  1. Georgie I love the idea, but since we can only do it twice throughout the year without exposing him to waivers I would rather wait for a more concerning WR core further on into the season.
  2. @Hapless Bills Fan Very respectfully I disagree. FL my disagreement has nothing to do with any current disputes between competing political agendas we currently see in society, but rather the current legal standard we use in the city and community, in general, regarding business oriented property, but more specifically the parking areas for the same. In short, you really do have to post signage, and that is for simple trespass, let alone arresting somebody (but I would hope the arresting more so applies to actually trying to enter the stadium). Obviously there is a different standard for personal residences. However, this is a commercial/business entity with vast parking areas. You’d have to post initially that they are not allowed to park or trespass. If I have commercial property in the city I can’t have you car towed for being on my property without giving you proper notice and just having someone say it on the news doesn’t rise to the level of notice concerning the property...I am not even going to get into the topic of arresting someone. For actual being in the parking lot, though, you need to post in multiple areas on the property. Now, should people be going? Hell no. However, I am not going to finish this by saying “just saying”, because there is a little bit more responsibility on authority’s part and commercial property owners by giving requisite notice before taking such extreme actions.
  3. Albany I honestly thought this for a moment, too. For some it really is an at risk health issue and keep in mind it is still early as we are 1/256th through the regular season. ...man, though...
  4. ... ... ... ...it's just... ... ...Mahomes is very good at the playing of the football.
  5. Absolutely never thought about that. Thank you, Nextmanup. I will consider it.
  6. One of my best friends from school in the early 90s was a huge Jets fan. An almost annoying "J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets" fan. There were four of us; one from New York (Pete), one from Miami and one from Detroit. Football debates were a-plenty, but it was the tale end of the Super Bowl years so I was very comfortable in making the case for the Bills. "You guys rebuild, the Bills reload.", was a frequent retort. After school ended we each went back to our respective homes and stayed in contact, but never as much as we should. I was glad to say that I was at each of their weddings which were truly blessed times. Pete called m in April to let me know that he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer back in January. He had kept it very quiet. I was the first of our friends to know. During this same conversation he let me know that given the medical lock down as it was in New York City treatment, or at least the treatment and care he was looking for, which included the presence of his wife during this anxious time for him, could not be had. He knew what the unfortunate writing on the wall was and wanted to finish out the time with his family. In our last conversation he wanted me to know that he loved me very much, and that I should let the guys know he loved them, as well. I returned the sentiment, sheepishly and inefficiently because...well...you know...it's never enough...words, I mean. I was careful in my discretion afterwards in checking up on Pete, out of respect for his wishes. His lovely wife called late in June to let me know that after having to briefly be resubmitted to the hospital due to complications my friend. My good friend. My brother, had passed on. I won't forget the final story as told by one of Pete's children during his funeral eulogy that earlier that month when their priest had stopped by to ask Pete if it was OK to do last rights Pete had said, "Well, I was baptized, received first communion, confirmed, and married all in the church so I might as well run the table on this!" That's Pete. That's so Pete...the guy could make you laugh on his final bed. I told our group of friends in a text last month that I want to talk Bills/Jets football, but my guy is gone and I don't have anyone to talk to about them. In retrospect I believe that post was a lie...I just wanted to talk to me friend. The good thing is, though, I do still talk to him and I do still hear him. He was 51, with a beautiful wife and four wonderful children, and he will forever be my friend. So please forgive this Bills fan on Sunday, because among a group of friends and family at an outdoor Bills kickoff party "J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets!" will be howled from my pipes at least once. ...but don't you dare expect this will be a regular thing, Pete...I can hear you laughing at me already and telling me I've finally come to my senses. And thank you for being a great friend...a great everything, really.
  7. It won’t be here and it will be 5 years, no less than 50 million, with 25 million guaranteed. could go as high as 12 million per. Respectfully, I don’t know who or what some of you have been watching to think at this stage he will be under double digit millions per year. LT is important and I like Dion but he is slightLy above average and got 15 million. 12 million doesn’t even get Milano in the top 10. 10 million per seems about right.
  8. No...you're missing the point. You have multiple viewing angles...maybe 4-6 in Madden. In 2k5 you literally could adjust the view, virtually like a projector keystone. You also could then zoom in or out and save it as your camera setting. It was an almost infinite camera adjustment. Note: You didn't miss any point, Buf. I realized I should have done a better job explaining it. That is on me. And I believe in 2k5 the button presses for receiver adjustments were 1 or 2 less, depending. I would highlight the WR and then set him on his route. That was it. I could also just highlight him and move him on the line, no matter what. Madden locks you in a lot of the time with the receiver's position on the line. Very respectfully, B716, you may have missed the part where I stated I have Madden 21 and I have played it. I also have been playing it since the 90s. They have added things, but the game, especially Franchise, suffers quite a bit. I will still play it and I will still enjoy it. It is just that it could be better...that's nothing new and obviously very easy to say wit anything. ..the problem is it SHOULD be better. A lot better. Peace.
  9. Warcodered, how awesome was it to follow the ball in the air on passing plays in 2k5? How fantastically great was it to set your own viewing angle? How much did the announcer dialogue just plain seem real? How easy and great was it to shift your receivers, or audible, in general? I should pull it out as I have it in my basement some where and I have an old 360 (Xbox original game, but you could play it on the 360...hell, I have an original Xbox, as well...I really need to throw stuff out).
