Why do we do this? Every year with this nonsense. Please, please make it stop. -
Thank you, Unbill! I knew it was a joke and callback when @Johnny Hammersticks , but then saw that it had a life of its own in the thread and I just wanted to let the folks who didn't know what this was really about. I didn't want anyone to think Johnny couldn't do the math!

@BarleyNY Everyone, I believe the original post about the Bezos money was just a joke. It was a play on last year's election comment by Brian Williams and another reporter on that network stating (if memory serves) that every American could be given a million dollars instead of the government assistance program. A big deal or rather more so a subtle joke by both sides of the political spectrum was made out of the gaffaw by everybody after it happened.

No, no, no, though Ex. That is the beauty of it. HE DIDN'T BELIEVE ME! We dodged a bullet with that one. Now, about that going back to tell Saint Louis to draft Brady in the fifth round.

interesting, Blitz. I am willing to listen. although I did use the valuation of the dollar, based upon inflation. if you feel like it I’d be glad to see it. My goodness, Gugny, using inflation from 1994, how many people did he kill in 2021 terms?!

The value of a Jim’s contract today is $18 million. The value of today’s Josh contract, if you were to do it back in 1986, would be $104 million dollars, even back then.

$.86 a gallon.

Yes, in short. 1. Have the franchise QB. 2. Ask for the Public to build the stadium. 3. Sign the franchise QB to show you mean business.

My mind was blown just doing the calculations earlier today, Beast. Your practical approach-Star Trek sort of analogy just made bile come out of my eye sockets. That is a crazy comparison. Unreal.

NFL Owners: Ranked worst to first

Are they still that high today if they had picked the other Josh? -
That is the 2021 value of Jim Kelly’s NFL record setting 1986 7.5 million dollar contract when he first came to the Bills. Crazy, huh? We are not even talking about an inflationary change, but rather exponential change in the value of a product over time that just could not have been foreseen. if I could go back in time, and meet up with Jim Kelly before he signed that deal in 1986, I would be like… “Jim, good tidings. I am here from the future to guide you on your contract.” Jim: “Why are you wearing a sparkling coat, weird tie and crazy sunglasses?” Me: “I am trying to channel my inner Rufus from the movie Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure.” Jim: “What movie is that?” keep up because you are a moron if you don’t know by now who is talking in this back and forth: “We really don’t have time for this right now and I should have thought about it further…like maybe a long scarf and oversized fedora and coming out of a police Bobby box. You need to ask for more money. A lot more.” ”How much?” ”whoa, I mean given the 2021 value of the league and tv contracts going into the future, the value of the deal a young man you will meet in the future but who hasn’t even been born yet is going to be worth, in your dollars…a little north of $104,000,000.” ”…middle-aged bald slightly heavy set man, I am going to drink my can of Teem, finish my fondu for lunch and then I am going to kick your ass if you don’t leave here right now.” At which time I will go see my parents from afar, who were still alive at the time and try and find away to warn them about cancer and leukemia…let’s be honest that should probably be my first stop. All that aside..whew, the times they are a changin’, amirite?

List of Bills QBs during the Desolation
dollars 2 donuts replied to foreboding's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nicely said, Guns. A man who is among the top QBs in this Franchise's history (8th in TD passes and yards thrown...30 games, mind you, and highest career winning percentage for any Bills QB starting at least 16 games) deserves to be around a bit more and get a bit more praise. -

You know for all the BS back and forth during the period of "Flute-Johnson?", Doug was 21-9 as the starter for this team. Man, you just can't shake a stick at that, really. I know he has talked more recently about the Bills, but I just wish that relationship, between him and the franchise, was a little bit closer. I know he is a Boston guy, and I know what he did in the CFL, but his greatest NFL success was with us. -

You know what 716, back to the original topic on hand I guess my problem is, and believe me I know it goes by star player ratings, but this Buffalo team is as good or better than the team that went 13-3, arguably tied for 2nd overall in the League. That's what's annoying. Cleveland can be good and Dallas can be good, but man they should not necessarily be breathing our air right now. Buffalo, in its entire madden history was usually scored consistent with what they did the year before. No projection at all. I know the conversation would never go like this and this is an oversimplification, but I can't imagine it would go in the drawing board room at EA like, "The BIlls were an 83 last year, but whoa nelly, look out for them this year...90!" ...but apparently this happens easily with other teams. -

New Era, you're making it sound like destroying all competition has made this sim game worse...that can't be true. ...just not a smart move by the league. How great it might still be if there were two options.
