  1. heart issues and injury prone? OK, those qualify as important concerns. However, I'll still get the ball rolling and coin in it right now: JAMON-JI!!!!
  2. I am with you, John; I believe (hope) that D. Bell can make some strides in the off-season, so I am honestly willing to stand pat on him. Up until yesterday, I seriously would have take a look at how cheaply we could get Smith away from San Francisco... ...yeah, that's not happening now. SO much for me being ahead of the curve.
  3. I'll third that, after Dr. Dankenstein's 2d, above.
  4. Yes, and he was in sort of demand but ended up taking less money to play for the Jets which was more like the scheme he played in Baltimore, and wanted to avoid being "miscast" as he was at the end of his Bills tenure. *with a very bad church lady voice* Great Baltimore defense and great Jets defense, but not so good in Buffalo... hmmmm....could it be....COACHING!!!!!!
  5. True, Biscuit. Don't get me wrong, we would still suck, but the season would still be alive and I would be looking forward to the next few games.
  6. For a few years I've liked the Bengals...Thank heavens their season has been awesome so far. I've caught every game on the Sunday ticket, and seriously, I've been watching less and less bills, just DVRing them. In the NFC, ever since the Bills lost to the G-men in 2007 I just love them. I can't explain it. I just like that team; the way its built, who plays there, how there coached, the way they play. ...and when they beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl...
  7. This. Seriously, please trust me, it is this.
  8. My apologies to dublinguy on my earlier post. I never want to insult anybody and that was not the intent of my post, it just sort of sounds that way and that is the first thing to apologize for. Secondly, I gave an incorrect response to his original post which dealt with all time ineptitude. Sorry, dg, I am just frustrated. Peace, brother.
  9. Great post, MRM, but you know what might be lost by some in what you stated? That Denver team finished 8-8, lost the division and the owner blew-it-up. A seeming disaster on their hands. Umm, until they started playing the games this year. Where are they now?
  10. I seem to remember that while Ralph Wilson had Thurman as his running back, he did fairly well, too, both at the ticket office and in the pocketbook. How beholden to Ralph does Thurman have to be since his last paycheck from the Bills was almost 10 years ago, ya know, before he got cut? Hey, the most honesty comes from the ones we love. Sorry, but Thurm is pitch perfect on this one.
  11. Really? Really, we are going to be saying this about an organization that is 3-1 (should be 4-0) with a killer defense, a pro-bowl QB, with a first round draft pick who hasn't started a down yet but still they have a good OL (even after Levi Jones), with a coach in an overtime game who went for it on 4th and 11...to try and WIN the game, with great free agent pick-ups and a well constructed draft and a beautiful stadium (if you've ever been there) and whose only reason they went 4-11-1 last year is that our current back-up was their starter for most of the season. Really? I'm sorry, and i am not trying to be insulting to anyone, but God we are delusional as Bills fans (for example, going down to Florida thinking we are going to win against a team that lost to SD, Indy and Alt - 3 playoff bound teams, and lost their starting QB, but we were starting 4th and 5th string tackles, but that's OK) I'm sorry, again, but what even gives us the right? We suck. We rival Oakland. The only reason we are not in the same breathe right now is b/c we played Tampa.
  12. Geez, BB, that was best lead in for a thread. That is exactly the way I feel. Nicely done. ...I am not happy about it, mind you, but still, nicely done.
  13. More importantly right now is who is starting at tackle?
  14. Who wins every place that he goes? Who wouldn't be too demanding (money wise, and to some degree, control wise) at this stage of his career? Who loves teaching the game? Who would Ralph Trust? Who has history here? ...Schotzy. It has to be be Shottenheimer.
  15. we need beast mode, b/c having the leagues 4th leader rusher and 2nd overall in nonQB yards from scrimmage in Jackson just isn't quite cutting it.
  16. Where have you gone Mr. Rusty Jones, weary Bills fans turn the eyes to youuuuuu, ooo-ooo-oooooooooo Alright, enough singing. BG512...I agree with you, wholeheartedly. And I know you can't predict injuries, but man, the three plus years under this guy have resulted in a grueling amount of injuries and a team that gets tired in the 4th qtr...and not b/c of the no-huddle.
  17. I hear ya, but then take a look at our track record against Miami back-ups. Or at the very least, our record against Miami back-up QBs when we have a 20 point lead in the 2nd half. This team can make you sober.
  18. Seriously, EB, i thought the exact same thing while watching it.
  19. Not for nothing, but man I miss London Fletcher. I know he's older, I know he was slowing down even when he left here, but damn if that guys not out there still playing his butt off. I just think that would rub a lot of the youngsters the right way.
  20. I know, bbillsfan87, but i think mostly people around here that are critical of him are concerned where he makes those takles (ie, downfield) and also his problems in pass coverage. I am not a hater and like that he is making tackles...but i would not have minded an upgrade somewhere along the (time) line.

  22. How badly did I want those guys suspended? Thanks Goodell!
  23. Very good points, SG. I love Lofton, but many of us seem to forget in his best year here I believe he only caught about 53 balls. he was a deep threat, but I am not sure how consistent a threat he was. BTW, you know what variable I just realized which I hadn't considered...Jim Kelly...wow, can you imagine Jim Kelly in his prime throwing to T.O. ...I have to go sit down now.
  24. hmmmm, be careful, SGBF, you could be right about No. 1 but remember, it is 35 year old T.O., not Hall of Famer T.O. In other words, does he still start at 35 years old over a later 20s Adre Reed and a 32-34 year old Jame Lofton? I don't know, I'm just asking.
  25. Scott is young, but he has seen action in 22 NFL games (according to WGR this morning), also we have a veteran in Hangartner and a couple of very eager-to-knock-some-heads rookies that seem like they don't really need an inspirational leader as much as they just need someone to point them in the right direction so they can go kick butt.
