Good point, Erik. I concede my mistake humbly...but with a side of wings.

bobo, I'm sorry I wasn't clear. My point is DEFINITELY get the top rated QB overall. That honestly is a no brainer. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING HOLY PROTECT THE KID. SPEND MONEY. GO GET A FREE AGENT TACKLE AND PAY WHAT YOU HAVE TO. and if we get Mallot or whoever will be the top QB "quality" in the 2nd or third round is not good enough. It is not nearly good enough. Do that with your LBs and receivers, but not for the guys you want protecting your franchise QB. Do we really, really want this kid to be getting his feet wet in the NFL by running for his life and getting smacked to the ground like piece a meat?

Edit: corrected, based upon Bradford's money. Considering that this guy will be guaranteed more money than any Buffalo sports figure ever, now, or quite possibly in the future as well (highly doubt we guarantee a FA or one of our veterans that amount every again), I guess they should probably invest a little bit in protecting him. I don't know, though, maybe I'm just a little whacky that way.

Broncos WR Kenny McKinley dead - suicide
dollars 2 donuts replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And in the face of a horrible Bills season and amongst a tragic thread regarding an NFL player, with correlation to pain and suffering that some of us have experienced first hand...this Board and its Members show why they are all sorts of win. My sympathies to the McKinley's and those that have suffered through something like this. and my props and applause to all those willing to lend a helping hand. Why do they do it? Well because ya see there's this guy in a hole... (For any of you who have heard the story before, or saw it on an episode of the West Wing) -
The only reason why he would come out, Astro, is if there are serious concerns that the League and Player's Association are going to cap rookie salaries. If the 2011 draft is potentially the last year in the old form, I would imagine even Luck is going to sprint to that draft rather than risk the entirety of his 2012 contract being smaller than his guaranteed money in the 2011 draft.

bobo, you are going to be giving this kid about 30 million or more guaranteed. My question, as it was in my earlier thread that almost everyone seem to ignore...who are you going to have protecting that investment on the left and right side?

Philly signs RB Bell off of our Practice Squad
dollars 2 donuts replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I second that. -
Yes, sure, ok, but AFTER THAT start, they are really, really, just gonna be done with him, win or lose. so...we should think about it. ...man, we are one bored group of fans. EDIT: Since we are going after starters why don't we just try and figure out a way to get Rogers...I say aim high if you are just blowing your wad in the sky, anyways.

I am not bumping for ego purpose, but to ask again since it seems like we are going to have a very high pick next year, that are we setting up to fail our potential first overall pick QB because we are not going to do anything to try and get him protection at the Tackle position with the lockout on the horizon? Hey Luck, hey Mallot, glad we gotcha, now let me introduce you to your starting LT, D. Bell, and your starting RT, who started for the Raiders in 2010. Remember duck and cover.

Sanchez The New Captain Checkdown?
dollars 2 donuts replied to Mr. ChumChums's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Although I do like the guy, Rex Ryan is now 7-8 in regular season games against teams who have something to play for...as opposed to Cincy and the Colts at the end of last season, which were the two reasons they were even in the playoffs. ...just sayin' PLAY LIKE A JET!! -
Even from his history with us (think his record is 57 or 59) I think if he is 55 or so yards away on a halfway decent day you let him try it. ...it isn't "no brainer" territory for him, but it does seem to be a range he CAN hit.

Report: Jenkins tears ACL again, out for year
dollars 2 donuts replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a guy who every time I see him interviewed just seems to ooze his love and excitement for the game. The man I feel bad for, the team I do not. -
score for crayonz!

Man, I was thinking the same thing, Joe. Hey, I posted a couple weeks back that we pick up the phone, offer him a crap load of money, and to screw his political career at least for one year. OH, Brad, you walked away from 2.whatever million to start your way in politics...are you willing to walk away from 6 million guaranteed, for one year?

Seriously. I'm PO'd hearing of the examples friends and people have given on this Board of reasonably priced tackles we could have gotten for this team to make it better, but didn't (Jamal Brown, starter for the Washington...had for a 4th, potentially 3rd rounder). They knew, I mean I truly believe they knew Green was a turd wrapped in a Bills' jersey since OTAs...yet nothing. So, after we get a QB in the first round next year, which we will if there is a draft, does anyone think this team which hits the free agent market about as aggressively as Jenna Jamison hits church, is going to offer somebody of quality for some serious money upfront to protect their new investment while a lockout looms? We are going to pick one of these QBs, the lockout will be averted during the summer and that QB is going to have a question mark Bell and Jemon Meridith protecting is left and right flank. ...or the Bills are going to tell us that Wang is just about ready and they like what they've seen in him.

Is anyone else embarrassed?
dollars 2 donuts replied to Dorkington's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Also, you can have some control over your embarrassment, for example, by properly using "you're" instead of "your" and realizing it before it is too late to edit your post. ...but you still feel good about the proper use of the word "too".
