Is anyone else embarrassed?

In front of others your wife tells a stupid, old joke that you have no control over and there is dead silence...not even crickets. Your not embarrassed? -
Is anyone else embarrassed?
dollars 2 donuts replied to Dorkington's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Embarrassing is the right word, and admitting that I was wrong (as with the other thread) is another feeling I'm having. I knew we were not going to be great or even make the playoffs this year but I was so put out by the comments that some experts were making that I thought this game, at least, was going to be the highpoint of proving them wrong. ...after seeing almost this same mis-fires, same three and outs, same wondering of "why did we signed a Raider to the offense?" as last year I just plain felt like an idiot. -
Not only do I agree fully but I think you stole this from by means of some sort of mind reading technology over vast distances. However, I will let it slide this time as I have no evidence of it and no means, whatsoever, of trying to prove it.

And it begins again this year...even before the start of the season. Our guys don't even need a real game to get hurt. That is #1 (#3 if you count the preseason rookies, oh wait, I'm sorry I forgot Schouman, as well).

Mike and Mike....for real? worst team ever seen?
dollars 2 donuts replied to PJBrown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you, Fez. Right there. I mean right there you said it (well, wrote it). Knock on wood that we don't have as bad an injury problem this year, but I seem to remember before Butler went down in week two this team putting up some points against the Patriots and Bucs. ...oh, and a defense with 28 pics last year doesn't hurt either. EDIT: yeah, there were two defensive scores in there, but 57 points total were put up. -
Jets did not sell out their opener
dollars 2 donuts replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From the same article: The Jets can take advantage of a loophole in the NFL’s blackout policy that allows team owners to get their games on local TV by buying up any unsold non-premium seats for 34 cents on the dollar. Read more: http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/jets/jets_owner_will_buy_tickets_to_avert_zXk7YOADHJD4Ze6j7oplLL#ixzz0z3RMcy4x I did not know that. I mean, I know the owners buy-up the tickets, but I did not know they could do it for 34 cents on the dollar. ...a little self serving there, and important to know whenever an owner goes out and does this, costing them just a third of the real ticket price. -
How Many of You Will Be...

Thanks, Vinny. One is 13 and one is 7 and it is just not right and not fair. -
How Many of You Will Be...

I go to church every Sunday. I am uncomfortable about praying for victory because personally I think it is a little much to ask that of God for such a trivial thing. If I pray for anything game wise it is that no one gets hurt and they play to their abilities. Additionally, like Millbank, I pray for everyone's safety. My prayer list is filled and very unfortunately and very sadly, lately with children who have leukemia and cancer. -
Buf says "How do you?" To Chan Gaileys' Bills debut ... easy on the "boos" I know haikus don't have to rhyme, that was just a bonus.

Stadium Wall vs Buffalo News/
dollars 2 donuts replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If asked by the Bills (however unlikely) any 10 board members here would gather together and take time off of our jobs from now until Sunday to work on a game plan, probably forgoing sleep and without pay. ...but honestly, they would have to throw in donuts. Dedicted? Lets load this b@h up and get this season started! GO BILLS!!! -
What is Your Ideal Season?
dollars 2 donuts replied to Benjamin Barker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
frogger, I got excited reading your post. I hadn't thought about it a lot recently (although i cursed the Tampa 2 almost since we switched to it), but you are right and if you don't mind I'm going to ditto your points, because I also think we can achieve what you are stating, but be reasonable in thinking we'll get to about 5 wins. However, I want to add one thing to your post...and that is a similar attitude on offense and I am not just talking about shoving the ball down someone's throat but also long runs by Spiller that make them cry. -
Something for the bulletin board??

7-9 last year to 2-14 this year?

Just a note: we were 6-10 last year. -
Bills 2010-11 season, over under 5.5 wins
dollars 2 donuts replied to drinkTHEkoolaid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man, I don't know. I've been saying that I see them going 5-11, but not necessarily being disappointing. However, I have had some optimism about them being 7-9 if everything falls right. I think I'd take the under but I would love it if I were wrong. -
Funny thing is I don't rate either the line or the pass rush as our biggest concern heading into the season. ...our LBs stink and some of them are just DEs playing out of position.

Season ticket base dropped by over 11,000
dollars 2 donuts replied to Chalkie Gerzowski's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With all due respect to some of you who brought up the economy, do you really think that if the Bills were coming off a 10-6 season last year and we won at least one playoff game that there would be any (ANY) hesitation by these fans to buy the crap out of those tickets and sellout the whole season? ...this is definitely NOT one of those scenarios where "its the economy, stupid!". -
What Happened 30 years ago today?

Man, Marv, I couldn't agree with you more. That was the felling amongst my group of friends, as well. -

As I mentioned last week: Besides my first game, that was the first "never forget game" in my Bills fandom. ...and I got that feeling we might do it again. -
Early line for Miami game
dollars 2 donuts replied to DonInBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You betcha it was. One of the three greatest games I was at as a Bills fan, along with 51-3 and The Comeback (yes I was there, I was in a box so there was no reason to leave when I had pizza wings to drowned my halftime sorrows ) EDIT: Superbowl 25 should have been one of them, buuuutttt. Honestly, from where I was sitting at Tampa Stadium, for a moment, it looked good. -
Early line for Miami game
dollars 2 donuts replied to DonInBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
hmmm...I'm sorry, I'm just remember back to opening 30 years ago next Tuesday, when the heavily favored Dolphins came in to start the season and got surprised by an upstart Bills team that wasn't expected to do much. -
Give me your take on Brian Brohm #4
dollars 2 donuts replied to Another Point of View's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dog, I swear to you I still don't think he made that mistake. I truly think he is covering up for his receiver running the wrong route, and if that is the case that shows some damn fine leadership in putting it on his own shoulders. -
Is it too much to ask for just one aging, overpriced tackle that everyone else is done with who is most likely better than either of our starting tackles to be signed to a one year deal? I hope not. We could use one right about now. EDIT: I'm not even saying he has to start, we just need a competent back-up in case someone goes down, and i swear to you as important as that position is I don't know why it is worth a few million to this team for one guy, for one year.
-
First, that's all I needed to hear. Second, some of you guys are really going to have to come to grips with the fact that Edwards is playing some pretty good ball lately. I am not trying to judge anybody, but come on, the guy hasn't been "OK" during the preseason he actually has been "pretty good" so lets see how he does this season, because if he doesn't work out this year, we know what we are doing in the draft next year.