  10. Same game for me, H2o...the Sega Genesis...I saw those same ambulances!! 🤣 I fiddled with the MUT stuff/challenges, but brother...I mean...it's like I am the old person with "12:00" blinking on my VCR* One other note I was going to start a Madden thread a few days ago and I still might. There really might be just of few of us who would like to comment on the game and especially the Bills in it. Hell, I would mind reading about what some of you did against the team in the coming weeks game. * VCR stands for Video Cassette Recorder. It was an electronics device that some of the older TSW members used to watch movies by going to a video store**, renting a movie (or a game), and going back home to watch (or play) it. The images could be seen by flickering light over the spooled tape in the video cassette. The best movies were usually sold out by 2 pm on any given Friday, but the good thing is if you went to the back of the store they always had a couple of copies of Army of Darkness so you cold get your boom stick on, with a little bit of sugar, Baby, which was always good. ** Blockbuster, Video Factory...everywhere, then. Nowhere now. Except for one BB.
  11. @H2o @Royale with Cheese Royale, I am an old man and I still play. I prefer it to fantasy football. No offense at all to fantasy, but FF gets in the way of my enjoyment on Sunday, while Madden lets me take part ad actually control something. My experience goes back to the 90s...I am simply a casual player who usually loses interests, generally, when the Bills go down for the season. I am also one of the 2K guys that curses the day that Madden won the football derby (2005, I believe, when they became the only game in town). I also have been watching the Youtube reviews from some of the more active Madden Youtubers. Is it bad compared to years past? Well, let's just say they didn't make many improvements and the game has its problems. Should there be two teams over at EA Tiberon working on this game, with one team producing a game every two years? Yes, but who the hell is going to listen to me on that one? Should there be more than one company making NFL games? So very yes and the NFL is going to have to get over itself on this one. Competition is a good thing and the vanguard of what these games used to give us can simply be summed up in ESPN NFL 2k5 and Madden 05...the last, and best year there were two. That said, after nearly 17 years of purchases, and my first purchase coming in '93, how can I help but get this game when I see an overall rating for the Bills at 83 (highest I've seen since my first purchase in 93) and the Pats at 79?! It's like Cocaine...or really good pasta, take your pick.
  12. @NoHuddleKelly12 @ScottLaw Man, we really do have 5 lose-able games on this schedule (Tennessee, KC, San Fran, Pittsburgh, Seattle) let alone the other competition during the season and hopefully avoidable "bumps" in the schedule. The long and the short of it is we will likely need to win about two of the above. Yes, I would love more, but we really do need at least two. I love this team going into the season, I really do. However, they do have a lot of work to do.
  13. I do hear you, brother bandit...oh man...I feel like a kid again waiting for the season to start. i love this and I am enjoying the preamble to the season...every moment. go bills!
  14. I promise you bandit, a win is a win through 16 games virtually guarantees getting up by double digits in the playoffs and losing the game By the final tick of the clock. Regardless of the talent level one of the problems with this team under McDermitt has been when you have a snake underfoot you have to also know how to bash its head in or he’ll come back to bite you. It’s something that they just don’t put into these guys with “The Process”, with all due respect to McDermitt and company. The team is obviously better this year so I expect much more. However, that’s why eeking out victories against the Dolphins and the bengals last year was going to be folly and easy pickings for teams of playoff caliber when they met the Bills. It’s the truth with respect to last year‘s team, it is what it is. Or rather hopefully, it was what it was.
  15. Yeah, overall I think we have to start getting past “a win is a win” thing. This can’t be 17-16, with Bass hitting his first walk off game winner. They have to start setting the standard. 27-10 would be reasonably appropriate.
  16. 1966 is on the phone and he wants to remind you about Namath’s fur coat and white shoes.
  17. ridge, I swear I didn’t know whether to laugh or give it a trophy! well done!
  18. slightly tangential to this thread...I love the NFL and they way people have such varying opinions with little information for the upcoming year. A: “Singletary, coming off of a strong rookie campaign, is primed with the eye of the tiger and ready to take the next step in year two.” B: “Singletary is a dumpster fire with fumbly-wumbly hands. What were the Bills thinking?!” There is no reason to think he won’t progress, unless he sees limited time if Moss outplays him. Even then I believe he still will have better stats this year. edit: I could honestly see one back going for 900 and the other going for 600.
  19. Come on, BF. At least he is fun at Christmas parties...or after.
  20. Thank you, Nelius. Man o man, why isn’t the first thing that comes up on this guy the “fact” that he is a complete d**k? ...and this isn’t just from the major media bleeps and bloops since before the draft. This is from others. Please, this also isn’t about his politics. If I didn’t want a douche as a starter and how this team wouldn’t react well to his “leadership”, why would I want him as a back up?
  21. They are in the neighborhood of 90 million over the cap floor For 2021...yeah, at some point this team needs to move people.
  22. May both of you live to be a thousand years old and bed many women. ...if that’s your thing. I just want you to be happy.
  23. It’s the sole reason why you haven’t seen the Bills sign me in the last 20 years. ...that I am talent challenged.
