  1. Why would you even think that, Finkle, when Marty has absolutely no record of turning teams around. He didn't do it for the Browns...oh wait, yes he did. Well, he didn't do it for the Chiefs...oh wait. Well for damn sure he didn't do it for the Chargers because they...oh.
  2. Man, I can't believe I got that reference. EDIT: and to prove it I believe we are talking about Frank and Ceasar, right?
  3. Ozy, I am not. I saying this for the first time in my life...I think we ARE the worst team in the NFL. Jags may be bottom five talent, but they are putting up Ws. Now, so are the Browns. As far as the other unvictorious/ Please. San Fran is so close to being a 2-2 team it must be sickening for them. Detroit is the same.
  4. No BF, and therein lies the rub - that is why (i think) that the NFL doesn't want players to be able to comeback during the season while on IR, b/c you could potentially stockpile players. Oh, you'd still have to cut somebody when they came back, but you could at least test it out, and I have a star player go on IR for 3-4 weeks without any real consequences. Note: That is also why the Bills could still have a 53 man roster but have about 20 guys on IR last year...b/c it doesn't count on your roster.
  5. Maybe you keep a roster spot open for 12 weeks of the season for Ray Lewis and Brian Cushing, but man, you don't do it to save a spot for Mitchell. I don't think there was any other play on this once he got hurt, unless they could have cut him right then.
  6. OK, that made me laugh.
  7. I agree with all of it: He'll start in a month, he is not a good QB and the jags QB situation is bad enough that he will be given a shot. Nothing real controversial there and it doesn't mean the Bills made a bad decision.
  8. I'm sorry if it sounds like ageism, but a 91 year old man should not be running an almost billion dollar corporation anywhere on this Earth, let alone WNY.
  9. If I were to give anymore info...53 times the jets have lost to the Bills. Just a little more info so jets fans can feel better about themselves when they travel to Orchard Park this weekend and their QB pisses his pants, like he has done in 50% of his games against the Bills...the Bills beat the jets during their Super Bowl year. Do I also have to bring up the fact that the jets have never beaten us in the playoffs? Naw, I'll save that one.
  10. And if they don't get that, then the jig is up, they all go home. The NFL Owners could sit forever and the only ones it really hurts are the players. They have to go back to the table at that point. I'm not disagreeing with you at all, sandy. I'm just sayin'
  11. He goes from 0 dollars a week to about $22,000 or so week per game. Assuming the rookie minimum is about $355,000. ...yeah, he takes that.
  12. Oldest player in the NFL (46) at the time of retirement. Good-bye George. WOW, check that, 49!
  13. I did not know that, Ozy, thank you. Additionally, you're a jerk for setting up Dr. Manhatten the way you did. jk - non Watchman will not know.
  14. Or, it may change next year, which means if Luck really wants to cash in, he should come out in 2011.
  15. Have no fear, matter2003, we are just good enough now to be entertaining, but just bad enough to assure us a top 3 overall draft pick.
  16. Most of the posters responses in this thread are as sad as the team they are supposedly fans of, so no big surprise there. We get what we deserve. markinsd, it is not right, even for a team that gets laughed at. Who would we have retaliate? That is the beauty of it, since most of our guys aren't what we'd describe as "great" losing one of them by reason of ejection would be acceptable. Should the guy injure Matthews? No. Should he beat the **** out of him in front of his home field fans with a late hit that drops him to the turf like a cheerleader after the play and slap him around like a little b****...hell yes. They are not very good, but they are MY team and that is embarrassing. GO BILLS!
  17. Good point, Erik. I concede my mistake humbly...but with a side of wings.
  18. bobo, I'm sorry I wasn't clear. My point is DEFINITELY get the top rated QB overall. That honestly is a no brainer. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING HOLY PROTECT THE KID. SPEND MONEY. GO GET A FREE AGENT TACKLE AND PAY WHAT YOU HAVE TO. and if we get Mallot or whoever will be the top QB "quality" in the 2nd or third round is not good enough. It is not nearly good enough. Do that with your LBs and receivers, but not for the guys you want protecting your franchise QB. Do we really, really want this kid to be getting his feet wet in the NFL by running for his life and getting smacked to the ground like piece a meat?
  19. Edit: corrected, based upon Bradford's money. Considering that this guy will be guaranteed more money than any Buffalo sports figure ever, now, or quite possibly in the future as well (highly doubt we guarantee a FA or one of our veterans that amount every again), I guess they should probably invest a little bit in protecting him. I don't know, though, maybe I'm just a little whacky that way.
  20. And in the face of a horrible Bills season and amongst a tragic thread regarding an NFL player, with correlation to pain and suffering that some of us have experienced first hand...this Board and its Members show why they are all sorts of win. My sympathies to the McKinley's and those that have suffered through something like this. and my props and applause to all those willing to lend a helping hand. Why do they do it? Well because ya see there's this guy in a hole... (For any of you who have heard the story before, or saw it on an episode of the West Wing)
  21. Which is harder, believing they cut him or believing this team took Maybin ahead of Orakpo, Matthews and Cushing?
  22. His head is so big that if it were out by Pluto we would go back to having 9 planets in our solar system.
  23. The only reason why he would come out, Astro, is if there are serious concerns that the League and Player's Association are going to cap rookie salaries. If the 2011 draft is potentially the last year in the old form, I would imagine even Luck is going to sprint to that draft rather than risk the entirety of his 2012 contract being smaller than his guaranteed money in the 2011 draft.
  24. bobo, you are going to be giving this kid about 30 million or more guaranteed. My question, as it was in my earlier thread that almost everyone seem to ignore...who are you going to have protecting that investment on the left and right side?
