  1. Yeah, I was thinking to myself, "if only there was a sure handed receiver, with experience with this team and its system with at least some experience at returning punts that we can sign quickly...hmmmm." Honestly you guys if Roosevelt is on the field I am not going to be worried at all. Martin...welllllll.
  2. "Johnny and the mother's are playing at the Savoy tonight." "VERMIN IS GOING TO KILLY MY BROTHER AT THE SAVOY TONIGHT!!" "I didn't say that." "Yeah, but I know this grape vein." Right there with ya Jim.
  3. I know, right. I love the Bills, but why as fans do we just get ridiculous with respect to the other teams in our division tanking. I mean there are honestly people on this Board who know and love football and truly believe the Jets and Pats are 8-8 teams at best.
  4. Sorry, McGee, but i agree with the above.
  5. I know this kid is technically a rookie. I know he has never played a regular season down for us in two years. ...and I hope and pray that everything works out for and he comes back next season ready to go. However, from a football stand point I believe this hurts us this year. This kid had all the qualities this Bills regime looks for in a receiver and if they didn't want him to eventually take Nelson's spot, at the very least they wanted him to be the first guy in when one of the two starters goes down (knock on wood). I am not saying he would have had a Tampa/Williams campaign this year, but I really could have seen him catching 40 balls or so. Get well quickly and safely, Marcus.
  6.  I pity those of you who have never seen Good Fellas.
  7. They'll be selling "clues" at 50% off... Credit to cmjoyce113 - http://bleacherreport.com/articles/836748-nfl-predictions-week-1-picks-for-every-game/page/5 "Prediction: Kansas City 42, Buffalo 7 If the Chiefs must play without Cassel, I reserve the right to change this prediction considerably. With Cassel, no matter the Chiefs struggles during the preseason, Kansas City is head and shoulders above the Bills." Maybe you should get one.
  8. Who is tied for first in scoring defense? ...Man, we could do this all day!
  9. Great take. I will also give kudos to Bozanna's...great subs!
  10. Yeah, dneveu, it was a little hard on the Buf and OP, but aside from that and i mean no offense to anyone here who thought otherwise...it really wasn't that good of read. Really. I mean it was quite clunky and his meandering prose would have been fine if it didn't go on for almost 3 paragraphs of "how bad is Buffalo" and Fitzy could have done better schtick right off the bat. Yeah, hit it in a couple of sentences and move on. Sorry, I am not trying to be a hater. I just didn't think it was that good.
  11. I...kind of agree. That's pretty nice...for starters.
  12. Check that, bills_fan, b/c although I could be wrong I thought I remember (maybe in Smerlas' book) that although they told people it was sprained it was actually broken going out to San Diego. Translation: the guy has balls the size of church bells. The way he battled his illness later in life solidified that.
  13. That was pretty good.
  14. Hey, if you are ever going to be optimistic and sure as heck should be for the first game. Bills 24 Chiefs 21
  15. This made me laugh. I didn't even think about that. Thank you, J.
  16. Nailed it, with honorable mention to Penguins and Falcons (when Vick got hurt).
  17. Tim Vogler Ken Jones Joe Devlin Will Grant EDIT: Sorry billsintaiwan, didn't see you had Grant.
  18. i never swear here and I am not going to start now, but honestly if the above happens. :censored: :censored: :censored: Davis can't catch water when it rains but as a coaching staff let's give him a chance.
  19. I know many of us hate the "old" QB rating system, but I honestly think Fitz will rank no lower than 14th in whatever QB rating they will be using this year. ...just a gut feeling.
  20. interesting...how things have changed over the last few days. Titans need to get ready for the season and Johnson needs money.
  21. Agreed. Geez, just get in and get out. It isn't really conciliatory if you just go on, and on, and on.
  22. bahhhh, that is good point, LB! However...I'll stick by it. I am not saying that Dareus is a HoF like Thurmal, but the truth is he is the greatest impact player I have seen us draft since Bruce. Thurman did it through out his career, but I don't think we started off thinking he was going to end up where he did.
  23. Dareus. Honestly, he is looking like the best Bills draft pick since Bruce Smith.
  24. Haven, I was going to mention this as the time that I most remember coming closest to this. However, maybe it is the fog of memory or I am just plain getting old but this time feels a little worse. Bob, I agree with all your points and to add one more to it: Ralph's age. It is like the Sword of Damocles hanging over the heads of all Bills fans and the future of this team in WNY. ...additionally, I've said this before and please forgive me if I sound like an ageist but at more than 92 years of age I just don't think Ralph no longer has the dynamic faculties necessary to be running a billion dollar business.
