You know all this guy had to do, the ONLY thing he had to do was not kill his wife. Honestly; he had cash, opportunities on TV, businesses (I think he co-owned a couple of Popeyes). How great a life he could have been having in his 60s if he could have just heeded that small bit of advice?

I used to want a LT, but.....
dollars 2 donuts replied to Bronc24's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, there's a cure for that. Can someone pull-up the Speedo picture again? Seriously though, Marauder, I think our time with Clausen came and went as of his pro-day. I think one team may pass on him before us, but not all three (Cleveland, Seattle, Oakland...hell, possibly 4 if you consider KC). -
Interesting Article about Labor in the NFL

Lv, that was some good stuff. Thank you my man. -
Great comments, guys. I'll miss going to Bagel's this year (well, I missed it last year, as well) to watch the draft...you all would have loved it; draft guides all over the floor, pizza to be eaten, interviews to go through, movies in between picks and back yard quarterbacking achieved with his two young sons playing D-Lineman...yeah, there was a lot of passing.

We're not going to the Super Bowl. Given our history of draft's lately I'm still worried about us even picking a difference maker in the first round. That being said, why am I still on the edge of my seat? Why am I getting excited about Jimmy Clausen, Buluga (spelling, sorry), CJ Spiller, Williams, Tebow, Cody, Campbell or Gaither in a trade or the new Daisy Red Rider Pump Action BB Gun that I could shoot my eye out with?! Why am I already planning my Thursday April 22nd a week in advance? Why is logging online not good enough? Why do I want to run to the store and buy every draft guide on the shelf? Why am I skeptical about everything I hear all year long by learned people, until I've investigated it myself, but in April, if Betty White is going to be on the NFL Network to talk about Golden Tate I have to program it into my DVR? Man, I don't know whether to embrace this addiction or go for an intervention. sigh OK, I DO know...now give me a big hug and lets go Bills!!

Man, i don't like to be this guy, but i'll go there. the biggest problem may be his impending senility and i don't mean it as a joke. -

In his Junior year i believe Naaman was the third leading receiver in the nation. As a senior, with a sophomore QB getting his nose dirty for the first time and no Stark all season (a proj 4th rdr this year who ran for 1300 yds in 08) he still caught 63 balls and i believe 9 tds. That's impressive regardless of what conference you are in. BTW, i did not show a discrepancy between guys rated 12 and 20...it was 12 and 43 rated receivers. and i've seen lesser talent from even UB get picked up. -
They were smaller, but not that small in many instances. Smerlas' best years were behind him when we let him go, but he was playing at 305.
-
Makes me remember back to when the Bills had Jeff Wright starting at Nose Tackle through all of our Super Bowl years. All 270 lbs of him. Before him, Fred Smerlas, after him Ted Washington. Regardless of what some say, I always thought that team didn't win at least one Super Bowl b/c they sort of seemed to stand pat with where they were at. EDIT: Between 1990-1994, 4 out of our first 5 No. 1 picks were DBs (sound familiar?) with the lone exception being John Fina in 1992.

Yeah, I am not a violent person by any means, but when I hear commentators and retired NFL players giggle...I mean "giggle" like school girls when Buffalo comes up as a place for anyone to end up I just want to slap the p*** out of them. That being said, I am please with the top tier of guys we having running the show and I am willing to give Gailey a chance. A fair chance to work through this.

An honest man. Thank you bowery4. Man, the kid was good if you had the chance to see him live. I mean really something. -

I honestly don't dislike the guy, but seriously, Robert Royal should be arrested for the money he has been stealing from the NFL the last few years. Making a rough guess, I believe this guy has taken home 10+ million dollars over the last 4 years for being under average. Then again, Rob Johnson saw all of his $25 million dollars, sooo....

Man, that actually works when you say it out loud. ...which I will never say again as long as I live. ...especially in the office.

Dick Dickson, LSU fullback/TE visits Bills
dollars 2 donuts replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw Worilds mentioned as a value pick on Path to the Draft on NFL Network yesterday and i was kind of interested. I know how we feel about undersized guys, but he would be going to LB anyways. To you think this would be a luxury pick in the 4th round (albeit he is projected for the 3rd) due to the fact that we already have a bunch of these DE-turned-OLBs on the team anyways? -
The TOP 500 draft eligible players.....
dollars 2 donuts replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry, guys, just bumping this back up, because I think its kind of a good, quick reference to the guys in the draft. -
You guys don't mind if I jump on this bandwagon, do you? I think there is value to be had and I think this team should spread it around. I would be very pleased with three picks in the top 60.

This year's draft format?
dollars 2 donuts replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Stucky, ya know what makes the $$$ grab more annoying in this instance? The fact that nobody, NOBODY, in the NFL hiearchy that made this decision can look around the room when they were making it, and say with a straight face, "Man, the fans are going to love this. This is a win-win, and they've earned it. I'm glad we are saving them from their Saturday/Sunday get togethers and draft parties with friends. Hats off, everybody!" They knew we were going to hate this. I mean they really, really knew. -
Redskins interested in Flozell Adams
dollars 2 donuts replied to mike oxhurtz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, Mike, honestly I think they would still draft a LT. Flozell is not a long term answer, just a stopgap. Edit: I stand by my point, regardless of what the article says. -
No, I believe they let him go and test the market in free agency. Edit: yes, they did. http://www.sportsbookgurus.com/news/san-di...-darren-sproles

UPDATED: Tim Tebow, QB, Denver Broncos
dollars 2 donuts replied to Kingfish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well...I'm really not going to jump all over Charlie Ward for "not doing anything in the NFL". That's like saying John Elway really didn't do anything in the Yankees organization. It's true but its not the point. -
Very few words there, Doc, but so much to the point...that is really, really what scares me about this kid. Look, I don't want us to mess up on a draft pick but I would rather mess up on a draft pick then pay big bucks (and a draft pick) to a players who after he gets his 8 figure bonus checks decides he's really not that into football anymore. ...or worse yet a guy who we give millions to, plays poorly, and then ends up watching film of Baltimore games in the locker room after Bills' losses, thinking how much he misses the Ravens. Yeah, I don't know about you guys but that still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
