills fan they are going to need to attract for the higher ticket prices. Buffalo Bills business as usual isn’t going to bring in higher revenue. It’s a different business model which relies on a Toronto Blue Jay, New York Yankees team scale over a Buffalo Bisons team scale as a example. The Buffalo Bills now at Highmark Stadium 1 are a Buffalo Bisons scale of the NFL at Highmark Stadium 1 just football. The Buffalo Bills are reaching from what I see. I don’t see any history of football in the Buffalo Bills new stadium. The video board where is it? The new potential scoreboard is underwhelming my television is better than the proposed Highmark Stadium 2 video board that’s a potential problem? Where is all the retired Buffalo Bills numbers and championships banners going? It looks like it is anything but football but I don’t know what it is the Buffalo Bills are reaching for. No real Buffalo Bills history at all with those renderings and the Buffalo Bills will regret it potentially after the Josh Allen years if what we saw now is it. I don’t see how that flies in Buffalo which is a traditional market. The Buffalo Bills are marketing it like the Buffalo Bills have just awarded a NFL expansion franchise like there history just started in 2026 it’s strange. Just freeze baby with some “Miami Vice” neon lightning. It’s not impressive it’s embarrassing for the money being spent it should look like Green Bay Packers Packer land at the least and it doesn’t. Yes Buffalo Bills fans should be concerned it looks like First Niagara Center 200 level yikes and we see how that is working. The Buffalo Bills should have a area underneath with the Highmark Stadium concert history from the Rolling Stones, The Who to the Jackson 5 at the Highmark Stadium 2. Highmark Stadium 2 has to be a showcase for huge Buffalo entertainment gatherings and it isn’t really mentioned at all in the renderings shortsighted and a big failure on PSE end. I will add because this Western New York area leaders are so poor with planning and development we have to be on our knees to PSE that basically is what has happened. The only way we get off our knees in the future is planning projects without PSE involvement. The Buffalo Bills are going to do what they are going to do good or bad whatever what is done is done. As a Buffalo community we need to figure out how to get UB Bulls football there own 25,000 seats football stadium over looking the Buffalo Waterfront that the Buffalo Bills passed on. Build a horse shoe style college football stadium 25,000 seats expandable if need be in the future. With the open end overlooking our Buffalo Waterfront. Build on the Buffalo Outer Harbor where there is plenty of open and cheap land looking for development. So you aren’t looking at residents being effected at all so there will be few problems or lawsuits. The Buffalo Waterfront Stadium can be used for the Buffalo Bulls football team, summer concerts and events at the Buffalo Waterfront in the summer. Traffic won’t be a problem with 25,000 seats for the Buffalo Bills fan terrified about traffic. The cost won’t be high because of the smaller scale of a college football stadium. Push for outer harbor development without the Buffalo Bills let the Bills just be in Orchard Park since that is what they wanted. PSE leaders are dumber than a Pet Rock in my own opinion. The Western New York community needs to move forward with a Buffalo Waterfront Stadium for UB Bulls without the Buffalo Bills and PSE involvement at all. Can we do that Buffalo Super Fan? Yes we can do that the world doesn’t evolve around PSE even though some think it does it doesn’t. Yes it is going to take awhile but that is what needs to be done to start having some progress in our Buffalo Waterfront area. As Buffalo fans know I want more amusement rides and board walks built down there at Canalside with more development forget about the Buffalo Bills there not interested. You can’t be a growing big city without a major university in the heart of the city being a driver it can’t be done. That is why Buffalo needs to get this Buffalo Waterfront Stadium built for UB Bulls football it makes UB more visible downtown where eventually they need most of the UB campus to be over decades of time to correct that mistake. What Buffalo Super Fan? Building UB North Campus in Amherst over Buffalo was a major mistake. I live in Amherst UB for the best opportunity for growth in Buffalo needs to be in the city. But that means it is a further drive for you and not in your best interest Buffalo Super Fan? It’s called sacrifice and doing what is best for the overall Western New York economic development. It’s not about what is best for me it is what is best for the Western New York community. Buying a NFL isn’t a bad investment because it can be moved. I question those values for the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo. The only way a Bills owner gets that kind of value is moving the team New York City which I think the Bills team is heading after the 30 year lease is up unless Western New York economic development and fortunes change in the next 30 years. I am all over the place my mind is open to anything except where the Buffalo Bills end up Orchard Park in a toilet bowl stadium with few bells and whistles for a lot of money to attend games with limited usage other than the Buffalo Bills games for almost $2 billion while everyone else’s new stadiums are better even some renovated college stadiums are better than the new Buffalo Bills stadium what a joke. The new Bills stadium isn’t designed well at all. We would have been better building the Washington Huskies Stadium horse shoe stadium on the Buffalo outer harbor with boat access like the Washington Huskies have in Seattle than this crap stadium in Orchard Park with no views and no great scoreboard anyone catch that the new Bills stadium scoreboard sucks. Western New York would have been better building on the outer harbor with Waterfront views that both