  1. I know he is still alive but IF Sam Gash was dead, he'd be rolling over in his grave right now. ...that was one back who loved hitting people.
  2. Buffalokie I have to give you props on this thread for a few different reasons which don't always come up on this Board. 1. You took something that I haven't really thought about before and hasn't really been discussed on this Board a lot, namely the schedule anomaly; 2. Then you analytically broke it down into a set of facts and comparisons around the league; 3. Then you tied it in to a fact concerning the Bills' schedule; 4. And then you finished with why it is important (or could be) to the Bills' season. Seriously, dude, nice. I was expecting nothing when I came in and instead I went: "OK, didn't know that..." "Interesting..." "Good point..." "True!" Honestly, a very purposeful and thought out post.
  3. Well, I guess the questions is, as is usually the case with careers that are so short (for example, Gayle Sayers), are his numbers good enough to get him into the Hall?
  4. NFL radio was commenting on the fact that with their injuries the Ravens need DB(s). Last time i checked, we have DBs, so ya never know.
  5. Sage, buddy, that is awesome!
  6. Yeah, believe me, he lost me in other parts of his rant, but that one stuck out like a sore thumb. A silly argument when you consider the Forbes article had the Bills at, I believe, 907 million, with gross revenue of 222 million, oh, and by the way, Adam, they have absolutely no debt. ...And although I am not suggesting this, but if the Bills were to raise ticket prices by 10% I don't think you would see any drop-off in attendance. I would hope that a writer would find it hard to beat up on a Town that continues to sellout its stadium 10 years after its last playoff appearance.
  7. That's interesting. Thank you, Icansleep. It would be a little funny if Ralph finally said to himself, "man, I am not going to be around forever, I should take care of this...I'll take a nap first."
  8. He should get something, but man, as many have stated on this board, I am baffled at the money dolled out to DBs in this league.
  9. More than once, you guys, I have commented on what I thought, and still think, of Wade as a head coach. Should he still be HC of the Bills. No. However, after 8 season as an NFL head coach, you don't have just one losing season, one .500 season, two division titles, 5 playoff appearances and playoff appearances with 3 different teams by being just an ordinary coach. I honestly think the Cowboys have a shot this year, but forgive me for digressing from the thread topic.
  10. OK, so I am going to hijack my thread here a little bit and I have brought this up before; can you guys envision the possibility that this team could have a worse record than last year, lets say 5-11, but you are more satisfied with their direction based upon the coaching and what you see on the field?
  11. Color me surprised as much as everyone else. Yeah, I was one of those who thought he had an outside chance of making this team.
  12. WEO, honestly I did debate that, but I would call it just a generally conglomeration of the seeming fact based upon my observation that over the last few months the normally bi**** members of TSW (myself included) generally have had little if nothing really bad to say about Gailey. Which is a nice change from the previous regime. Additionally, as I sort of stated, this isn't a final grade, this is just so far. EDIT: Problems sleeping? I just got married, so in a way, yeaaahhhhhh.
  13. I mean, seriously, it is just kind of good to hear when you consider the degree to which most of us disagree!
  14. OK, Jerry, not being a word maven here, the one thing I want to say is I really, really, really, really, REALLY, was hoping to see what this kid could do this year and I truly hope it is not season ending injury. Fingers crossed for Easley.
  15. A vote of confidence to a unit and staff that probably badly needs it. The most basic executive training techniques tells you to encourage your staff and compliment them when you think they are doing a good job. I see nothing wrong with this. Don't get me wrong, i am not about to start calling Gailey "Uncle Cuddles", however, I still think it is an appreciated move on his part to his staff...that he believes in them, is with them and will stand by them.
  16. I mean keeping in mind everything that was said previously with coaching choices for this team (which by the grace of everything holy we won't rehash here ), it generally seems most everyone on TSW kinda likes the guy. Yes, no games, even preseason, have been played as of yet, but his general demeanor, the way he runs camp, the way he runs fitness training, the coaches he has brought in, the plans he has in place have really, REALLY just been met with general approval by the masses. I know I am stating the obvious with respect to the above, however, I really didn't even start to dwell on it until this morning and when you get right down to it what it means to me is I really like the direction of the leadership of this team. Sure, we will curse him the first time he throws the ball on 4th and 1, and for not pulling out the red flag when we think he should. ...but I like this guy and I like what he is doing with this team. That's it, nothing more. Go Bills.
  17. Man, I approve of this thread, even more than the other one. I mean I really, really do.
  18. You left something very important out, PH, which I think is going to play a big factor with the defenses we go up against this year; his speed is going to scare the p*** out of them. No, no, they are obviously not worried that Spiller is going to be rammed down their throat, but they will be worried about this kids speed to the outside and how the cover him, whether running, or just going out on routes.
  19. FAITH Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, (and) the evidence of things unseen." ...and the eternal wish that, this time, God smiles upon children, puppy dogs and cities named Buffalo.
  20. Kudos to Philster on a great post and I'll back Rob up on his comments above. Come on guys, it is tough enough for us just being Bills fans, can we just go easy on each other? If you want to make a comment about someone else's writing style can't you be a little more constructive like, "I had a difficult time following your comments, but you made some great points." Philster, you really hit upon what I think is going to be the biggest hurdle for Edwards to overcome whether he is the starter this year, or not. Additionally, even if he looks OK right now is his new found skill going to unravel once he faces a pass rush that's really looking to get after him? I've speculated earlier that the Bills are a 5-11 team this year, but still a better team than last year's 6-10. That being said if you could guarantee to me that Trent's "lock-on" rehab is going to be surefire successful this year I honestly would flirt with the idea of a 7-9 or 8-8 season. ...that's how important I think it is.
  21. Yes, this is just what I was thinking before I even scanned down to see your post, John. It is very much this and you can't worry about it.
  22. Agreed. I am not a T.O. fan, but I don't dislike him, either. The guy caught 55 passes last year on a horrible Bills team with lousy quarterbacks. No way he catches less. I think he should be good for 65 grabs, almost 1,000 yards and at least 6 TDs on the bengals. Given the guy they have on the other side, that is going to be pretty complimentary numbers (ocho probably pulls 75-80 this year).
  23. Yes, but I used to think that about Mike Williams, and that he would have a similar affect on the Bills offensive line.
  24. Ya know, I'm not sure if Bill was going to comeback to coaching, but you hit that stage in your life where your kids are grown and happy, you have been successful and you just want to relax, like the Cowher's did in eventually moving back to NC and Bill saying I'm done for awhile. These are supposed to be the happy times...54 years old. God Bless the Cowher family and all those families whose lives have felt the full effect of this disease.
  25. Just speculating here, but I believe you won't see the Bills play in the white throwbacks again. I believe they were to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the AFL/AFC and were just for last year. I think that, other than anniversaries like we saw last year, each team is only allowed three versions of jerseys. - yeah, sorry, just read the article and my comments above are the case with the white jerseys.
