I really hope we see a lot of Miller-Ed-Rousseau-Floyd rushing on 3rd down and obvious passing downs. Doesn’t get much better than that in the current NFL

Agreed, Era, but you know who you are leaving out (just a little bit)?

Jordan Poyer.  With our safety duo back in tact I can't wait for those times that McDermott sends Poyer flying in (and he will) from a blind, or hell, even straight on angle.

Crazy...he has been in the League for 11 years, six of that with Buffalo, but 10 of his 11 career sacks and 22 of his 24 career picks are with the Bills.

    Go Bills!

I doubt it. It's quite clear that there's serious hate for Allen at EA Sports. Despite a somewhat low 93 overall rating, there are several triggers which make him a serious liability. For one, his awareness is far too low causing him to make a lot of bad decisions. While his rate of fumbling is far too high, in Madden, his fumbling is absolutely ridiculous. Additionally, his pocket presence is "paranoid", causing him to panic far sooner than in real life. I once ran a simulation game in spectator mode and he fumbled 3 times in a sequence of just 8 offensive plays including 2 fumbles on 2 consecutive plays. His Madden avatar , despite his leading the NFL in turnovers in 2022, is a far cry from reality. I always have to go into the Bills roster and fix the most obvious errors to get a more realistic performance from him. Otherwise the Bills massively underperform as a team. I fully expect the same nonsense from the Madden raters in Madden 24.

This is silly. How is there "serious hate" and how is 93 overall "somewhat low?" 🤣

That leaves only Mahomes & Burrow ahead of him, which is pretty much how most people see it. If we weren't Bills fans, some people would say he's too high. Jalen Hurts is an 89, ranked below Dak Prescott, Lamar Jackson & Justin Herbert. If they rated him any higher, there'd be people raging about how overrated EA has him (which some already do).

I don't care about his awareness rating though. He does fumble more than other QB's, and he LEAD THE LEAGUE in turnovers last year for all QB's... He's still a 93 overall! That's not "serious hate" by any metric.

Read my post more closely. Better yet, put he game in spectator mode and use the CPU Skill slider "SIMSLIDERS". Set the game settings to 15 minute quarters and the play countdown to 13 seconds. You'll see what I mean. He's an absolute horror show. My son won't even play Madden any more online because of the absurd fumble rate. Yes he fumbles too much, but 4 or more times per game? For example, Kyler Murray ran 4 times fewer than Allen in 2022, but fumbled almost twice as much. His "Carrying" rating (A player's ability to avoid fumbles) was something like 12 to 16 points higher than Allen's. Clearly that's bias at work.

True, if you always slide or go out of bounds when you run with him. Plus, when controlled by you, that automatically overrides several of his triggers that make him cost the team wins.

As someone here who has written about this before on this board in years past…yeah, they grudgingly would raise at an inconsistent pace with others, and his initial yearly rankings were low.

That said, 93 is about right, maybe a tad low, but it is fine.

Do you remember his 2020 season?  He was something special, right?  He was also three years deep into his career.

At the start of the following Madden season, if memory serves, he wasn’t amongst the top…10 QBs.  🙄🤪

Well they can’t be worse than the G’s last year, and I have compassion for Brown who fought through the neck and back issues and no off season all the way back to his last year in college.

Ya know Guns we are a particular, and probably NFL standard, sort around here.

Justifiably if there is issue with Allen's health (shoulder, elbow) as a fan base we come to his defense.  As we should and given his level of play when he is healthy.

You and others have previously referenced Brown's injuries, lack of a true recovery, and continued concussive ( to the body) nature of the position he plays.

...and generally from a lot of us he almost gets an "F' you, be better or be gone."

I like the moves Beane has made on the Oline.  However, I am hoping that Brown can at least get back to what he was his rookie year, when healthy.

If he doesn't that is too bad, because he did so much imposing of his will that first year.  However I am very much pulling for him, because he is one of our guys, because he's done it before, and because of the disadvantages he has experienced caused by his injuries, especially at that position.

Maybe we could cut him a break and see.

    Go Bills.

Nothing, because in an era where everything is remade, and poorly at that, the Bridges/Damon/Steinfeld remake was simply a great movie and a nice surprise.