the Buffalo Bills and UB Bulls could use but we live in the land of idiots. Where you want to go for the Buffalo Waterfront Stadium view regardless of the teams records because there is a 50 percent chance that the Buffalo Bills are going to suck again once Josh Allen moves on. Go on YouTube look at Washington Huskies Stadium I would rather have that than this crappy Orchard Park Stadium with nothing really exciting why bother just stay at the old one because it’s pretty obvious PSE never wanted a new stadium. It’s being forced and PSE is putting minimum effort in this regardless of the reality television videos on YouTube of the New Bills stadium. I would fire populous there design sucks for Buffalo terrible. The problem is Western New York doesn’t get it and never will so we end here with crap overpriced stadium because too many Buffalo Bills fans are terrified that the Buffalo Bills are going to move so just accept any crap that PSE wants. I have no comment on Ron Raccuia. As for PSE when it comes to the new Bills stadium nothing I say is going to matter when it comes to the new Buffalo Bills stadium. Seeing is going to be when Buffalo Bills fans like myself and others vocal critics of the new Buffalo Bills stadium will be proven right about our current ownership PSE and our Western New York representatives. Time isn’t going to reflect well on PSE ownership or our Western New York representatives. Again I agree we need a new Buffalo Bills stadium. Where I disagree is middling the new Buffalo Bills stadium and not putting real events in the new Buffalo Bills stadium. Barbie and Ken Bills fan getting married in the new Buffalo Bills stadium isn’t a real event for the Bills stadium it’s ridiculous is what it is. Real tenants like a Buffalo MLS team or a Buffalo WNBA team for Key Bank Center not garbage junk that doesn’t make Western New York quality of life better. Better for Barbie and Ken yes but that’s about it. Sadly we don’t have enough Buffalo fans speak up and unfortunately they will speak up but when it’s too late. MLS ever expands to Pittsburgh and Cleveland it’s like MLB baseball in Buffalo all over. Same if WNBA goes to Toronto it’s all over for Buffalo WNBA ever. We need a Western New York sports commissions that is volunteer group of people to lobby for Western New York behalf when it comes to sports. We don’t do that while other areas do. Miami just got a MLR rugby franchise the Miami Sharks. Buffalo can’t even get a Buffalo MLR rugby franchise. Only stubborn people that are in total denial about Western New York will say ban Buffalo fans from telling the truth about our representatives how Western New York is getting screwed with no real betterment in the future because of poor leadership. We have some Bills fans that are in fantasy land if they think middling the new Bills stadium is going to keep the Bills tickets prices down it won’t. My point has always been Buffalo Western New York should have nice things not middling it. Again with this stadium we should have had a Buffalo MLS team with the new stadium. Why? Why because there is no MLB baseball in Buffalo. There is no MLS in Cleveland or Pittsburgh. Buffalo MLS would have a huge territory to draw soccer fans from that aren’t served by MLS now. This whole new stadium situation is a giant missed opportunity for Western New York. I want to hear the Buffalo Bills fans excuses why Buffalo couldn’t support MLS or MLR in a new Bills stadium with a open area from Pittsburgh to Cleveland to Rochester and Syracuse? You can’t explain away with excuses except a cheap PSE ownership with Western New York representatives not demanding better for Western New York. This is a Western New York area that once got two major league teams in a year in 1970 NHL Buffalo Sabres and NBA Buffalo Braves. Today Western New York can’t even get MLS soccer team in a state of the art soccer stadium with a huge open territory with no major league sports teams in the summer in Buffalo. We don’t even try for MLS in Buffalo we get what we voted for representatives wise and accept middling junk from PSE. For the money taxpayers put up the Benefits Agreement should have been Buffalo MLS from PSE. We don’t even get WNBA expansion for Key Bank Center PSE is a disgrace. No Buffalo MLR rugby franchise but Miami with tons of teams that aren’t supported very well just got another new Miami franchise. Yet all I hear is Western New York is happening how? I want to hear our Buffalo Bills experts that think I am totally wrong expand why Western New York can’t afford a Buffalo MLR rugby franchise and how PSE is the best owners ever to have total control of both our major league buildings Highmark Stadium 2 and Key Bank Center with nothing in it besides the Buffalo Bills, Sabres and Bandits? I am on record PSE are terrible owners and so are our Western New York representatives neither that are forward thinking for Western New York while Miami gets more and more every year. No Buffalo Bills red helmets for 2023. I am not surprised the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres aren’t run in a first class way like the Buffalo Bisons as an example. PSE has been trouble for 12 plus years nothing but controversy and missteps bumbling along yearly begging for public funds yet can’t give the Buffalo Bills fans a red helmet clueless ownership. Meanwhile the Buffalo Bisons upgraded there stadium privately and they have great new fun things for the Buffalo Bisons fans. Look at the Buffalo Bisons all kinds of uniforms and hats that are focused on our Western New York community and heritage than look at the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres low hanging fruit sell the teams PSE. There is no defending this no excuse just made up crap from a lazy out of touch organization and owner. The Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres are nothing more than a rich guys tax write off sell the teams PSE in my opinion. Go Bisons! Go Bills! Go Sabres! Let’s Go Buffalo
