  1. To be honest with you, SD, you are right on about that. God bless children, they are a gift, but come on. It did not have to come to this, because he is not just wrecking his life now, he is wrecking the life of innocent children. What a dill weed.
  2. EZC, you absolutely made my day. Thank you.
  3. And I mean that sincerely. I am not knocking the Bills for not signing him and I am not knocking him for leaving. He's a good guy and good player who made it in a league he almost wasn't supposed to be in and sometime over the next day or so he is going to cash in. So good luck and congratulations.
  4. Tremendous, Bagel. Thank you.
  5. Sorry, UBT, I did not even read your post. I did not have to...I hate the cover 2 defense, so I am right there with you. I know personnel is important but holy makerol I am done with this Tampa 2, just go back to the 3-4 and enough already.
  6. arkady, you are right. I brain farted. sorry. Corrected.
  7. Me too. ...formative years and it is burned into our minds.
  8. Ask a silly question get an answer that's...well, really...kinda dead on.
  9. The Bills are playing the Dolphins this weekend. Madden 09 is the most recent edition of a popular series. So they simulated this weekends game. hmmm, I'll stick with what I said. EDIT: A simulated game means there are not actually players going against each other. The CPU takes over for playing both sides. The term in the game is, or the option that comes up is "do you want to sim the game?"
  10. I really like Madden 09; and the Bills were a great team to use, even upon the release of the game (regardless of being an 82, you had a good runner, good receiver, and a stout defense). However, I want to comeback to reality in looking at the numbers from the sim game. Do we REALLY think Edwards is going to go 16-26 against the Dolphins defense...in nice weather? Do we REALLY think that Pennington, against a top 10 defense, is going to light them up for 23-29? Yeah, sorry, I am just not going to worry about this sim.
  11. We so badly needed this. Thank you finsfan.
  12. Why, cpa, why? I had forgotten all about that and it really could have just stayed in the haze of my memory. Why did you bring it up?
  13. I'm with ya and I hear ya, chazz. BTW, I remember that being the "Year of 11-5" San Diego 11-5, Buffalo 11-5, Cleveland 11-5, Oakland 11-5 and I think even Houston...you guessed it, was 11-5.
  14. Yeah, Dave, and it didn't help that Cribbs' agent was also one of the Owners of the Memphis Showboats. I'm not joking, that was the case.
  15. Anybody want a stat? Ok, how about this: Of The Giants (5-1), Steelers (5-1), Skins (5-2) and Bills (5-1), The Bills are the only team whose loss(es) come soley at the hands of a team with a winning record. Giants lost to the 2-4 Browns Steelers lost to the 3-3 Eagles One of the Skins' lossess was to the 2-4 Rams. Sorry our competition hasn't been up to snuff for some of these guys and the other teams among the top five have been so good.
  16. Dan Manucci - no one wanted him to play ...and yes, I know Cribbs left of his own accord, but would we have fought more to keep him?
  17. Sorry if this has been asked before, but I just haven't seen this discussed before at the odd times I come into TSW. Additionally, sorry if this is too far back for some of you, but for the elderly of this Board, it seems like yesterday. For those who don't know let me give you a little history lesson: 1980 - Week 15, Bills lose to the Patriots and Fergy hurts his ankle early in the game. The next week, hobbled by a sprain that years later we would find out is actually a broken ankle, Joe leads us to a victory over the upstart 49ers with a rookie Joe Montana, an 11-5 record and a division title. We go out West and lose to the Chargers (whom we defeated earlier in the year out there, 26-24) in the divisional round, due to a 50 yard TD pass by Fouts with about 2:14 to play. SD holds and wins 20-14. As some (maybe many of you know), Oakland beats Cleveland and goes to SD to beat the Chargers and eventually the Super Bowl 15 over Jaws and the Eagles. The obvious question: would a healthy Joe Ferguson have made the difference? Could we have beat the Chargers in SD, as we did earlier in the year, if Joe had two good legs? Secondly, could we have beaten the Raiders? Yes, the Raiders were a different team with Plunkett at the helm than we had beat up on them in Buffalo earlier in the year. However, as the Wild Card, they would have had to come to Buffalo to beat us, instead of going out to sunny SD. BTW, yes, I know that they had to go to frozen Cleveland and win 14-12, so weather may not have mattered, but in all honestly, I don't like comparing some of the lucky things the Cardiac Kids of Cleveland did with what the Bills did with a top flight defense and Fergy, Cribbs, Butler and Lewis did on Offense. Of all the teams in the Bills history and all the turmoil we have put ourselves through as fans, this is the one that I really thought could have been something more than what they were. If we make it to the Super Bowl how long does Knox stay around, even given his problems with Wilson? Do we still let Fergy go in '84 even though he is the "savior" that took us to our first SB? Do we let Cribbs go? Again, sorry if this is old territory for most of you, but seeing our success lately makes me think back to our other good teams and other potentially great seasons and finishes that just drifted away through time. Peace and go Bills!
  18. True, and I think I'm changing my tune. Your point is well taken, so is Kas's point that we are the lowest rated 5-1 team. That needed to sink in a bit. I'm going to go even further; how much do you think they were really tempted to put one of the 2 loss teams ahead of us but just couldn't? Um, are we going to get a boast in cred considering that the Rams haven't loss since playing us? How about the fact that we have now beaten 3 playoff teams from last year, lost our only game to a good Cards team, and beat the Chargers by a larger amount than all their other losses combined (i think - OK, just checked, close to it 10 points combined, 9 in the Bills game)?
  19. Oh, believe me, I hear ya, MFP, but I thought I heard somewhere that overall it was the lowest TD total in 16-game team history.
  20. Guys, this got me thinking; how many offensive TDs did we have last year? Wasn't an all time low for the Bills, like 16 or 17?
  21. jd, I am not trying to be one of those guys, but i really don't have a problem with it and until NY, Pitt or Tenn lose badily or win REAL ugly we are probably going to be stuck at #4.
  22. Honestly, this story is actually more interesting with what is going on now with the sort of cover-up (if true) than the original issue at hand.
  23. He should be more dynamic. ...or maybe wear shirts with a racing stripe on the side.
  24. Naw, man, it is the genuine, grade A thing!!
  25. No, Kgun5, it's my bad and my lame sense of humor. And if i was overly jerky in my response, my apologies. Peace, brother.