Cody Ford instead of AJ Brown or fan favorite at the time, DK Metcalf. I question whether we would have traded for Diggs if we had drafted one of the two, however. Maybe we'd have Metcalf and Justin Jefferson. Maybe we wouldn't have Allen. Who knows.

All I know for sure is the Cody Ford was not a good football player when he was here.

so hard not to be this.  In the alternative my friend preached Creed Humphrey up and down to anyone who would listen (me).

Creed a solid starter his rookie year, a pro bowler his second and he is plugged in there for 10 years.

Taking Basham over Humphrey was pretty big one.  Mitch honestly could have been switched to guard.

I meant an indictment on the current Madden game when it comes to playability/fun. NCAA14 still has a PC community with updated rosters. It seems that at some point EA made the conscious decision to make the game "look real" at any cost. It's almost as if NCAA programmed players independently and gave you enormous freedom of movement but the cost was a few glitches where the physics didn't make sense (i.e. you leap at a pile at full speed and get stood straight up). Now the current gen focuses mostly on the player interactions, and you're not allowed to select any player and move them anywhere (i.e. moving Von to either side of the C for a stacked FG block attempt.

There's a laundry list of complaints like the current Madden won't allow you to move DL away from the LOS on defense preplay. Or be any player for blocking (on pass plays).  When you're a runner, you get sucked into other players for contact interactions. QBs are magnetized to the backfield and its a struggle to scramble even with a QB Allen. And not being able to co-op franchise mode was criminal.

What's funny is that back in the day, NCAA and Madden usually had the same development team and they used to fix issues they found in post production NCAA in early July by the time Madden came out in mid-August. But having the same set of eyes on it might have been what caused it to become complacent.

Dude…NCAA 14 is a great game.  Boy.  Good memories.

Seeing what's happened to Madden is so sad...I wasn't aware they've said they were legit going to try and fix the platform...going to do some digging there, but they've said that in the past too and then just added some feature that used to be in the game years ago back in.

Like they need to unwind whatever crap happened when they switched to Xbox 360/ps3... it largely broke when they switched to that version of next gen, but then the damn ultimate team microtransaction bs started and the dev focus shifted on that and they couldn't spend enough time fixing the game...plus the decision to go to animation based game play instead of genuine physics based...

I have been playing Madden since the very first console Madden on SNES, so I have seen the entire fall of the franchise.

I follow the YouTuber Ryan Moody and he eviscerates them and has many, many examples as to how the animation-based gameplay has ruined the game, not to mentioned the MUT microtransactions. They have ruined Madden, NHL, NBA, FIFA, and now they are working on destroying F1 which they just bought.

We all know how much the lack of competition has contributed to the downfall.

    I wish the NFL knew.

and yeah, I’ve seen the moody videos, too.

Some things I liked about it.

-Has McGovern and Torrence in and both do good as expected in pass pro. Allen is sitting in the pocket a lot which I strongly feel is going to be the case this season.

-Lot of 2 TE sets with Kincaid and Knox.

-when we got 3 wide slot of Harty.

-Allen has tough game which I feel is realistic with Fangio.

-Has a lot of Bills focus on run game.

    -Low scoring tough defensive game.

-Von in, good rotation on dline.

-Dorian William's at MLB. Highlights his speed and physicality on some plays.

    Great sim! Worth a watch!

Harris with 53 on 15 carries, but he got yards when he needed to get them.

Davis was huge.  As much as he could be when Josh only throws for for 168, if memory serves.  Almost 90 going to Gabr.

Nothing really from Diggs until they needed it on the last drive.

3/12, no lie, the Miller signing sort of scared the heck out of me due to age and money.  Love "the guy" but don't love the age, money and then getting sidelined.  You want to tell me they signed (insert name) for $22 million per and he is 27, sure.  I could be a little more on board.

EDIT:  Jeepers creepers, it's just kind of frustrating.  20 Mill and hands down best player on D, but is old and gets sidelined, previously the best player on D at 17 plus Mill gets sidelined and then we have a number of picks and a number of guys on the D-Line that are just sort of JAGS, or JADL if you prefer.

...Throw in that we didn't have six million measly dollars per for 3 years for Harry who was rocking it by the end of 21 and we already had an investment in?

I don't know, Hondo.  I know we eat the Cowboys (as referenced above) early on in 93 after the 92 season Super Bowl.  However, my memory is blank on how we did that same year, as well, against Washington and the Giants.
