Luck To Indy Equals Failure?
dollars 2 donuts replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Colts were 2-14 this season. They were 3-13 in Manning's first year. ...I still think Luck could have a reasonably good rookie season stat wise, have the Colts going 6-10 and still be considered a hero by first year comparisons. -
First, may I just say to all of you guys this has been a great thread. Honestly, sometimes it gets a little messy around here, but my compliments to TSW for this one...quite insightful with varied perspectives. Now, Astro, great post and I like the way you are thinking with this. Of course I don't think we are going to make a tremendous splash with big name players in free agency, but that's fine. I could live with quality, medium level talent role players. If I could pick up a free agent at a reasonable price that had the same quality at their position (whatever position that may be) that Chandler and Barnett gave us this year then that would work for me. Although I doubt Welker would leave N.E. unless it was a great offer, i still like your list. Obviously I would want more but even picking up just 1 starting DE (or OLB) and a WR in FA would not only mean a great deal for this team, but it would free up our options in the draft. ...keep up the great work Stadium Wall!

Lee Evans taking the blame for the loss
dollars 2 donuts replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well said T. It is so weird though...I mean I have rarely ever seen an instance in football where one single play could have so erased a disappointing season and resurrected the feelings from a fan base that had been questioning the signing as much as that dropped pass by Lee could have. Yeah, I do feel for Lee this morning. -
Bills Salary Cap Article

I'm thinking that heading into his 3rd season that Gronkowski could be thinking to himself (justifiably) that he is the best TE in the NFL and should start to get paid like it. -
I watched that entire game...except for the last minute. 98-94 thought it was over...man, what was I thinking? it was late.
-
Dave, that is a good point, but didn't they just trade all the players? I think the franchise is still the one out in L.A. EDIT: 3 NBA rookies of the year in 5 years (73, 74, 77)...what a damn shame and crime that was committed against this city by that ownership.

Yeah, even with the couple of unfortunate drops he had I thought he was about to be something special before his latest health issues.

The Official RGIII thread
dollars 2 donuts replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah. I thought Cleveland wanted RGIII so bad even before I heard the rumor that Cleveland wanted RGIII so bad. -
So, the 23rd rated team in the NFL had the 18th ranked QB.

Lee "the magician" Evans....hes dissapeared
dollars 2 donuts replied to marauderswr80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Darn it, Code, I am right there with you. Although the game was great I reminisced ( or commiserated) with my father-in-law about how much this time of year was in the early 90s. -
I hear ya, K-9, but I don't really have a good answer. I know he has value that is why I think he will get a multi-year 7 figure deal and he may never get hurt again. However, there is the likelihood that he becomes like the FA OLinemen that we signed for multi-year 7-8 figure deals that only turned into great disappointments. ...or as noted above, what Jennings turned out to be for S.F., but that was due to injury.
-
Agreed, I remember Erik Dickerson wanting to be here badly when things were turning around in the late 80s.
-
Agreed, AD. Additionally, even given his injuries I think in the open market he is going to fetch 3 plus million dollars a season. ...seriously, good for him, but I think it is just too rich for what he would bring to the table if we wanted him back. EDIT: BTW, Bell, should you get that money I hope you stick that in your father's face and tell him, "I didn't need you before, and I don't need you now...so don't all of sudden start to claim, 'there's my boy' you jerk."
-
Ohhhhh I love Wilson. I actually thought that would be a nice pick up in the last couple of weeks but I had no idea it what round he might go. I'd love to get him in the 4th.

Some Indy Insight into Polian's firing
dollars 2 donuts replied to buffalonian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very much this. Even in the Super Bowl years the rumors/inside baseball were that he was tough to work for and with. -

With Bills Done: Will You Root for Another Team?
dollars 2 donuts replied to CSBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My 2nd favorite team has always been the Packers (going back 30 years) so, yeah, it is going to be easy for me to still enjoy the season. ...and I just can't get enough of Tebow. I watched the first comeback last year, live. I have caught everything since. I mean for crying' out loud it is like watching a movie. -

hmmm...If you give me back fully healthy with all of the games lost of Marcus Easely, Kyle Williams, Aaron Williams, Eric Wood and, I can't believe I am saying this, Chris Kelsay then I am with you at 8-4. -
This Manning Situation Will Be THE Talk
dollars 2 donuts replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pretty much agree. How could the Colts not look at how well the situation has worked out for the Green Bay Packers? ...well, until it got ugly, but it still worked out in the long run. -
Agree Vadar, that is why the NBA and NHL were predictably ahead. I just had to check to be sure. FYI, Florida Panthers came darn close (1999-2000). First, absolutely true. Second, it would not be a proper response to one of your posts if I don't remind you of the mayhem and genocide you committed...all in the name of peace. I hate being "that guy" but I believe you've come to expect it from me.

CJ's run that was called back...?
dollars 2 donuts replied to Dorkington's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dork, it was nice run. Seriously. His first half would have 12 carries for 122 yards and two TDs. ...that works! -
